They send their "worst/bizarre" songs or their best (ie small countries for pride), because the winner hosts the next year and no one wants to host. The voting is 100% along political lines so it gets INTERESTING. My Favorite was from like 10 years ago, Russia sent a group of grandma "Babushkas" singing folk music to techno beats. But everyone loved it and it got either won or almost did.
This song was half death metal/pop and the theme was Human Centipede. LOL
