The new leader of the UK gives a good impression. Very good for europe and for all free and democratic nations in the world.

Great to see UK is working closely with EU again. Things can only get better.
Technically this is the Council of Europe, founded years before the first iteration of the EU. Responsible to uphold Human Rights on the European continent, hence the ECHR, European Court of Human Rights. Every country on this continent was a member, until 2022 when ruzzia & Belarus left.
None of this has officially anything to do with the EU, which is why the whinging of brexiters against the ECHR are so incredibly stupid.
But granted there is quite a bit of overlap between the Council of Europe, the EU & NATO as many countries are members of one or more of those organisations. And naming practices in the EU aren't helping things...

Starmer literally visited Kyiv in February as opposition leader to speak to Zelensky, and publicly voiced his support for Ukraine against Russia. His position on Ukraine was quite clear. It’s one of the reasons I voted for him.
If he didn’t campaign on it, that’s because it’s one of the few points that Labour were actually aligned with the Conservatives on, so there was no point using it in an election contest as the priority would campaigning based on where they differ.

The majority of people in the UK now would re-establish EU membership according to the most recent polling data. That's something which future generations can decide on. Right now, we have to be grown up enough to realise that though there might not be the appetite to join the EU again, we most certainly must recognise that this country is better with grown up politicians prepared to fix things in collaboration with our EU partners. We are a great country and when we work with ALL our friends and allies we are better for it. Keir Starmer and the new Labour government have my full support in this mission.

Where was respect for democracy when we supported the 2014 Ukraine coup. Where is the danger for NATO Europe when Russia cant even take Ukraine. Starmer complains about Russia visiting our Border but we are on his permanently. Our sanctions have simply blown back at us in higher cost of living while China India buy cheap Russian energy.
