- What makes this lock so difficult to crack in the first point is that you need to understand what you have to do. Enjoy another live solve!

How would you have approached the "Kassenschloss"? Is there a faster way?
Why did not you pre-tention the lock? I mean just pull the shackle a bit and move the knobs to get the answer. Common way to unlock codelocks, because if the knob in a wrong position - it is going to get really hard to move. At the same time correctly set knob is going to have some ammount of freeplay
Али: Might be a possibility I will try if I can "feel" something. Probably depends on how intensive you train feeling these micro-movements.
I'd just open it like any other code lock, by just tensioning the shackle and then looking for the wheel that gets stuck. That is always the fastest way, and with practice almost as fast as just entering the correct code. Might be a bit trickier with the tolerences in the wood, though.
Which one do you like more- "Constantine" or "Hanayama"?
I would simply take out the screws ;)
I would choose to see you solve them live for sure. Seeing how you think and approach the puzzle is great. Combining the two views before and after is very well done. Keep up the content.
The quickest way would be to keep the shackle tensioned (pulled up) when turning the dials - that way you can feel the movement response of the mechanism.
Wanted to propose the same thing. Saw that trick when our beloved Mr. Puzzle solved the cell lock box rather recently.
I like the process in this video - it's more fun watching and hearing you solve it - but with the intro being recorded after. :)
Bosnian Bill or Lock Picking Lawyer. You should keep constant tension on the shackle.
Nothing on one, two... :)
Lol
Thanks for keeping the new format (live solving). You can always edit if it takes too long. But it’s definitely more interesting because we can observe your thought process for puzzle solving and learn more to become better puzzlers. Danke!
Definitely like the format. Live solving is neat but hearing your input and analysis is a big reason I subscribed.
Haha, love the excitement in your voice when you discovered the not so hidden code! Very clever, I kept thinking there was more to it while you were working on the solve. Another awesome video!
Love the live solution with the introduction. Keep on puzzling Mr. Puzzle.
I really liked the solution being there the whole time and how you figured that out at the end. Well done!
Love your live solves, mr puzzle!
Love the new format, keep up the great work! 😊
So watching this now I think it will be good to split the next videos in 3 parts. 1 - live solving, 2 - showing the solution in the fast way possible, as you used to do and now 3 - explaining the puzzle. I like how you approach the puzzle with logic and math. Well done!
The new format is great! Loved the video and the puzzle
Great idea, this new format.
I like to know your thoughtprocess while the puzzles are still new to you.
Keep up the good work
For a video I would try first a first impression of the puzzle, then the blind solve and then some final considerations / what you learnt from the puzzle.
Awesome Mr. Puzzle! I really enjoy your videos.
I love this approach with the live solve, then recording an intro afterwards. One thing to watch out for is that in this one you mention in the intro about the three positions for each dial but the explanation for that is in the solve; when you first mention the three positions I was still assuming that each dial could rotate 360 degrees, so the assertion that there were three valid positions for each dial was very confusing to me.
I'm sure things like this will happen from time to time, and of course I would prefer that you avoid them, but I still prefer this format for the video even if I do suffer from temporary confusion!
I like that you found a solution by your own thinking and process, another good video!
Reminds me of those cheap bike locks, I don't know if they still sell them, but when I was a kid I could pick them by rotating one dial at a time and when you get the right digit, the lock gets looser.
You know shit is getting intense when Mr. Puzzle pulled out his notebook.
:D
Yes your way with the intro is good ... and i love it win you solve it at the moment it's helping to make us have fun with you even in a video
This live solve is a much better format!
Sehr schönes Puzzle. Wurde auch Zeit das du dich mal wieder sehen lässt. Meine Familie hat schon gewundert. LG 😊👍👏
Haha, alles gut! Umzug!
Wow! Very happy to see another Mr Puzzle video. I was just thinking about this channel today when I found a few puzzles in the thrift store. (2 Hanayama and 2 Siam Mandalay) I have not solved them yet but I am trying!
Cool, which ones you got?
The Padlock and Enigma from Hanayama and the snake cube and double ball lock from SM. My favorite is the Enigma- it's very fun to fiddle with.
That description..
"what makes this difficult is you need to understand what to do"
You don't say :D
Great video!
Your approach was amazing
Thanks!
Live solving! Nice :)
I like the way he solves these puzzles.
I find listening to your though processes extremely valuable, and this was super helpful. Yeah, I thought it was a product number too...cheeky Constantine. Great video, thank you.
I really don't come here for the puzzles. The voice is very calming. These videos relax me.
I love the glee in your voice once you realized Konstantin's sneaky clue. I think I would have approached this laterally, where the wheels/gears must represent something other than just gears. As you pointed out at the start, the possible combinations of gear positions would be extremely extensive, so there had to be some other way of thinking about it. I'm not sure where I'd go from there, but the clock positions probably wouldn't have been too far off after much trial and error, as the name and nature of the puzzle doesn't give much of a hint (like combination lock dials or something).
You're back... thought you had got lost in a maze somewhere!😁
Haha!
Less spectacular, moved into another place. :D
@Sand Smasher True!
You are a genius, my friend, and good job as always.
Love the live vids
Live solving is the best
Cool puzzle.
The solution being the fake item code upside down makes this a good puzzle.
Nice puzzle
My favorite part of your videos is when you get confused
Better with live solve! Shows how you work through the problem to the solution instead of just showing the solution.
Beautiful
Nice one, I was thinking that number should have been the combo and paused the video to look more closely, and then when I resumed, you figured it out as well 🙂
At the beginning of the video I was wondering why you can only rotate the discs to 3, 6 or 9. At the end of the video I see that you can rotate the numbers/characters 3, 6, 9 and E to get different numbers/characters (E, 9, 6 and 3). That's very brilliant: *rotate* the discs randomly (slow solution) or *rotate* the code behind the puzzle to solve the puzzle (quick solution).
There was no E, that was 3 upside down.
The best part of live solving is seeing the aha moments (:
It’s been a while. Welcome back.
I prefer the live solution. Your reactions when you get stumped or fooled makes the video much more interesting. Also, for those of us who would choose the hammer (me), we get to learn some methods for solving such puzzles.
🔨🚫
4:50 I wonder if the way the slots on the screws are situated indicate the position of the dials.
If the top right dial didn't have it's channel for the pin it would have to be in the 6 or 3 positions making it slightly more useful, what do you think?
imagine if this guy make his own video game or films , damn, i would spend about 10 years to figure out how to solve all the puzzle xD
That is a good like layout of the vid:
Intro. Solved. Recorded solving
Any iea if the sketches for this is available from somewhere? I'd love to make one myself. Looks like it's just burned out from poplar or something :)
Again a enjoyable video by Mr puzzle. Also the little black dot in the top right corner sent my OCD into overdrive lol
It's a merk in the desk. 🤗
@@Mr.Puzzle Is that what it is! Cheers mate...
which is more difficult? this one? or the 3 key? is this can be destroyed by 2 wrench?
I love that you had it figured out right from the start, but the maker tricked you by inverting the code... ENIGMA!
You could do both videos. One with just the solution and one with you solving it.
I'm perfectly happy with however you do your puzzles Mr. Puzzle. I think you could do some one way and others another way, how about that?
9:39 the lower left was not set to the default 'down' when you were test the lower right and gave it a X for not working...
Schlaue Herangehensweise.. Hat Spaß gemacht zuzusehen, wie immer 😊..
Grüße von einer deiner seit kurzem Abonnenten..
This was a good one.
Glad you like it!
Welcome back!
great do more
"you can brute force this, but let me show you another way". *proceeds to brute force*
I'm surprised that you didn't simply move the shackle upwards (with all dials down) and while keeping it upwards (slightly pressed) tried to move the dials to see which ones would be affected by it (it would be more difficult to move them).
If you ever get stumped, just do what I do: use a hammer or thermite.
Thermite! Hell yeah!
Thermite might be a bit exaggerated! :P
I can only hope you have never ever got and will never ever get, stumped in love ;)
Fulgrim2 As Jamie from Mythbusters said, "When in doubt, C4."
Honestly "live" see it as it happens, watching the puzzles get solved the 1st time is much more interesting than the "this is how" video. I wouldn't bother with the intro bit recorded after but seen before either. It'd be far better just giving your thoughts and feedback after we've seen you trying to and hopefully successfully opening or solving the puzzle. Even the ones where you fail and need to return to it later would be great.
How dare the puzzle manufacturer slip the solution under Mr. Puzzle's nose like that!
Anyone else think the spec of dust in the top right of the screen during the puzzle solve was on their monitor?
OMG. I tried to clean it off my screen!
I like a lock puzzle 😁
Yay blind solve!
you just assumed that each disc had 3 positions? why?
Was hast du am Anfang auf Deutsch gesagt?
(Sorry if I got any words wrong; I got this from Google Translate and I am not German- but I am learning it!)
Kassenschloss?
I seen the solution in the 'seriel number' right from the start. All those 6's and 9's made it obvious. If only you'd turned it upside down earlier lol
When you zoomed in at the shape of them, they looked like Reese's peanut butter cups. I'm going to go get one now.
Yes Live Solve, Thumbs UP!
“Brute force” Would that be a hammer?
How do you solve puzzles ?
did you watch the video? that's how.
You're back. What am I gonna do? Learn.
His solution at 11:00 has 3 six, 2 three and 1 nine. But the number 699336 on the back of the puzzle has 2 six, 2 three and 2 nine 11:52.
Each one of these puzzles could have a separate "combination" to solve. Putting the combination on the puzzle should not have been done but put in a sealed bag that someone could open in desperation to get the combination.
It's a combination lock with false gates. Nearly every position had a false gate for the six o' clock position.
Not nearly, just all. Well, except for the ones with a true gate at 6. Terribly easy to pick given that.
Liked the probably you have us!
Wow okay that solution As worked out by Mr puzzell was amazing. I'd like to think that I would have been able to use the same principles but sadly no. However being a puzzle enthusiast I think I would have exhausted all the possibilities using the number on the back first and got it that way. Nevertheless Mr puzzell you never cease to amaze me. I'd love to know your IQ.
Uncrackable?. Hollup lemme get my axe
12:00 wouldn't be a puzzle lock if the only way to solve it is to brute-force all the combinations.
why do u place coins around ?
I could think of a higher difficulty by lasercutting another shakle part. With more positions than 3, some maze like dead ends and that the shakle part needs to be moved more. I.e a second move could go to the right 😂
Quick maffs
Beautiful hands 😉
The coins are boundaries for your shot??
2:14 A way to solve this:
Try see two views. Now combine them before it is very well done. Keep your own content.
But, a extra puzzle:
Can you find the 9?

Leave a heart on this comment if you solve it!
k
Knowing the solution cannot be reversed? Ive got 2 bottles of wine that say otherwise
The cactus
I get 8x3 possibilities not 8.
hi
do you live in Germany?
I want you to make audio books of all my favorite books. I'll pay you in grains of rice per word spoken.
If I ever run out of rice I will contact you!
One grain for the first word, two grains for the second word, four grains for the third word, etc.
Exactly. And for every misspoken word he gets a brussel sprout and a smack on the wrist.
Are you a white rice type of guy or a wild rice or yellow rice or what. I am the rice man and I can get you what ever rice you need. As long as you can get me what I need, that sweet sweet heavenly voice reading me my favorite book. The uni bombers manifesto.
"From my point of view" = In my opinion ;)
