Does anyone else think Chuck has a voice made for radio. He has a very good speaking voice.
I need to start a podcast 😂
Yes he absolutely does have a great speaking voice made for radio.
@@kevinscott3271 yes chucks voice is made for radio and podcast
He could do traffic reports from his tractor.
I think he should do podcasts on trucking
I just recently stumbled upon your channel chuck . Ans i have to say being a fellow truck driver , local and I deliver milk to walmart’s , gas stations , schools , nursing homes and everything in between i never thought i would get this much joy out of watching another person do the same thing . Since i found your channel i have been watching every single night . And i have to say you do an amazing job showing the life us local drivers lead . I love my job and i can tell you do to , thank you for the great content and keep it up ill be here watching after my long delivering myself
I appreciate you stopping by the channel Ryan! I try and give the general public a small glimpse into what’s it’s like to be a truck driver in the city. Stay safe and thank you for all your service to your community.
Chuck i wanted to say i absolutely love your p and d videos. i recently just started driving for ODFL as a combo driver in PA, i mostly do swaps but its nice to see actual pick up and deliveries in action in your videos. May God bless you in all your days!
Much success to you driver and thank you for following along!!
I worked for Overnite/UPS Freight for over 20 years. I worked dock, city and road over that time. Being a “ road driver” for them was probably the easiest money I ever made but I liked my hybrid job of starting on the dock then doing short pud to finish the day as well. Never having a specific bid route really helped me become a better driver. One day I’d be delivering downtown in some very tight situations another day I might be on an out of town route out in the country . I actually still miss it!
You ran freight at night from hub to hub? What does that pay roughly? I may look for something new and I’d rather be on night work when nobody is around.
wow, looks like deliveries in your area are easy-going. In the case of the 3rd delivery where you had to follow the customer to another warehouse, here in Los Angeles area this would be a major ordeal. Receiver can not simply re-route a shipment to another location. First the dispatch needs to be notified of the delivery address change request, then the freight company will contact the shipper for approval of address change, then there might be a delivery address change fee of around $50 per pallet, then, depending on how long this takes, the shipment might go back to the HUB and scheduled for re-delivery on another day, off course that means storage charges for as many days it takes to reschedule the delivery. All in all this little delivery location change can cost the shipper (or receiver) easily a few hundred dollars, depending on how many pallets were shipped.
I have one more day of P&D here at my terminal and I am back to line haul, only having 9 months experience OTR and very limited experience backing anything via line haul, I gotta say man, I wish these companies would spend some time training us for situations and different types of backs instead of just putting you in a truck and say have at it 😂😂
It’s been a great experience working the docks as well as P&D work, I learned a ton and met some truly fine folks along the way.
Thanx Chuck for all you do brother, be safe in your travels and god bless !!!
Chuck how many Tm are calling your barn trying recruit you? You have one the best attitudes regardless of situation and represent the company to fullest. I don’t think I caught ya complain about anything in all videos I watch.
Hats of to ya sir!
Ur right
I have had other companies reach out but Estes is a good fit for me currently anyways. I appreciate the comment Jeremy!
Another successful day. Chuck you make it look so easy. A great job with the customer. Like the way you do things. Have a great rest of the week.
Thanks Gerald, have a blessed weekend sir
lol I see ya pointed out the pre pro number on the bill lol thanks CHUCK for that.
I sure enjoy your videos as you take me back many years when I was doing P and D and yes good and bad days.
You lean something everyday and remember the good calls and the bad calls.
Im hooked on these videos, only just passed my car license but one day i will be behind the wheel of a truck although i live in England and the trucks are smaller it still counts right ? 🤣
With your passion, it's clear you have diesel in your veins! I drove a school bus here in the US. As long as you LOVE commercial vehicles and diesel engines, and operating safely and professionally, you are part of our "order". Cheers to all our diesel head brothers and sisters in the UK!
You have a bright future Dom, much success to you sir!!
Chuck go back to the old outro music! a highlight of your videos!
Alright Chuck, what the craziest or weirdest thing you have delivered? Mine was a casket for a funeral home. They even unboxed it and inspected it before signing. Love working for Estes. Every day is a new adventure!!
I have delivered a casket to a persons house because the funeral home didn’t have what they were looking for. They had terminal cancer and figured they would buy their own.
First stop yesterday was Time Critical Guaranteed. I get the and they have 1 dock with their semi truck parked in it and the only guy who has a CDL won't be back until 1700. I had to pull their truck out of the dock then make the delivery and put their truck back in the dock. Took 30min vs 5min if the dock was open
Yea, sometimes something that should be so simple takes what seems like forever and messes up the flow of the route.
Some of the p@d drivers and dock workers are not getting 40 hours a week right now. Its slow and we dont know what fall and winter will bring. I believe some some of the dock workers may have quit because i have not seen them in a while. Times are kind of strange right now. Hopefully this downturn wont be the new norm. Be patient and dont make any quick decisions folks just take some deep breaths and think about what to do. You are right some days not bad others you just try and get through it as best you can.
Freight has definitely slowed down even in our area but others are definitely seeing it worse than us. Going to be an interesting next 6 months
I have an interview for P/D with the Estes terminal I applied for. This has given a lot of insight to the job. Thanks!!!
What terminal?
If you every do a lift gate delivery, definitely film that one. Stay safe!
We have dedicated drivers that do lift gate routes. I have some older videos where I did some lift gate work.
