    This is a wonderful story about the exceptional relationship between Charlotte, Carl and Valegro. Perhaps a minor note, but I was disappointed the documentary did not acknowledge Laura Bechtolsheimer as the 3rd member of the 2012 Olympic Gold Team.

    I cry every time I watch them at London 2012; I don’t think we will see the likes of them again. If we do it won’t be for a long time. I admire her so much for retiring Valegro.

    Even as a "poor person which most of us are" every one in clouding me were surprised when I got a blue ribbon in dressage...I got my first blue ribbon when I was 12 or 15 I carnt remember now because I'm 55 it was the driving force of why I love dressage!! I have had many blue ribbons since!! I just started back 2023 and I got a blue ribbon for a walk trot test on a horse that's 15 as he was challenging and I had 8 years off bring up an autistic daughter. So yes hang on in there! Now heading for my second test officially soon only adult riders not as high as Charlotta but the a reminder that drive is important! Happy safe riding everyone 🇦🇺🤗🇦🇺💕

    She was right when she said during Valegro's retirement ride that he owes her nothing, going out on a high note.

    I'm not sure, if Charlotte will ever read my comment, but within 2 years of ownership of my first horse, I could only rely on her, on the videos from her shows. I've started to ride my unbroken 5 year old half-blind stallion. Nobody could tell me how to ride, how to find that connection and flow with your horse, but every single day I've been rewatching her videos and eventually got to the First level with my horse and will move forward. Even after I've moved to Wellington and has found a Grand Prix trainer, I'm still looking at her and improve myself by repeating every single detail she demonstrates at her rides. And, yes, definitely she's a genius!

    This gave me actual goospimiples! I was lucky enough to win a competition to visit Carl's yard last year. I felt the same as Charlotte when I was there it was a dream come true and I also couldnt even string a proper sentance together. Charlotte describing how she felt brought it all back to me. It was one of the best days of my life, ever ever ever.

    champion documentary. Charlotte Dujardin is the epitome of what #sportshero means. I loved the insight into Charlotte’s & Valegro’s relationship. I have experienced the feelings of how it is when you are so connected. The gift of an animal’s trust. When their personality is part of the conversation, as it should be, it’s beyond magical feeling to receive such gifts. Chapot to all who were part of the team making history.

    The discussion about the stress of dealing with the public, esp the press, after achieving great heights in her sport reminded me of how hard a time Naomi Osaka had with the press. It's prob worse for Naomi because tennis is a much more popular, better known sport than Grand Prix dressage, but it's too bad the public can't just back off. And it's not always the reporters. It's their editors, for whom "backing off" isn't an option. If they could at least ask more empathetic questions!

    Such an amazing story
    So much to glean
    I was trying to think if there was one just bring it down to one thing what is it..... yes we all know it is not ever one thing there is so much on so many levels required of a person doing anything .... character passion discipline courage support .... and loads more ..... but still is there perhaps one thing ?
    Out of what was said here I think what sounds out clear to me was ...mum said call Carl ask for lessons and from her requesting please Carl asked her to come help the holiday season whilst staff was short.... it all would never have happened had mom not suggested had Charlotte not called ... and you know what that kinda of comes down to something I beleive ... right place right time !
    Yes of course this entire team rider instructor horse parents grooms .... are connected balanced supportive united ...

    • @ellengladders2883
      @ellengladders2883 Před rokem +2

      He is not uncomfortable, the frothing and mouthing shows his mouth is comfortable. It’s a good thing. Charlotte is well known for having great hands and so her horses have happy mouths.

    • @ellengladders2883
      @ellengladders2883 Před rokem +2

      When a horse froths at the mouth it means his mouth is comfortable and producing saliva. If a horse is tense and unhappy his mouth will go dry and so to see froth is a good thing.
