A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ CZcams. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of CZcams I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on CZcams won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This CZcams channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

You’re delving into one of the greatest singers in rock ‘n’ roll. He sang in Black Sabbath, rainbow, and he went solo under Dio. Ronnie James Dio is a legend!!
R. I. P. Ronnie!
Don't forget ELF...
Befor rainbow hexwas in a ban called elf
Ha, You thought it was Ronnie James but it was me, Dio all along
Dio with elf czcams.com/video/iKggZY_X3O0/video.html
@@rednoiseful I legit thought it was going to be a jojo meme, but I'm not disappointed
Man on the Silver Mountain, when he sang for Rainbow.
Try to make it the live version. The studio version is alright, but the live version is on a whole other plane of Rock & Roll.
Didn't he sing for Sabbath for a bit?
@@jamesagwe2981 Yes, but I think that may have been after Rainbow. It was after Ozzy left. Their first album together was Heaven and Hell which is a great album.
I worked with a guy that saw Ozzy's solo act in the early 80s, he has a story where they went to a record store and Ozzy was there to promote it. They asked him what he thought of the new Black Sabbath and he stomped his feet theatrically and declared he hated Ronnie James Dio.
Checkout "Man on the Silver Mountain" and "Star Gazer" by his older band Rainbow.
Dude, this is definitely a metal song. It’s like the epitome of classic metal. Metal is a sub-type of rock.
Recommend Dio: “Rainbow in the Dark” or “I Speed at Night.”
Since you mentioned "I Speed At Night", I thought of "Strange Highways", which is another good one.
and We Rock and Egypt (The Chains Are On)
@Gerry C,
I agree with NotANameist, because it's basically the same, but harder, though Dio and Ozzy are examples of being considered both Rock and Metal, showing my point. Steppenwolf, that was first considered Metal, is what most most fans of Rock and Metal consider just Rock, at least in retrospect. Metal might have some other influences that Rock doesn't, but even Black Sabbath, which is what Metalheads would most likely consider the first Metal band, admitted to having some Blues influence, which is a good bit of what Rock was influenced by.
Most Metal bands are quite different than regular Rock bands, though. Some people have called Van Halen, which is my favorite Rock band, Metal, but I know that isn't true; they're Hard Rock, which is no put down, because Hard Rock is good stuff, and I hope he rests in peace, but Eddie Van Halen will live on.
I recommend elf - nevermore
You left out “The Last in Line”! Another classic DIO cut!
Black Sabbath - Heaven and hell
With Ronnie James Dio
Oh hell yes ! Children of the sea and sign of the southern cross.
"Time Machine (Wayne's World Soundtrack Version)"
Yes
R.I.P🙏.....Ronnie James Dio
R.I.P.
Metal is Rock and Roll for sure. It's the heaviest part. Hence Heavy Metal Forever!
My dude, please also listen from Dio: Rainbow in the Dark, & Last in Line
"The Last In Line" is my absolute favorite Dio song.
Yes, metal is a type of rock. And there are many different types of metal now.
"Stargazer" by Rainbow is a pretty iconic Dio AND Blackmore moment...
Ronnie is from my hometown. Another vote for Man on the Silver Mountain when he sang for Rainbow
Metal is rock, just heavy. Hence the head banging caused by it lol.
AC/DC was called Metal by some but they said they consider just rock and roll.
Definitely check out The Last In Line...
Yes, Ronnie James Dio. One of the best voices.
Last in line
Heaven and Hell
Just another day
Hungry for Heaven
Another lie and many others.
Another vote for Hungry for Heaven.
Dio: The little man with the Big voice. He can sing his proverbial arse off.
Arguably one of the best male rock voices ever. Ronnie Dio RIP
"Last in line" next
More Dio:
Don't Talk to Strangers
Rainbow in the Dark
Invisible
Caught in the Middle
Gypsy
man on the silver mountain
the last in line
"All The Fools Sailed Away" "Last In Line" "When A woman Cries" "Straight Through the Heart" "Sunset Superman" "Dream Evil" "Night People"
Shame on the night
@@ZaveAres "And Shame On You..."
Can't believe I didn't list that...!!!
Shame on ME...!
