as Austrian I'm very amused by the perception Austria would be a polite place. Quite the opposite actually. Austria is more known for being grumpy and impolite, but Christoph Waltz probably said it best: Austrians might seem polite, but we don't mean it'.

I lived in Austria for a semester, they're so accurate about the supermarket ladies, they're so fast and intense and stare daggers if you're not totally ready to go with your bags and money.
Wade Funderburg that’s how supermarkets works in pretty much every european countries.
Many supermarkets pay by how fast you are. It's insanity.

I'm the only Austrian (who wasn't born or grew up in Vienna) I know who didn't ski even once in his life. Whenever this comes up in a conversation Austrians look at me as If I just confessed a murder.
It's like an American saying they've never played baseball or football in their lives.

I think the ones who have seen the original drama, which is kind of a masterpiece. (Force Majeure aka. "Turist") Why would you remake it as a comedy? Even with awesome cast and crew... Just think about any truly amazing drama you have seen, and imagine its comedy remake. Ew. I agree, the video is funny but also kinda sad seeing American ignorance (towards anything that is different) at it's peak. I am a calm person, who is not easy to upset, who is also a fan of the creators and a huge fan of Seth... but this... I kinda feel disgusted.

Even though, Jim Rash is an Oscar winning screenplay writer, to me he will always be Dean Pelton.
Americans at a German/Austrian supermarket for the first time :-D It's gets to be like a sport after a while. You get really good at loading the belt to plan for your packing.
I wish this film was better than it was, but at least I can always go back to The Way, Way Back and The Descendants and just watch those forever. Nat and Jim are incredible; cannot wait for them to bounce back from this.

That bums me out to hear about the mean supermarket ladies.
They seem to have made the movie a comedy, thats a shame because the swedish version is more of a drama that has as a lot of depth to it. Its about a familiy in crisis and the way the father reacts in the movie really make you think and raises a lot of questions about human behavior.
The original movie's on HULU right now, and I'm torn if I should watch it before I see this or vice versa, because I know whichever one I see first will overshadow the other.
