My favourite ones are Truth, When The Music Dies and Hour Of The Wolf. :) Fun fact: Elnur participated in 2008 as part of a duet (he was the angel), and in 2015 as a soloist. :) He's got such a powerful voice.
1. Always (2009): 95% 2. Truth (2019): 94% 3. When The Music Dies (2012): 93% 4. Hold me (2013): 90% 5. Day After Day (2008): 85% 6. Skeletons (2017): 80% 7. Running Scared (2011): 78% 8. Miracle (2016): 77% 9. Start a Fire (2014): 76% 10. Drip Drop (2010): 75% 11. X My Heart (2018): 70% 12. Hour Of The Wolf (2015): 50% All in all, pretty good job! They always bring something descent. I am glad they are in this competition. :)
I think Skeletons must be higher, and Hour of the Wolf definitely deserves top 3. Always on the other hand is a very generic and simple song. In fact I would switch your first and last songs :D
1. Skeletons 2. Drip Drop 3. When The Music Dies 4. Day After Day 5.Hold Me 6. Truth 7. Always 8. Miracle 9. Hour Of The Wolf 10. Start A Fire 11. Running Scared 12. X My Heart
All their entries are enjoyable in my book :) My favourite would surely be Skeletons (2017), Dihaj deserved at least top 10! Another would be this year's Truth, Chingiz slayed and I just love whenever Azerbaijan sends their ethnic sounds 😍 My least favourite would be 2018 (yes not 2011, I love Ell & Nikki 😁). X My Heart sounds too generic for my liking.
Really loving this idea of you reacting to all entries from a country! Even if it's just a short clip of every song, it's a fantastic way for us to get to see you react to a lot of great entries. As for Azerbaijan, I am in awe of Elnur's voice (2008 and 2015), but the best overall song, voice, and performance has to go to 2019's "Truth" by Chingiz for me. ♥ Followed very closely by 2016's "Skeletons", then 2015's "Hour of the wolf".
Elnur was Azerbaijan's representative to perform "Day After Day" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008a long side Samir Javadzadeh as duo Elnur and Samir. And 2015, represented Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Hour of the Wolf".
Elnur's opening vocals to Day After Day are INSANE. How he switches from almost operatic to rock vocals during a held note. It still gives me goosebumps after all these years. So talented.
I looooooove the Winning song 'running scared" and I was so sure they would win, so I wrote Eldar and told him that I would book my flight before the Final. And so I did. I Think I was one of the only ones ( of the Danish fans) who believed in them....so I Got myself a very cheap flight ticket to BAKU. Just 3 Months after the ESC Final in 2011 the tickets were 30 % higher 😂 just some random fun facts
loving the idea of this series, this way we will see most of the requests you had in your enormous pile. I will have to be very patient for you to get to my country, as Spain is nearly at the end. I loved 2017's Azerbaijan entry but my favourite one is 2009's "Always", it's a perfect eurovision song, ethnic vibes, dancing rythm, catchy song, charismatic singers, if I'm not wrong was 3rd place after Johanna and Rybak, not a bad result.
"Always" from 2009 is still Azerbaijan's best entry in my opinion (they came 3rd after Norway and Iceland). You need to react to the full song. 2012 entry was also amazing (one of the few host entries better than the winner - finished 4th). You didn't mention it, but you did react to 2012 before.
Stephen Moore It definitely has evolved so much. Eurovision is all about timing though, and I like to think that Running Scared winning opened the door for Loreen’s Euphoria to take the contest to a much higher level in Baku.✌️
@@JakesFaceReacts Yes I agree. Euphoria is probably the most well known modern eurovision entry which really raised the bar of the competition for years to come
So psyched you're doing this! Been wanting to hear your thoughts on Germany 2003 & Malta 2005, but I'm sure there are ones I'm forgetting it will be fun to hear from you on too!
About the last year entry. I saw somewhere that the song "X my heart" is actually about her dead husband who had cancer and the lyrics are about her living through it. About this new well "project" of yours, will you always react to such short snippets? I personally liked when you watched the whole songs like earlier. (Sorry for my bad english if there are grammar errors, my english is not so good, I'm from Bosnia)
Thank you for your compliment. About these reactions, I just wanted to say that this way in like 10 seconds you can't really see and react to a song that good. And I pesonally (and I think many others here) wish that you watch and see some of the greatest songs ever in ESC and not just 10 seconds of them :D
Hello Jake. Another great video from you. It seems like you are having a really good time, so happy and enthuastic. Jake, I think Gabby is jealous of you spending time here on CZcams😊 love from Norway
Okay, If you do all countries like this you won't be bored for the time being. I hope you'll do that. I would love that. Take care Jake! P.S: Junior eurovision will be the 24th of November in Poland! Bye X

Their first entry reminds me when Eurovision was just too camp. Just terrible. I am glad there are jury votes now, which rewards the songs with a certain quality and punishes songs which lack quality.

Azerbaijan is one of my fav countries in Eurovision. They always deliver, almost every year they are in my top10.
I love Samra, Dihaj and Chingiz
Arek Thank youu! :)
Thanks frpm Azerbaijan
Tarana Agayeva Efendi was my 2nd😅 soo Azerbaijan does it well hahaha🔥
Thanks from Azerbaijan! I believe Dihaj is the best out of all :)
Always 2009 and When the music dies 2012 are the best in my opinion!
Jeffrey It’s unreal that a country who has only been in Eurovision since 2008 has sent such quality performances.💚✌️
Agreed!
Great country. Love each song
Their 2009,2012 and 2017 are by far the best 😍❤💪

@@or5645 Always is iconic. Not original, but iconic. I never got the appeal of Hour of the wolf, tbh, and I really thought X my heart was a let-down

I agree with every single statement here, except my number one favorite is "Truth", followed very closely by "Skeletons".
When The Music Dies will forever be my favorite ❤️ Such an amazing result for a host entry

Hours of wolf 2015
Skeleton 2017
I've been asking for you to react to their 2008 entry for so long xD
It's an unbelievable entry (with one of them being the singer of 2015 as well)

Safura's Drip Drop was choreographed by JaQuel Knight of Beyonce fame. Azerbaijan are definitely not here to play. They came to slay.

They don’t have any bad songs. I actually love 2008. It’s a really cool song.
My favorite entry was from 2019 😍😍
Eurovision has improved so much in the last four years in my opinion. Running scared would have struggled to qualified in semi final 2 this year