All AWESOME
"The Last in Line"
Ronnie James Dio was once the lead singer of Black Sabbath. After parting ways he became a solo artist under his last name "Dio". He passed away in 2010 from stomach cancer. I saw him perform in 1987 and he sounded awesome in person. Great singer/songwriter. RIP
Dio - The little man with a big voice! One of the nicest men you could’ve met! Rainbow In The Dark! RIP DIO
Dio is one of the greatest metal singers of all time and one of the greatest songwriters also🤘🤘👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
James, In Jack Black's film "School of Rock" he shows a family tree of Rock on the chalkboard. It's a good movie you should watch it, maybe even react to it. However the point I want to get across is to search google images for 'school of rock family tree' to find an image that shows the relationships between various types of music.
"Stand Up And Shout" from same album
Check Dio out in the Black Sabath album "Heaven and Hell".Listen to Kneon Nights,Heaven and Hell and Wishing Well...I love this album
It was Me, Dio!
“Is metal rock or it’s own genre?”
Yes
Dio is a godfather of metal
Metal to me is subjective. And if there is such thing as metal it is a subgenre of rock. Note he has a song called rock n roll children not heavy metal children.
@@timlamb9428,
There's also, "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll".
Dio also introduced the universal sign for Metal.
people forget Meme Dio is named after Ronnie lol
Dio rest in peace .
Last in line!!
This *IS* a Metalhead Song, my dude...
Right. I don't understand the debate.
my favorite song with DIO is Tarot Woman from the Rainbow album: Rising
Dio was also the singer of one of the first metal bands, «Black Sabbath» for about 4 years. Aswell as Rainbow, another great band.
Ronnie James Dio is the master of metal. He passed in 2010 from cancer, but left a legacy that no other can match. Dio was around for 40+ years doing what most metal bands wish they could only do.
I'll subscribe when I see just how far you are willing to go on this journey.
Great reaction to the king of metal. Pease bro.
Denton
When Ronnie James Dio was with Black Sabbath, they did The Mob Rules. That song was featured in the movie Heavy Metal.
For a different appreciation of Holy Diver, you should do a cover if it done by a very young group of teen ager siblings called Liliac. The entire group is doing serious homage to Dio, but the 17 year old sister really is something incredible. I highly recommend you check them out.
Definitely check out The Last in Line by Dio...
Ronnie James Dio had one of the most unique voices in rock and it didn’t change in his live shows. Meaning what you hear is Dio’s voice with no electronic embellishments.
Everything DIO put out from the early years with Ritchie Blackmores RAINBOW. To BLACK SABBATH to his solo works are a MASTERPIECE. He has a large library of great music to give to the whole world.
This man was a musical , lyrical, and theatrical wizard! Plus a rare good person . Had the honor of meeting him when I was about 13 I'm 48 now he was truly amazing took time to talk answered even my dumbest questions and gave me his total attention in a crazy busy place. But more than that his music tells his true story the millions who appreciated his music lost a truly great man when he passed but I am happy knowing he will live on forever in his music . I turned my own daughters on to him and it's one thing we still enjoy together
R. I. P RONNIE THIS WORLD IS DARKER AND SADDER WITHOUT YOU . HOPE THE VERY BEST OF YOUR LAST JOURNEY IS THE VERY WORST OF YOUR NEXT BROTHER
But there are many little lights he lit.
Dio (solo band):
Egypt (The Chains Are On)
The Last In Line
Stand Up and Shout
Shame on the Night
Don't Talk to Strangers
Straight Through the Heart
Rainbow in the Dark
Wild One
Dio with Black Sabbath:
Sign of the Southern Cross
I
The Devil Cried
Mob Rules
Die Young
Falling off the Edge of the World
Heaven and Hell
Dio with Rainbow:
Stargazer
Starstruck
Kill the King
Man on the Silver Mountain
The VERY FIRST song I learned to play on bass. Ronnie James Dio is a legend in the rock and metal community. The holy diver album alone is nothing but one great song after another.
Please react to an earlier song by Dio. It's titled Neon Knights and Dio sang it when he was in Black Sabbath in 1980.
Ronnie James Dio has been in music since late 50s doing doowop. He wad Born in NY. He past away from stomach cancer around 2008. In early 70s he played in Elf. Then around 1975 he joined Ritchie Blackmore to play in Rainbow. After Rainbow he left, then played with Black Sabbath after Ozzy left. Then he started DIO. After Dio he played in Black Sabbath for 1 album. Then started DIO back up. Then around mid 2004 he and Tony Iommi, geezer, and can't think of drummer.
