Ehhh Saints got plenty of depth at WR, just no one has emerged as the true WR3 yet in my opinion. Michael Thomas, and Ted Ginn Jr? That’s a damn good 1 and 2, Just traequon Smith, Kirkwood Jr, etc someone needs to step up and start making plays, CONSISTENTLY. And then the WR core will be beautiful.

Cam is not a natural pocket passer. But he definitely has arm talent. He's definitely a better passer than Vick was tho. What makes him so valuable tho is his rushing talent and size. He's the size of a linebacker with the speed of a RB.

Kamara and Ingram were a great backfield. Kamara, Thomas, and Sproles are slippery multipurpose type backs, while Ingram was a power downhill runner.

Falcons , 49ers and Rams and Saints were the NFC west from '70 through '01. And when the Panthers came into the league in '95 they were in the NFC west also.

This was the first meeting between the Saints and the Panthers in 2011, the same season when the Saints put a bounty on Cam Newton.
I was like I don't remember this game as a incredible duel. Then I remembered why I remember this game different, 3 minutes in. That cheap shot on Steve Smith was rediculous by Harper. When I think of hits that needed out of the game, I don't think of "laying" on the QB as viable. This however IS the type that needed to be pushed out of the game though.

He got more yards from penalties on passing downs than he did throwing the ball. Brees was his typical first ballot hall of fame self delivering strikes to anyone with two hands.

If you'd like to talk Boomer Esiason comparisons I'll be more than happy. Cam Newton in his career has been better and without an eye test, let's simply use stats:
In a 14yr career Esiason had roughly 39,500 all purpose yards, 254 all purpose tds, an 80-93 career w/l record, and a completion percentage average of 57.0%
So far, in an 8yr career Newton has roughly 34,280 all purpose yards, 240 all purpose tds, a 68-53-1 career w\l record, and a completion percentage average of 59.7%
Both Qbs had 3 pro bowls and 1 first team all pro before age 30.
Cam Newton has 7 playoff games with a 3-4 record compared to Esiason's 5 playoff games with a 3-2 record. What that means is 2 seasons Cam Newton was a better QB in order to lead his team to the playoffs. Although ultimately both have lost the Super Bowl appearance they had.
In his 8yrs Newton has 15 Comebacks and 17 game winning drives, Esiason in 14yrs had 19 and 26, respectively.
If Esiason is your guideline for HOF entry, Cam Newton will after his 9th season have been better than Esiason is his 14yr career. But if you still do not believe Cam is not "overrated" then I'd suggest reading this article:

Oh and the Ben vs. Cam argument is ridiculous. Yes, we could compare the two but what you'd end up with is the discovery that in the first 7 years of his career he had more yards than Ben on a team that was the Steelers lesser. Yes, Ben has been a better qb in his career however until you are able to switch their teams, we won't know how Ben would have fared without the abundance of talent the Steelers have had compared to the Panthers. I agree Ben outplayed Cam in that particular game this season. But before that game and injury in that game (which Watt did try to avoid causing) Cam had won his team more games and was playing better than Ben. The Panthers porous o-line and young secondary coupled with their aged and lack of pass rush cost them the opportunity for the game to be closer, not Cam.
I appreciated the opportunity to show you the faults in your argument, but the simpl fact is Cam is underrated and even his fellow players believe so, as he was voted one of the most underrated players in the game:
