    Too many garden youtubers do a monthly garden tour that can last 30 or 40 minutes. I really appreciate vids of less than 20 minutes that show highlights, how to's and education. I look forward to seeing how your fruit tree guilds develop.

      Totally agree with this - it’s about capturing change, that of the plants yourself and things you are adding, moving, removing. Talking a bit about seasonal maintenance tasks is the bit of Monte I find the most useful too.

    I’m a bit late to this party 😉 but I still wanted to comment to let you know I loved this video. (I enjoy all your videos of course!) This format of garden tour works really well and will be a feature I’ll look forward to. Gardening is so much about change and I love to watch people’s gardens change through the seasons. Loved hearing about your upcoming plans and jobs too. Your production and presenting is of such high quality Niall. It’s more like a mini Gardener’s World than a CZcams vlog. You should be very proud of all you’ve achieved- both in the garden and on/off camera 😊 You’ll be well ready to fill Monty’s shoes by the time he’s ready to retire 😉

    I just found your channel a few days ago, and have binge watched several episodes! I too began a fruit tree guild garden last year, but yours is the first I've seen that isn't wild and messy guild gardening in the country. I live in a suburb of Seattle, and I want the benefits of tree guilds, but I need it to look nice too. It will be fun to build my gardens and watch yours at the same time!

    I'm just begining to reap the benefits of the bulb lasagne that you inspired me to plant last year in half a dozen large containers. The Crocus are lovely already and I can't wait for the rest to bloom, Iris Reticulata, Daffs and Tulips. Brilliant after a long grey winter. I'm going to buy as many Snowdrops in the green as I can find this year as well for a show for years to come. My garden is sadly lacking in them. I'm enjoying watching your garden evolve and I'm particularly intersed to see how the Fruit guilds develop as I have a place in my garden that might be ideal. Thanks again for the inspiration!

    Niall never get board of your expanse of garden. Ye really lucked out getting this as your home. Loving the guild garden. My word, that's some greenhouse, its beautiful. . They weather had been great for gardening here, 300 bulbs for the summer planted, lots of primroses planted. Lots of gardening done too.
    So glad you are making the most of your green house. May I say the bulb lasagne is still going,iris ate the first to pop out to say hi.

      Hi Lorraine! ❤️ I hope all is well with you. Yeah we're incredibly fortunate to the garden and space that we do. The greenhouse is really lovely to be in and I'm in love with it. 300 bulbs - good on ya! That'll be a lovely display. And super that your bulb lasagne is still performing for you. The seating is actually all charity shop finds that are painted up in super bright colours. A family member makes them for me and I think they add such a pop of colour and a bit of fun to the garden!

    Nice bulb table Niall! I’ve got the same mix of bulbs myself on my table, snowdrops , early dwarf irises, early dwarf tulips. Its just fantastic to see theses flowers after the short dark cold days. Having them on a table makes these smaller plants so much easier to appreciate. Often I leave them growing because I’m worried it’s something I planted…I think it’s the untidy corners that are most interesting to see and what to do with them!

    • @niallgardens
      @niallgardens  Před 4 měsíci

      Oh, so when it comes to spring flowering bulbs, I never through them out. Maybe I'm being cheap, but I find that with a bit of aftercare they come back for a good few years. I'll keep the pots watered, occasionally feeding the plants after flowering, and let the foliage die back naturally. Then I'll leave the pots (not so neatly! ha!) stacked somewhere!