Wait, i thought P&D stood for Potatoes and Dumplings. Lol
😂😂
Chuck, you need to make a learn how to back tutorial or something. All those damn one shot docks impress the hell out of me lol
Some days are definitely better than others. 😂. I appreciate the comment sir!! 👊🏻
You know what they say. Sometimes you’re the windshield and sometimes you’re the bug.
You said " one of the old trailers". Lol
The old trailers are the 530001 kind with wood walls and dark as a cave. We used ratchet spreader bars to secure freight
I had one of those today 😂
love how he is like "oh you need to go to the other location, you can fallow me.." he then jumps in a van drives off leaving the semi in the dust.....
😂😂
Hey Chuck I'm staying in Tulsa tonight, first time in a while. Gotta say the Pilot here is pretty sketchy! 😂. Stay safe man! I will be back to doing LTL myself soon, just got that itch for flatbed, well itch and the money being offered was good lol. As always love the videos man! Stay safe!!
😂😂 Yes sir, I always recommend the QT if you can find a spot early. No showers but allot better experience. Stay safe out there driver!!
@@TheTulsaTrucker ya I left at 2:30am today I had to get the hell out of there 😂. But I appreciate the tip man! Driving in yesterday I was eyeing all the Estes guys looking for ya 😂.
Love your videos brother, running LH right now but I miss the city. Keep it up and stay safe!
Thank you sir, I headed back to LH in January 🤣
Hay Chuck you must went back and pick a nother trailer cause that back door was not all scratch up like the first one.😀🤟💪🏁🍺🇺🇸
Yes sir
Sorry buddy I’m late to the party…. I mean comment section 😅. Great video as always buddy.
Thanks for the video, great entertainment and quality as always! 👍🏻👌🏻
👊🏻
Thanks Chuck another great video. I watched Rick today C8 Z06 are a nite mare to get Supply Chains issues.
The C8 has been a mess and it’s unfortunate because it’s an awesome corvette. Hopefully in a few years they can get everything straightened out. Have a great weekend Mike
Would be cool to see more on how you handle damage pallets. I'm at saia and some of the customers write subject to inspection when a box is a bit crushed
Yes sir we get the same, luckily I don’t see allot of those on my route
Hej Chuck this vas a good video you has made. hallo from Denmark.
I appreciate that Thomas
Thanks for the ride. Stay safe in journeys and in life
Much appreciated bill 👊🏻
Another great video Chuck, thanks!!
Chuck I had two deliveries in Tulsa last week my electric jack was not working had manually jacked in 20 heavy pallets did get a little customer help not much so I know what your talking about !! Lol
Heavy pallets are no fun 😁
amazing new outro song. love it
More great content. Have you ever had any bloopers on docks?
All the time 😂
Chuck, do you ever use the load bars? Another great video. Keep ‘‘em coming dude!
I do for keeping totes and chemicals from moving around too much if I’m out of straps or need a backboard.
Does your terminal have home delivery routes where you’re taking a lift gate trailer into neighborhoods and backroads delivering to houses? I used to be on a ‘final mile’ account and sometimes that was interesting. I do enjoy a challenge! 🤣
We use too, now we use 3rd parties for that.
Every warehouse should be required to have a forklift.
Would be nice
When are they going to get you a better pallet jack? That sounds like it's had better days
Probably won’t get another one before going back to LH in January
025 pittsburgh pa, 12 years on p&d. never searched estes on youtube but you came up in my recommendations, good attitude. good job
I appreciate that driver, thanks for the great work up in PA. I’m sure we have pushed some of the same freight 👍🏻
@@TheTulsaTrucker amen to that
Another great video but i like the other ending song better
Also noticed you changed your ending song too
Just for that vlog,
Just one of those days
Yes sir
Another great video
👊🏻
Chuck you need to have a contest for a free Estees hat!😂
I plan on doing that during the holidays!!
Do you got to the same places everyday or is it totally different all the time?
Good Video
Thanks Mark 👊🏻
I have watched many of videos and never have seen any load straps or load bars put in place just wondering why
This is a very small glimpse into my day. Several are used.
Don't you just love the deliveries that have the incorrect address on the waybill? SMH. I know it's part of the job, but you'd think that your dispatch people would verify addresses of the clients.
It doesn’t happen often thankfully
Hey Chuck! Hope y'all are havin a good week. What is your prefer single axle or dual for city delivery? Would y'all prefer drivin a automatic or standard shift transmission?
Single in the city for sure and auto in the city if it’s a 12sp auto shift if a 10sp would recommend the manual
Do you take your pallet stop with you every day or does Estes provide those for your trailer so your pallet jack doesn't move around?
I have it chained to my pallet jack, they do not provide one.
For those long pallets do you put inside delivery on the bills?
Only if it’s requested
do you not have to secure your pallets to the trailer?
Not unless they need it.
I was offered a job doing P&D. but at the end of the day I was told I have to break the trailer down to reload the line haul trailer. I'm not sure if I want to do the dock work also. Any thoughts ? Thanks.
No dock work at estes unless you want the extra hours
Chuck. Do you have any idea how far you walk in a typical p&d day?
4-5 miles on average according to my Apple Watch 👍🏻
Another day another dollar.
Is your truck a 10 speed manual stick shift or automatic
12 speed auto shift
I wood like to what you do bud
👍
👊🏻
What video editing software do you use
Final Cut Pro 10
@@TheTulsaTrucker oh wow that's that heavy duty mac editor ain't it
Hello chuck
👊🏻
How is going bud
Hey Randall
In the ghetto. Stay strapped or get clapped.
😂😂. I have flash backs to Alexandra when I’m in that area
