Nice video.What GPS would I use to go out in the middle of nowhere to search for minerals?I'm going to Africa and most places won't have wifi.I need a GPS that will work without wifi in the middle of nowhere..Any recommendations?
Thanks, you need a Topographical Land GPS, and it must have the Topo maps of the region that you are going to. For example Garmin GPSMAP 64x Handheld GPS

That option is available in TomTom Business GPS like Truck GPS, Delivery Vehicle GPS, Fleet GPS etc.

My maps are deleted what can i do
You could connect it to your computer using TomTom Home and get it reinstalled. However if you GPS does not have free Lifetime Map Update option it may cost you more than the value of the GPS. In that case you will need to just get another used one from eBay.
How could we reset it without turning it on ?
On some models there is a Reset Button at the bottom, but even that button requires you to turn it ON. If the unit is completely Dead and will not turn ON then you can't reset it.
Does this have world wide map am in the Caribbean
For Caribbean you will need to get a Garmin GPS, I don't know of any TomTom that would cover the Caribbean.

1. Yes you can use it by walking without any vehicle but you must have a reliable battery on it, or use a Battery Bank and a USB cable to keep it running.
2. No it does not require any subscription but it does require updated maps for the area you are walking at.
3. This uses a Mini USB Port for power and charging, it is NOT a Micro USB like a Samsung phone and NOT Lighting Port like iPhones.

I have a tomtom xl 340tm it does not have maps. I tried installing them from tomtom home it does not work. Is there a way for me to install a map?
Hi, there are some GPS Forums that offer maps for them but the problem is that there are many computer viruses on those sites. So you have to do it on a computer that is not your primary computer with all your important apps and files.

You need to go to settings and enable advanced menus to be able to see all the available features on it.

I agree with you, neither one of the two gives you perfect suction, and they fall off from the windshield after sometime. However the aftermarket one allows you to apply pressure before you engage the suction latch
