it's so beautiful to watch these two dance so effortlessly, such fluid movements and amazing control...
Vincent and Flavia are pure magic together. They need to come back to Strictly!!
The ladies that came in were dancing Samba, but the couple were actually doing a Rumba - Flamenco combo
Love it good job
There is some maxixe, lambada, salsa too... Gafieira it's so much different than this!
i know I'm kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good site to stream newly released movies online?
@Ali Arturo Lately I have been using flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Donovan Atticus Definitely, I've been using FlixZone for years myself :)
The best pair of professionals ever on Strictly. Miss them x
wow they are both amazing dancers!!!
i agree withh you ;)
i wish i can dance like that :DD
they are not that great. ive seen better
michael lorenzo I've seen these two live! They are incredible! Met them two-they are two genuinely lovely people! The dancing I saw was The Last Tango which was sensational-a mix of so many different styles. The story had me in tears!
Not particularly
a masterclass. show this to contestants competing on strictly the week they are rehearsing Samba. same can be said for Argentinian Tango. Vincent and Flavia, outstanding and missed like mad!
It’s like my friends told me “we will come visit you in Brazil” and bought tickets for Costa Rica
SAMBA??!! ARE YOU KIDDING??!!
Gipsy Kings don't play samba u stupid dumbass.
And samba doesn't dance like that.
I' ve seen how brazilians dance samba. Watching this I only see rigids movements of waist and members; not really beat on them. They have a log tree's grace.
@@globalcoupledances I bet you have no idea what gafieira means LOL
chompypunk890 umm, it's called ballroom,latin american samba 😭😭
The style they dance to is actually called Rumba Flamenca, and it's from Spain, not Brazil!!1
You are right about the music, but they do not even dance that.
00:00 - 00:40 is samba.
@@myll3n4 yeah, the start is samba, but the couple is dancing Rumba, so the video itself is basically a latin mix ¯\_('^')_/¯
THANK YOU!
EXACTLY. I HATE WHEN FOREIGNERS MESS UP ALL LATIN CULTURES.
@@myll3n4 Yes
i dont care whether its the brazilian samba standard nor the international latin ballroom samba, i both love them. I guess whoever created the steps for the latin ballroom that is far fetched from the brazilian samba, being a national icon of brazil it is its ultimate inspiration and its still associated with the country as this is brazilian's iconic dance, most especially the beat of the music and the spirit of fun and enjoyment of dancing it. I'd always love dancing either of the two...
The best couple ever on strictly professional dancèrs
No one can do it better
Despite the two being divorced. The dancing chemistry is fab.
Very enjoyable and fun from beginning to end! Love this show! 5 Stars!
omg i love the gypsy kings listened to them for the whole 18 years of my life, never been happier to hear them
I have friends Colombians, Cubans, Peruvians ...
and they say that they do it with the "Salsa", with the culture of their country!
These two are so good.
I love watching hugely talented people use their talents
It gets so old with people (I assume from Brazil) complaining about every single
Samba dance on CZcams. Yes this IS SAMBA. It is danced all the world as a partnership dance. If the song is sung in English, Spanish, or Chinese, it is the beat 1 ah 2 that makes it a samba. The solo dancers at the beginning were doing traditional Samba complete with costumes, and the couple was
Doing a International Style Samba. Yes they are doing recognizable steps. Watch Blackpool or World Super Stars Dance

Tell me about Rumba Flamenco and Brasil. :) Next I would like to hear your opinion about Mercedes and Ferrari. :) What about Bach and Mozart ? Or a camel and a horse ? :)
I love her costume, The performance is outstanding. I love it all!
The music style they dance to is actually called Rumba Flamenca, and it's from Spain, not Brazil... they should call this act "Mix of Latin Styles"... their dance is not Samba at all.
As usual, the English speaking people take pieces of the Latin and Brazilian culture and make a weird collage with them.
Who are you
Traci Baker I´m just a mexican guy with enough knowledge of latin music and latin dance styles.
ROCKINGJAGUAR Who cares - they are brilliant - styles get mixed up - so what, picky picky picky
Yes, You bet it, we dont even play spanish song to dance samba here in Brazil. Thats definitely not samba. Great dancing tough..
Exactly
That was a good samba by Flavia and Vincent. I like the way they added the flyaway R Shadow Roll and changed positions into the Closed Facing Position "Gyro Roll" with upper body at the end. I loved the recognizable samba content I wanted to see from them.
both are just always fun to dance to..i searched it in wikipedia and undenyingly brazilian samba and its music is the major and ultimate inspiration for the international latin ballroom samba that we have today.. this dance performance is a good tribute for the brazilian and international ballroom samba. i appreciate that they've shown both and they've shown the brazilian one first showing respect to it as its inspiration. (or at least that's how i take it)...

