    I'm always amazed at how some people spend money. I live here on 500 USD a month. It's not forever, I'll have more in the future, but for the last 3 years 500 a month is all I spent.

      I've been spending btwn 2.5k/month
      But i.live mainly in BKK and im still doing the tourist visa and runs every couple months.
      Also AirBnBing it. I could probably bring expenses down to 1800 if I'd get a more long-term visa. I still live in an expensive part of the city by choice.

    I left a used condom around for my Mrs to find once but it didn't quite have the same effect as your mop fibre had tho. She went crazy knowing I had been keeping my beer cool while tidying up. For anyone not living in Thailand, condoms are things used to keep your beer cool ;)

    Hi there
    Dogs will be ruling the local area soon as they’re getting bigger video by video, good on you for being able to live in Thailand full time at your age , and you’ve set everything up to cost as little as possible, peoples budgets are varied , I feel mostly governed by alcohol intake and the need for western food that many can’t be without for some reason , a $10 burgers as opposed to a $1.50 phad Thai or a 60 baht beer against a 6 baht water , it’s good to see your Thai lifestyle , and never feel you have to divulge or justify how you can afford to be here

    You are earning more than enough, to be honest I was quite surprised on how much you make on CZcams, and you could argue that's only going to get bigger, but I really wouldn't worry about your finances I think you're sitting pretty, there's only so much money you can spend in rural Thailand, I think I was spending around 25,000baht same as you, I owned everything, my electric was a 1000baht, a month, I'm curious do you have to burn your rubbish, I had to, there was no bin collection where I was

    • @LifeinThailand777
      @LifeinThailand777  Před 8 měsíci +1

      We’ve yet to conquer the rubbish situation. Currently we burn paper and cardboard, and put binbags of other rubbish into public bins twice a week in the city. Once we get some chickens / ducks then this will solve the food waste issue I guess. I’m sure there’s some kind of compost solution but I’ve not reached that far down on my to-do list yet 😆

    interesting to hear about your income streams. Good that you have the recruitment, that means you still pay UK tax and NI, which is very important for the future for when your pension age. Dont let that slip. Even if you dont work in UK any more in the future, keep the NI going. You will regret it if you dont. Im doing similar to you. Im 66 though. I was sitting on my savings, watching it make eff all. So I am buying an off plan house here in Hua HIn. You cant take it with you, so much better to have a base, and not pay rent. Im looking into solar, but will add later if necessary. Im more concerned about double glazing for my house, i like quiet, but I dont want to be as rural as your location. Since im older, i have factored in the remainder of my savings for income on a monthly basis, I have also sold my place in Malaga Province which is giving me a good income also. I will have income of between 2 and 3 grand UK a month until im about 96. So hopefully that should be ok.........very interested in the solar though.......and have you seen the top of the range BYD electric car? I need one of those........so having a charging panel at home powered by solar would be ideal. Keep up the good work

    Spot on Ben. Sometimes the Devil takes me, and I deliberately put the milk away in the fridge THE WRONG WAY. I never knew there was a wrong way until I got married. Now I know, and there's no excuse for it unless I need to score a point and tell her that 'At least I put the bugger away!'
    I have been known to be a big help around the house. I can now change the toilet roll without being told to. I sometimes close a cupboard door without bidding, just to make it easier on the little woman, and just the other day, I had a go at putting the quilt back on the bed. (FYI Ben, a quilt is something that people in Britain use to keep warm in bed at night. Yeah! Who'da thunk it?) Anyway, I managed to catch the light shade with just a tiny corner of the quilt and the light bulb fell out.
    Now I'm a big chap, and standing on the mattress to put the light bulb back in would not be good for the slats of wood on which the mattress sits. I knew this instinctively. Didn't need to be told.
    So I left the light bulb on the bedside cabinet, so that we could deal with it as a team bonding exercise sometime in the near future. This appears to have NOT been THE THING TO DO. I am now off bedmaking duties for the foreseeable future. I'm relegated to changing the loo roll and keeping OUT OF THE WAY.
    Buddy. I know exactly what you mean.

I’m sure they’ll be days during the monsoon season when this changes though. We don’t restrict our electricity consumption at all, other than aircon. We are careful with this. If we had aircon going in both bedrooms all night, I’m sure this would drain the batteries. Hope this helps mate, also I just replied to your email 🙏

    Nice work! Very informative and to the point. Regarding this topic, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a bit of a dilemma. I'm just about to start building a homestead and farm on 9 rai of raw land in Northern Thailand. I would like to document the journey on yt but I'm unsure about the legal side of it all. Even if I get the necessary work permits to run a youtube channel, I think I'm not technically allowed to build my own home, do any of the farm work, or any job that's not permitted for farang. Can anyone help shed some light on this?

      If you have a Thai wife? then just put the yt channel in her name, as for the permits you can't own land if you're a foreigner but you can own a house (or a percentage of it) you should seek professional advice on that. If you are on a marriage visa you can get a work permit easily. Most don't though and I've only heard of one ferrang getting a bit of bother for painting, I think he was in a tourist area though. Just run it by immigration for the exact do's and dont's

    I was surprised that you receive as much as $750 for November with 10.3k subscribers from CZcams.
    $2,000 per month working remotely is also very good.
    I hope you are operating with a UK Limited Company and you and Anna are employees of the company on salaries of £10,000 gross per annum to (1) use up your personal allowances (2) to get qualifying years for your UK state pension (3) no CT to pay after trading costs.
    Having no rent to pay, the two of you should be able to live very well on 50,000 baht per month => $1,430 => £1,200 per month.

      Good on yer. Seems like you're doing very well, and $2700 approx per month seems more than enough given your circumstances. Can I lend you my 3 daughters for a month and then we'll see how you get on, on that income 😂😂😂😂😂 You can pick them up from Korat anytime. 😊

    As you are living away from the cities do you have a problem with snakes and spiders ?

    • @LifeinThailand777
      @LifeinThailand777  Před 5 měsíci +1

      TBH no, I’ve only ever seen one snake on our farm. I’m sure there a lots here, but I make sure to tread loudly, so they always disappear before I see them. I did see a large cobra once on the road to the farm, that was a little disconcerting 😅

    Make sure youre laying on the couch with a cold flannel on your forehead just before Anna returns. Tell her you've not stopped all day. Together with the clues you've left she'll take pity on you haha.

      I'd love to see some of the arrogant SOB Thai vloggers go down, but this guy does a good job, his videos are quality and he doesn't shout his mouth off. The vlogger swho have seriously angered people in the past have all gone and one or two just 'disappeared'.

    I cannot see how you have earned almost $750 dollars in November with only 68444 views.. Your average daily views are around 3000 which would pay you roughly £3-4 a day depending on the quality of the adverts. I can only assume you have over 100 members if so well done but you never made this clear in the video

      My CPM is consistently around the $16 mark, I think this is quite high. Either way I certainly earn a lot more than $3-4 per day from my channel 🙏
