Summary: San experienced a grim childhood and adolescence with her emotionally, verbally and physically abusive mother. Unrelentingly critical and demanding, San's mother was particularly obsessed with preventing her teenage daughter from taking full possession of her sexuality. San's only reprieve was her piano lessons with a kindly next-door neighbor, Jeong-hee. Years later, when the adult San learns that she is pregnant, she visits her estranged, terminally ill mother at the hospital. Despite awaiting her imminent death, her mother has not changed at all, and San wonders if she will ever be free of the painful memories.

A lot of this reminds me of my childhood. Women that are narcissists, unmedicated mentally ill, & drug addicts should NEVER be allowed to be around any children!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have seen a sick mother like this she was my ex's mother 😱 thank god he's my ex now ..... mental torture it is to be around such a sick woman ! And her son too had psychopathic symptoms maybe because of his torturous childhood!

I had a sick mum like her with ocd and it is really hard, I had my skin scrubbed and scraped untill I bled.... She would lag me head to foot in antibacterial creams, lotions, bleach etc... She's even run my bath with antiseptic in. she also did nothing to protect me from abuse by her partner either. I've always said I turned out good considering. I'm a mum, with 4 kids but they know what a mother is and what it's like to be loved.... I listen and consider them in anything that involves them. I'm now left with health problems so bad I take nearly 70 tablets and morphine each day. I'm left with not just psychosis but also psychotic depression. I was terrified of Freddie cruger growing up, my stepdad would turn the lights out and scrape nails down the walls telling me Freddie would get me..... I suffered serious nightmares and sleepwalking then as well but that's just the tip of the iceberg. That man broke my ribs at 11yrd old and more.... My mum was nasty, cruel and just never tried to stop or help, if anything she'd tell him to half the time.

@@gwenmloveskpopcecmore I've never stopped them knowing them hun I'm just always there with them, I won't let my kids be looked after by any of them etc. I don't feel I have that right to decide for them, it's their birthright to know their family, I'm just right behind being protective. I can't even tell my kids off be ause it makes me feel so bad I want to hurt myself as punishment.