So Respect!
Kkkk
How she loved their music
That was beautiful
And now Flamenco Music is SAMBA. Im impressed how they are very sharped in SAMBA's knowledge. Congratulations, Let me introduce them to Jimmy de Oliveira and Jaime Aroxa. Because here in Brazil we're dancing in worng way
This IS Samba, only not Brazilian Samba, but Ballroom Samba, which is based on Bazilian Samba but adapted for competition purposes. What makes it Samba is that it's danced at 48 bars per minute. Technically, the music doesn't have to be Samba.
I also used to get really angry at this being called samba (or salsa, or cha cha cha) , and then be danced to some other music.
It was soo beautiful synchronization of their dance whole time I was watching in awe it was sooo beautiful..... Wowwwwwwwits....
Two fabulous dancers
To all the dance snobs in the comments, no one is claiming that this is Authentic Brazilian Samba, but what it is is very impressive Ballroom samba the sort you would see at a Latin Dance Competition
I love this. - joe
Gentlemen, this is not samba.
Not samba, not even close.
+dancetjoen Bad copy? There's no such thing. Samba de gafieira is a sub genre.
Exactly
exatamente
@@globalcoupledances this is not samba de gafieira. Besides the music is not samba at all!
Wow! They are simply amazing. Nothing else to say but that. Amazing!
amaaaaaaaaaaazing!!!! beautiful............. Vicent is very very eery elegant and Flavia a precious paradise bird
Good dance, but this is not Samba, first the song is from venezuelan, the music is from Spain and the dance is salsa, from Caribbean . Unlike!
I second that. Not samba. Not even samba music.
Lais Vaccaro This is not Brazilian Samba. This is Ballroom Latin American Samba. These are two different things.
I agree, the Americans confussed the music always.
Lais Vaccaro this is LATIN AMERICAN samba music. the beat matches up to the international standards and it can be danced with Latin American Samba choreography. it is influenced by Brazilian perhaps, but not the same thing.
BlowNavy What do you mean by Latin American samba music? In Latin America, samba music is brazilian samba because, you know, Brazil is also in Latin America therefore what we grow accustomed to know as samba is brazilian samba... It seems to me by this video, that what you call international standards is generalizing a bunch of latin american music (also from spain) and moves and called it "Latin American Ballroom Samba" (i'm not trying to be rude, this is really what it looks like to me and perhaps to some latin americans in general, that's why you see so many "this is not samba" comments in these videos, sorry if it comes out rude!).
This is ballroom samba, and very well done...as a Brazilian i really feel the difference of Brazilian samba but that is the way this works on ballroom dance and i love it....
Cool song !! Being able to dance is one of the best feelings I experienced.
Omigosh! I love that song (among the whole album) from Gipsy Kings! They have beautiful "spicy" music!
However, their music is more Flamenco than Samba or Salsa,I think personally (seeing their music videos after all). But this is cool.
No offense to the singing staff of DWTS,but they are killing this song!! TT^TT why can't they just use the soundtrack itself? I had to mute it and listen to the origin song
What is it called
Also, a couple dancing a dance called samba to a spanish language song in a rhythm far from samba only perpetrates misconceptions, is an insult to latin american cultural diversity and a hijacking of something that is almost a "Brazilian cultural trademark". And all this on a such a widely watched and respected channel as the BBC.
The BBC is turning into a joke.
Thank u. Banking on a lot of European ignorance, but also to any body with half a brain. Silly really.
Can somebody explain why Americans do stuff like this ?
@@veronicageorge3825 BBC is British, not American.
I'd probably get my legs in a knot if I dance like this. LOL!
guys they also dance tango without traditional tango music but the beat is the same and they dance the correct steps, it's not the samba you are talking about but it is a samba and they perform it really good
isso nunca foi samba
sim!!!
é um plagio do samba kkkk
@Israel Henrique bagunça é a porra do funk
Damn
Everyone's just getting so mad in the comments about the fact that it's not samba
and not even appreciating the dancers efforts
Yeah regardless of what to call the dance, the dancing was excellent. This coming not just from me; they’re very well known in the Latin ballroom community.
making a mistake for a big channel is kinda embrassing, especially one like this. I'll feel insulted if i was brazilian
Love this song 😍 hey Veronicas
beautiful and very fluid
hahahahahhaha samba? seriously?
Never considered Bamboleo to be a samba song..
Marya Shariq Personally,I think it's more a Flamenco dance type of song.
What amazing dancers
This is professional dance samba. Anyway, this was a great performance. Everything worked: the dancing, the costumes, the music. Good job!
