The hopium is flowing freely through the air! Except through my sinuses... Which are currently no-bueno. Sorry about that! So what do you think peeps, what can we expect with Pyro's eventual arrival? And who am i seeing at CitizenCon? Please come up and say hi if you are going, I'm the creep in the video! Cheeeers.
2:30 100% it really is that simple. Just sam-sites, as has been used irl and in every other game the past 15 years to prevent air superiority. I mean heck just look at Command & Conquer lol. I think that's the best solution. It means that solo players have 2 options. 1. Land outside and use a ground vehicle to get closer. 2. Slowly and meticulously risk ship after ship in taking out the sam-site, but it should still be a choice, if you have a Tali or something. And for huge orgs, they could overwhelm the air defences if they wanted to, and thats the benefit of being multi-crew.
Im honestly just excited to fly through and see the new planets and locations. Not expecting anything to be ironed out the first iteration so if nothing else we’ll have a pretty new system to look at.
I am exited about everything they will show off at citizencon! Pyro ofcourse at the top with stuff like the new flight model and maelstrom system. I hope Pyro will be that top notch stuff we saw at citizencon earlier, although the insights we have seen last year at citcon have let me down a bit. Anyway, still hopeful :D
Something id like to see when it comes to ground combat is the use of underground areas that are big enough for ground vehicles but inaccessible for any flying ship this could be achieved with no fly zones, entrance height and width or just the room available in caves making ships obsolete in that environment anyway, it probably shouldn't ever make since that you would both attack from aerospace and the ground at the same time since you can just bombard from the sky, so make missions and environments underground and have an actual inverse reason to not use bombardment tactics. would love to see a squad of 4 tanks dropped off at an entrance by a carrier (h2 or something) then enter in a deep cave that is PITCH black. - thats the only way I can see ground combat work.
I think you made very good points that show the huge potential of Pyro! It's the embodiment of high risk, high reward gameplay. My pessimistic take however is that at this point, CIG might release Pyro before finishing (static) server meshing and this could severely limit many of the system-to-system gameplay opportunities, like trading, blockades at jump points or hunting players and NPCs from Stanton to Pyro. This could also create huge performance issues, because Pyro was probably designed with server meshing as a foundation in mind. If they have to run Pyro on a single server, it might be too much. Should they decide to wait and release Pyro when server meshing is ready, I think we will have to wait a lot longer until it makes it into the game.
with every advancement made in the development of star citizen i am hopefully. ive been more hopeful and excited about the tech they're developing. if for whatever reason CIG does not cross the "finish line" of completing the PU, what they have developed surely can be used for other games. tech such as persistence would be very much welcomed in MMO & FPS games.
I want to believe but at the same time I don't want to be disappointed again. Hope is the only thing in the tank at the moment but the fuel light is on... fingers crossed. Great video, with some really nice memory clips thrown in! Much love mate and the MERCH IS NEXT LEVEL!!! Keep up the awesome work. o7
Could not make it more than 1:29, i guess i am too old for this, have seen it too many times... I tell you what is happeninng: - Lots of money spent into a fake demo that never gets implemented, only marketing purposes zero game impact, outrageous claims about improvement totally missguiding - New backers comment amazed with the lies, old backers like you and me try to prevent the anual scam. Controversia generates more online traffic - A thousand fools are born every day + online traffic + pretty graphics = more money to spend on marketing demo next year Then repeat the process, every year gets better because more fools are born and more old backers generate controversy as they realize the scam... I once was a new backer in 2016 when they lured me with pyro and a sandworm. I really thought bv the way they explained, pyro was ready to be implemented that same year (no joke). Old backers tried to warn me, i called them haters and told them the next jesus tech (object container streaming at the time) would open the floodgates of fast progress in a few months, 7 years laters still developing tools to develop tools.
Just ignore all the things in the game that are not in any other game and ignore other "released" games that didn't release with what star citizen had for years.