But they formed Heaven and Hell. Heavy band. Then late 2000s he passed from cancer. Long live Dio!!
Dio is the shit man . There are so many epic songs ! 🤙👍
DIO is the best metal singer who has ever lived. Heaven and hell , man on the silver mountain , straight through the heart , rainbow in the dark. You will love
Dip “The Last in Line” or “Evil Eyes”
Dio-“Last in Line” “Rainbow CB in the dark” are a couple off the top of my list, Dio was a great group!!!
Dio is definitely metal and in a class all by himself. Seeing him live ib concert was an experience like none other. RIP Ronnie James Dio. Glad to see you get to this. As a black man, this makes me smile.
Dude, I seriously feel you in this video. Im 53 years old and still smashing my steering wheel or dashboard while listening to DIO. This journey has been going since I was 16
Awesome reaction! Ronnie James Dio was definitely one of the best voices in metal!
Rainbow in the dark - great song and will get the most views
Last in line
Hungry for heaven
Dream evil
Just a great band
He also was one of the singers for Black Sabbath and Rainbow
With that huge voice you'd think Dio was 8 ft tall! All that comes out of a 5'4" dude!
This is pure heavy metal, this is pure gold.
Dio's "Don't talk to Strangers" and "Falling off the Edge of the World" from his Sabbath day's are two of the best.
Love it. Thank you!!
Ive had the privilege of seeing RJD several times live, solo and with Black Sabbath, and he was such an incredible singer and performer...R.I.P.!!!
Ronnie James Dio is considered one of the very best Rock singers ever. Everyone would put him in the top ten and some in the top five. The man was a powerhouse.
You've gotta do "In Hell I'll Be In Good Company" by The Dead South. It's different
I think you’d probably like The Bridge City Sinners.
I never expected this song from from some nice Canadian boys. Its incredible.
Dio was the one who popularized, if not created, the 'rock horns' gesture, where you close your fist and hold up just the index and pinky finger. I might be remembering it wrong but there was an interview where he talked about his mother explaining the devil horns
Yes, he popularized the Sign of the Horns 🤘, and I’m grateful to him for that, but I really wish he would’ve credited the first band who introduced the Sign to the musical world: Coven. It was Jinx Dawson of Coven who was the first to use the Sign in a musical/performative context.
At least Dio didn’t try to trademark the American Sign Language sign for “I love you” 🤟 like Gene Simmons did, though.
This is 80’s metal. Dio was only 5’4” but he was a vocal POWERHOUSE. I never saw him live but I’m pretty sure he grew 2’ every time he opened his mouth. Sadly, he died way too young. If you’re going to do another of his, Last in line is a good choice and there is an official video for it on youtube.
Ronnie James Dio was originally in the band Rainbow and then replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath before forming Dio. So there is many great songs for you to react too.
Well done young man!! Well done!!
All the fools sailed away is another great song. R.I.P Ronnie James Dio.
Metal IS Rock & Roll!
This song is one of the purest metal songs ever made. Metal doesn't have to be fast or had a million solos. Just has to be heavy.. and have attitude.
Dude u got it! U just gotta head bang like u we're doing and just go with it. Rock on!!
Rainbow in the Dark🔥🔥🔥
Heaven and Hell🔥🔥🔥
Love the way you do reactions. Probably one of the best. A couple of songs you may like are last in line, and rainbow in the dark. Keep up the good reactions and videos.
Metal is a subgenre of rock. Metal is characterized by it's dark, fantasy, angry, etc. themes and it's "heavy" distorted sounds and also often virtuosic playing and singing.
Metal is Rock... great reaction !!
Absolutely one of the best rock/metal singers of all time. love love love RJD.
It's so crazy how I can still remember all the lyrics to so many of the songs I have watched u react to! I think I still have my Holy Diver cassette tape!!🤣
Ronny James Dio is a metal GOD! One of the greatest of all time!
Loved your reaction!! You could see in your face that the music was getting to you... New Sub!
Dio w/ Rainbow gates of Babylon.... and nice message you said at the end about following ones' dreams!