No, ITS NOT SAMBA
IS NOT SAMBA.
IT IS SALSA.
+Ronaldo Balduino Da Costa
nope, it IS Samba
SALSA
dude, english please :) are you talking about the dance itself or the music? because the dance IS samba, only almost no basic steps
+Mark Rassner Google tradutor 👌👍
What is the name song!!
***** Σ ευχαριστω bella...
Bamboleo, but that's not Samba, and sure that's not batucada!! That's Flamenco rock!!
Dance evolves. This is just an interpretation of the samba. It's a TV show. People need to lighten up.
Hey it matched the mood really well. Me being Brazilian I really loved it
In 1500, Brazil was discovered by portuguese colonizers, who then took african slaves to Brazil in order to work on sugar cane farms. African slavery was abolished in Brazil only in 1888. In the meantime (1500-1888), those african slaves took the *Semba* (african) rhythm (music and dance) to Brazil, along with several other african rhythms (Lundu was another one). This gave birth to several african-rooted rhythms in Brazil, and they were all called *batuque* (this word means "drumbeat" and was used as a generic name to represent all such african-rooted rhythms created in Brazil). By the abolishment of slavery in Brazil, the word "batuque" was gradually replaced by other name words: each "batuque" rhythm received a specific name. That was when (beginning of the 1900s), in the countryside of Bahia (a northeastern brazilian state), the word *Samba* was created to give name to one of such rhythms developed from the Semba rhythm. Hence, Samba existed long before 1900, but didn't have a name: for a long time, it was just one of the several "batuque" rhythms, and only received a name by the beginning of the 1900s, in northeastern Brazil.
This is how old Samba is. This is the (basic) story of Samba. This is why Samba is a Brazilian Portuguese word and a brazilian rhythm. This is why Samba is brazilian.
Knowing such things is very important. It's the 1st step to understand why International Ballroom "Samba" (I will call it just IBS) looks weird to any brazilian: the issues start right at the begining, when a brazilian reads the name of such dance, because it doesn't make sense to put the word "Samba" in the name of something so mechanical and so disconnected from the Samba performed in Brazil.
Another problem is that *IBS is just a dance* but, in reality, Samba (the brazilian one, which is the original one) *isn't only a dance* but much more than it: *Samba is an entire art form* having a background and foundation made of an entire culture, history, music, dances (yes, in the plural: there are several Samba styles, each one developed in a different region of Brazil, although the 1st one was created in Bahia's countryside), clothing, theatrical elements, slangs et cetera. It is inevitably linked to Brazil's people, roots, culture, history, language et cetera.
Everything brazilians see as a problem in IBS is a consequence of this misnomer. Should IBS receive a different name (without the word "Samba" in it) it would then make sense.
Me encanta la samba! :D
This is such a unique video, im personally from canada so all this is new to me. Im surprized that i know the song playing here, ive heard bambolao song many times. Anyways that dance was incredible! Its really neat to see how they flow so well together.
that's no Samba.!!!
here you can see the right Ballroom-Samba (in Brazil ist called "gafieira"):
Diogo Nogueira - Samba de Gafieira / HSBC Brasil
That is a very ugly dance. No wonder the international ballroom community changed it!!
@@blahdlah1920 this dance looks ridiculous. I was almost convinced to join a ballroom studio and I thank god every day I didn't follow through with it. It's trash

Beautiful ballroom-samba! Can't really judge the first part of the video, but it looked really good too.Gosh, I want to be able to dance like these guys!

it IS
+Mark Rassner This isn't real samba, it's just a variation that came from Maxixe... So to any brazilian, this isn't samba.
sure, but the tournament dances are all variations; so spoken from that point of view, it is
+Mark Rassner Well, in the begining of the video, you see a obvious reference to Brazilian Carnaval when the girls enter the stage dressed in brazilian Carnaval fantasies and start to "samba", that should have been Brazilian samba, but they weren't good at all.
Just because some europeans decided to mix a bunch of latin dances (samba/maxixe/salsa/etc) and appropriate of the name samba, doesn't mean we have to accept this as samba.
yeah man, that's the finest, no doubt about that ;)
That was amazing :)

Lovely london school of samba intro... However the rest is a recipe for cultural disaster: stiff, aggressive, muscular movements, on a piece by Gipsy Kings. No samba steps in sight. Anything Latin for the cretins in the uk, is that it? How petty and insulting!
This isn't isn't samba, the dancers are too STIFF
Exactly my thoughts. And what's with the gipsy kings music?!!.. Anything Latin is it!???... How patronising
