      In 1975 when i was growing up
      A TV WAS UNHEARD OF
      if you had a Black and White TV ..... IN YOUR HOUSE
      you were a fucking god among your mates
      and to boot, if you had a swimming pool..... You were god for life
      Now.. if that pool was INGROUND
      LOL
      that was like an unbelievable fantasy and it was grounds for you to tell your parents that your moving out to live with your mate
      How times have changed
      1970s early years , almost no one had a TV
      Now everyone does and to say you have a colour TV is a stupid statement
      back in the late 70s to have a colour TV was the shit
      then 2000s mobile's come in and almost no one had them
      back when call rates were $1 per 30 seconds with a $2.50 call flag fall
      back when you looked at your watch to keep the call under 30seconds
      today
      Everyone has a mobile
      and they talk on it for hours with no extra charge
      it's absolutely fucking amazing

      again, not the first broadcast, that goes back to the 1920's
      but THE THING THAT MATTERS, THE FIRST PUBLIC BROADCAST WHEN NORMAL PEOPLE HAD A TV AND COULD WATCH A SHOW
      THAT WAS 1950's

      No they aren't, i install TV's as part of what i do , 45"-65" is most common primarily as a result of the cheap prices
      now 70" - 95" is also common but less than 45-65
      and even 100" is not unheard of but more commonly installed in commercial locations,
      although i have installed them in residential, but it's rare, it's usually wealthier people that do that.
      i would say 120" is unheard of , definitely 150" because if you go up that high you don't buy a screen or panel, you install a video Wall instead which is made up of smaller panels that you can put together to install a screen to literally any size you want,
      you also have more flexibility than a standard screen and it's more durable
      but 70's are very common, and far from "Unheard of"

Buddy did the same thing to the racoon in the beginning of the movie putting his arms out where the racoon hissed at him causing him to back away at first but then continued trying to hug the racoon. Miles and Walter were both unintentionally sympathetic in this scene. Miles was basically being relentlessly mocked for his disability, something he had to work really hard to overcome, and Walter, as a result, had to helplessly watch a huge deal derail, which put him in danger of losing his job. Plus the fact that both of them repeatedly told Buddy to knock it off, but he just wouldn't stop. Therefore, you can't really blame either one of them for snapping the way they did.

    • @catguy4996
      @catguy4996 Před 2 lety +15

      True. Buddy may not have known that being called "Elf" is offensive to some, but he does understand to leave when his father asks him to. So he could've just gone back to the mail room. On top of everything else that was stressing out Walter, you can see why this incident made him finally snap

    • @Mario87456
      @Mario87456 Před 11 měsíci +7

      True while Buddy wasn’t trying to be insensitive since having grown up around elves most of his life it makes sense why he would think Miles was an elf, he didn’t get the hint that he should have stopped even though he was told to leave the room and Miles gave him plenty of warnings to stop he didn’t do that for some reason you can’t entirely blame either of them for losing it since as far as Miles is aware Buddy is mocking his dwarfism and just won’t knock it off even though he gave him several warnings to stop though getting physical with him was taking it too far and Walter having put up with Buddy’s weird behavior for weeks and having a potentially golden opportunity being unwittingly ruined by him that could have helped him out of his business troubles, it’s no wonder why he snapped and said some hurtful things in the heat of the moment though he did go a little too far in what he said. So yeah both had every right to be angry but they did not handle it in the best way possible.

    • @TheSocratesofAthens
      @TheSocratesofAthens Před 10 měsíci +2

      To be fair, Miles should have understood that there was something "off" about Buddy. It goes both ways. If someone lacks the capacity to grasp their actions and you have reason to know, you shouldn't use that as an excuse to take your anger out onto them. Buddy acted like a man-child and his father's reaction made it clear that the former wasn't fully aware of what was going on. It's not really Buddy's fault: he grew up in an extremely sheltered environment where no one really bore ill-will against anyone else. Further, Buddy made no effort to fight back and looked scared and confused. This is yet more evidence against Miles' behavior under the circumstances.

      Miles may have overreacted, but can you really blame him considering he thought Buddy was poking fun at his dwarfism?
      Likewise, Walter may have been in the wrong for taking his anger out on Buddy, but given that Buddy did ruin Walter’s last chance of saving his business, Walter has every right to be pissed off.

      What do you mean they have anger issues? If you didn’t notice violence was not the first thing Miles resorted to. He was in fact very calm about it at the start and brushed it off as a harmless joke. It wasn’t until he wouldn’t stop after being told numerous times to do so that he snapped. Walters anger is also very justifiable. This was a big business deal that could’ve saved his company but a bumbling idiot who he’s only known for a short amount of time just came in and ruined it. It may not have been what buddy was intending to do. But that doesn’t change the fact that he did it. Do I blame buddy? No I don’t but I also don’t blame Miles or Walter for being angry.