Im not hopeful for initial release, but am long term. I don't expect the balance to be right to both allow miners/salvagers/transporters to be able to enjoy Pyro enough to deal with the risk for a bit. I sorta expect pirates to be able to abuse the jump point on the Pyro side for a while which will make their own gameplay boring unless there are good NPC missions like you mention to take them deeper into the system. Even then I think a few skilled fighter pirates could shutdown the jump point unless CIG put resources into pushing them back. I don't think Pyro should be an easy journey for anyone, but I do think combat needs to be pushed back from the jump point to give players a chance. Escorts could become important, but reputation needs to be built up quite a bit for people to trust randos with their cargo going through the choke points of Pyro.
Thanks for watching butler, and good points, i agree to some extent. I guess we need the 'alternate routes' for some players to be able to bypass the gate's, and/or there will be some sort of AI 'control' in place at either side to give players a fighting chance.
@@DTOXTV that's my hope. I actually want bad actors to be able to create chaos on occasion at the jump points, but there needs to be consequences. Hopefully it scales for when orgs bring 6 Polaris' when it is released haha.
As much as i want to be hyped about pyro, cig has hyped us and teased us about pyro for a few years now, so at this point im more in the camp of "give me it in a playable state with all that has been promised and il belive you"
You are wrong, there is 1 very good reason to use a ground vehicle over anything else. Bunkers. If we get a whole planet that's 99% covered in storms with plenty to discover via ground vehicles, that would be AWESOME! I can't wait to hop into a Lynx.
I'm excited to check out pyro every once in a while or just do some sight seeing but I don't think I'd spend a ton of time in there. I'm more excited for the prospect of the project moving towards a major milestone. I'd be very interested in running supplies into the system though as that sounds really fun
Fact is no one seen the Jump Points, 3.21 PTU and F8C coming, we pretty much never get stuff like that before Citcon but people still whining it will come a year later and can't admit they're wrong. You'd think with all the work CIG has done to set the ground work for this people would be happy, at least we have an FOV slider and HDR slider, didn't have to wait after release for one either.
im not as excited with pyro as others are , i can see myself doing small expeditions but outside of that i just dont think it will take me out of stanton as i feel it will be mostly broken and not worth the rewards CIG tends to put in
@@DTOXTVI haven't followed the game's development for a while, but I see everyone talking about what to do in Pyro. So I wanted to ask you, are you sure they're launching Pyro? Or is it just another demo?
Maybe... But 3.0 released with a LOT of stuff and that was 'never coming out' for so long, too. I was there Gandalf... There when 3.0 dropped. It was a new grade of copium... I think I'm hoping Pyro will ship similarly, with some of these features crossing over from what we have now but worked into Pyro... Granted some of this is a little cpium... But none of it would requires a huge amount of new dev. They have to have been doing SOMETHING with Pyro since 2021... Right?! RIGHT?!
Remember when people said volumetric clouds wouldn't come out or even be like they showed, and like magic it was not long after. Jump points in but people putting their nose up at it, a ship just released people been waiting for years to everyone for an event yet people still moaned. If CIG release 100 systems tomorrow people still wouldn't be thankful and find a reason to moan like nothing to do and say it's like Starfield

I think most of what you want out of Pyro will come to pass but I also think we should temper our expectations for the first iteration.
I don't know whats become of me, im feeling hopeful Arch...

Dangerous weather would be very cool. I really enjoy SC ground vehicles, so having a real reason to use them would be great.

I think your idea to be able to join the other side of Xenothreat via Pyro recruitment is genius.

Nice video Dtox! A fresh breath of copium is welcome in moderation! Especially when theres so much negativity around in the community lately
Cheers jezzy! Good to give into the cope now and then.
Like ever year, we can expect a lot of PROMISES and then another 10 years of excuses why they were not implemented

I wouldn't get too excited. It could all just end up being another marketing ploy on CIG's part to drive sales over the Citcon and Alien week events.

Make it really expensive or hard to hover in atmo and you'll have fixed the ground based vehicle issue.
once you penetrate into the astral sphincter, anything is possible

Prepare to be ganked over and over and over again in pyro. that is all that is going to happen there.
