      Yeah it's the only time since the mid 90s that cowboys legit felt special. Everyone including the fans took it one game at a time. And it was a fun season, the chemistry is the best its been in the 2000s. Plus it was the first time since the 90s for the cowboys to have a non trash oline. The defense was trash but they at least did 1 positive thing, they did great at the end of 4th quarters. Because years prior they would always let teams score very easily and quickly at the end of 4th quarters.

    It's amazing how far Romo carried this team with a 15th ranked defense. Never understood why they let their chances of winning a superbowl in 2016 ride on the shoulders of a rookie QB. @@thecensoredmuscle563 Man that is some mental gymnastics. Dez faded, not because he was getting older and his style of physical route running and strength at catch point was deteriorating quickly, no it was because the quarterback play lessened… 😬
      That’s why as soon as he was released he was super dominant on another team. Right-injury. Well I’m sure he was really good when he got healthy on the ravens (he was not). Too bad he didn’t have former MVPs on both of the rosters he joined.

    • @thecensoredmuscle563
      @thecensoredmuscle563 Před 2 lety

      @@skillswiper you obviously do not know how to use the phrase "mental gymnastics".
      What I stated was objectively accurate, film proves it 100%, the eyes are useful thing when you use them.
      But yeah okay, the young 28 year old randomly lost his athletic ability (because that totally happens lol), and it just happened to be at the exact time that a very high school level throwing skill qb (even to this day remains as such but thinks to rules and every receiver single covered unlike Dez, he can inflate stats with high throws) started to start.
      Even if you didn't watch the games (which you obviously didn't), you still should have logically concluded that the qb was the problem, not the 28 year old all pro receiver haha. Dez was a strong receiver, throw it in his area and he will outmuscle the db. Terrence Williams was a deep threat. Both of these receivers require a qb to have a throwing level of at least d1 college capabilities. Prescott doesn't have that and so they both turned into nothing instantly that Prescott got their. That's also why cowboys now have a stacked receiving core of guys that fit better for elementary passes.
      As for what happened to Dez after. I mean he tore like achilles or something close to it, then didn't come back until what? 2020 or 2019. By then he was in his 30s and effected from a very detrimental injuries.

    Romo magic baby! He had a great o line and solid stable of running backs on this team. And Yes Dez caught that ball!

    It's funny that we can see in hindsight just how great Romo was compared to Prescott today

      In 2016, I was told that I was wrong for wanting Romo to come in and start over Dak, which admittedly he did have a great 2016 season, but Romo would have probably lead that team past GB without the need of a comeback and who knows what after that.
      Dak did great his rookie year, no denying that. But he had Romo on the sideline, and in his/Linehan's ears. Last year was the start of Daks regression, this year it is just painfully obvious. Is it a coincidence Romo leaves and the next two years Dak completely changes as a QB and the playcalling becomes a joke? Nope.
      Dak needed to stay under Romo for at least two more years before he even started a game. It took two years but I'm glad others are realizing what a mistake it was to fuck over Romo like that.

      R B it’s both the playcalling and Dak. Like Dak is NOT a Pocket QB. That’s what they want from Dak. At Mississippi Dak was recognized because he made huge plays from his legs. Dallas needs to add more Play Action and more designed runs for Dak. He’s a big guy and hard to bring down.

      R B you have to realize that removing romo was best for the team and romos health. He was very injury prone and not healthy when he left. And when you put injury prone QB’s into the playoffs/Super Bowl. The players become more aggressive and this could have ended romo and his health. Romo probably would have only continued to play probably because of the stress from everyone.

      Romo is a seasoned vet here and still didn't accomplish much