Ronnie James Dio is the best voice of metal! Holy diver is a real masterpiece. Please, react "heaven and hell" another epic song by him. We all miss Dio every day of our life. This world needs Dio, he was an humble, good, nice person ad well 💔
"Gypsy" another song on that same album, "She could crack your brain with magic pain"
DIO : song The last in line , Don't talk to strangers ,Rainbow in the dark
The purest form of rock ‘n’ roll his 50s rock ‘n’ roll. that’s when it started
Dio - The Last In Line (Official Music Video) -- czcams.com/video/360xvnsduDg/video.html
Ronald James Padavona (July 10, 1942 - May 16, 2010), known professionally as Ronnie James Dio, was an American heavy metal singer-songwriter and composer. He fronted or founded numerous groups throughout his career, including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio, and Heaven & Hell.
Dio is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential heavy metal artists of all time. He is known for popularizing the "Metal Horns" hand gesture in metal culture and his medieval-themed song lyrics. According to a version provided by the singer himself, the act derives directly from the classic Italian apotropaic gesture, which his grandmother usually did.
In the late 50s and 60s, he was also in bands, like The Vegas Kings Ronnie and The Redcaps.
Actually, the Italian gesture (which is either apotropaic or used to insult a man by telling him that he’s being cuckholded) is an entirely different gesture-it’s performed with the hand leveled or pointing down, or at least slightly downward, usually with a swiveling or oscillating motion, not with the horns up.
The “Horns Up”/“Metal Horns”/“Devil Horns”/“Rock On” Sign of the Horns 🤘 was born from Jinx Dawson and her band Coven. Jinx would throw up the Horns 🤘 during every Coven concert, and Ronnie James Dio copied it from them after he saw them performing at the Rainbow Bar and Grill.
Coven’s Sign of the Horns 🤘, which of course means “Hail Satan” (or just “Hail” to whomever you want to hail), is however very similar to the sign that Wiccans use to celebrate the Horned God and the “Hook ‘em Horns” that fans of the Texas Longhorns use to cheer them on.
I’m grateful to Dio for popularizing the Sign of the Horns 🤘, but I do wish he would have credited Jinx/Coven and wouldn’t have misled people about the meaning of the Sign.
“All the fools sailed away” or “sunset Superman”
Metal music is closer to the Blues than anything else. Just another genre of the soul expressed.
I saw him in concert back in the early 1980's. Unique amazing voice.
Dio was another really powerful voice. I miss him so! RIP bud!
We Rock. That’s the next song man!
Dio .. so much for you to hear from him ..
Love.Love, Love ❤ Dio💯🤘🎧 Last in Line is a great song also and Rainbow in the dark 💎 They are a must hear💯 Good luck on your channel 👍
Dio is a Master! of lyrics. And one hell of a singing voice !
Welcome to Metal 🤘📀🦾 Great reaction ❤
Heaven and Hell when he was with Black Sabbath. One of.the greatest songs ever. Oh and by the way, Dio is METAL!🤘🤘🤘
love Dio great tune thanx for exploring !!! try dio rainbow in the dark !!!!
Dio has been around for ever!!! And totally heavy metal, sub genre of rock
Ronnie James Dio is one of those "Know your roots" kind of artists. If he hadn't been around metal music would look different, one of the best metal voices and influenced generations of metal heads.
Love DIO try straight through the heart or shame on the night. Great reaction👍
Your reaction made my day.
Now that you have tasted DIO, you will never be the same. So much great stuff by him.
This IS Metal. And Ronnie James Dio is one of the greatest metal singers. Check out some Black Sabbath, the inventors of Heavy Metal. Ronnie James Dio also sang for them after Ozzy Osborne left to go solo.
This is metal🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
This is metal, for sure. Anybody who says it isn't, wasn't around in the early 80s when this kind of music was new.
LOL I have been looking for this for a long time and old friend play at his leaving party. thanks
You opened up a new world of music for yourself. Ronnie James Dio is one of the best singers of all time.
I would say that music is an evolutionary process always in flux so with that said country, blue grass, and blues morphed into rock and roll which then morphed into a bunch of rock sub genres like Psychedelic Rock, Surf rock, Punk rock, Stoner Rock and Heavy Metal which now Metal has several sub genres like Thrash Metal, Power Metal (like Dio), Death Metal, Black Metal, Doom Metal, and so on ...long story short heavy metal was the heavier musical evolution of rock n roll
RIP Ronnie James Dio. He was one of the (if not the best) best male vocalists to get on stage. 🤘
Last in line brother!!! Gotta check it out!!!!
