Dave Skylark and his producer Aaron Rapaport run the celebrity tabloid show "Skylark Tonight". When they land an interview with a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Jong-Un Kim, they are recruited by the CIA to assassinate him.

In a strange way, he didn't actually do that. He followed the Supreme Leader's instructions exactly. His mark never came and could not, so he aborted the launch. Supreme obedience.

Not even 'despite the film'. its a shame that comedies often aren't viewed through a 'serious' lens, cause actually, really, this movie (as well as many other 'silly' comedies) is up there with the greatest movies in so many respects. The cinematography, subtext, complex psychology expressed in the most subtle gestures...

Fun fact, the team actual did a lot more in regards to Kim's face disintegrating/exploding, but ultimately had to tone it down and thus covered it with fire, they talked about this on CorridorCrew

Yeah completely unrealistic, obviously the great Kim would have had time to control the helicopter and dodge the shell. Because Kim also happens to be the best pilot in North Korea and probably the world.

2:15 my favourite scene is of this regular dude, he was hesitating with the button hand shacking, he knew the power of the he’s choice and consequences. So when he saw that his leader was dead, he chose his conscience.
That last song reminds me of a teacher I had for an university course, he really had a lot of energy and he used to play rock/metal songs in the beginning of the class. Then 3 weeks later he was replaced (for some reason) with a boring teacher that likes to fail everyone. I still miss that teacher.
Teachers that listen to rock/metal are always the best.
