As someone who works in production, I've seen the ups and downs of shooting RAW 4k/ 6k footage. On the one hand, it's clean and perfect for post editing. But on the other, you have to deal with storage and a strenuous work flow. Both cost you time and money. I personally think, if it's shot right, then you don't need this black hole of data; you can easily work with compressed footage and make it look just as good. Since these are mirrorless cameras, most of the time, you're shooting something that will end up on CZcams and watched on a mobile phone. Most 'film makers' don't know enough about real colour grading and they certainly don't shoot anything that requires a lot of post editing. 8-bit, 4k is still ideal.

You really don't. An Arri Alexa 35 has 17 stops of actual dynamic range. A phone camera might have 8-10 or something. Plus this is bigger, no HDR. You have so much more room to post process the Arri footage to way overpower the phone. Phones aren't black magic voodoo boxes, they're still limited by their sensor no matter how much they try to fake it.

Because some people want to use a Nikon/Sony/Panasonic/etc camera *and* get Raw output. Saying "oh just ignore all your other requirements and just use the same camera I do" is missing the point. Also, if the internal raw recording on ZCam was the perfect solution, why did they just release HDMI RAW output to Atomos recorders?

Not practical for most profession video work. Higher end projects are more likely to use log over raw. The space needed for the data and the additional time needed for the work flow. As a DP most of my work isn't even log. 709 baked in because of the time needed for log is too much. Most of the broadcast spots I've done where baked in 709 follow by log. Raw has a place it's simply prohibitive unless you have a reason. There are times when it's the perfect tool. Everything has time and place.

3:37 @Kai W: A note for you for using images from Wikipedia.
The image description page (commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pentax_K-01_5585.jpg) says that the author wants to be attributed as "Joergens.mi/Wikipedia". That is OK and you have done it.
However, section two says that you have to provide a "weblink to the original image" and section three requires you to add the licences URL. Unless you get an extra permission by the original author you have to follow these requirements. As section 7.a) of the legalcode of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 licence clearly states: If you don't follow the licence's guidelines your rights granted by the licence (eg. to share, modify and use this image) are terminated. Adding the required info to the info section usually is not enough since the video can be shared without the info section below the video.
I tell you this is because I have been working on Wikipedia for over 10 years now and I also uploaded quite a few images licenced under Creative Commons licences. So often I see people just don't give a flying dildo about your copyright. If an image can be used _free of charge_ does not imply that the use is free from requirements.
Just to be clear about the licence conditions: Unless you have that sweet extra permission by the author, you did not follow the licence. The licence therefore does not apply to your usage which means you violated this users copyright and that he can sue you for using his image without his permission.

Resolve is definitely better for color grading but learning a whole other video editor is time consuming. I’m quite well versed in premiere pro but resolve is very different.
