@@bankspower Guys! Can you tell me which part numbers I should order for my 2023 3.0 Duramax LZ0? I'd like the PedalMonster and the iDash. Please and thanks!!
I'd like to see a signal test going to the ECU with and without the pedal monster in place. All I want is the pedal to be 100% linear with throttle output, 0 to 100%. From no foot to pedal on the floor. I will control that. True Cable-like response from fly-by-wire. No "modifying" it to be at 100% throttle at 50% pedal. THAT'S what I don't like or want and why these products get a bad name and all the skepticism. I want to see the signal response. For example, if I press the throttle 50%, and say stock goes from 0 to 2.5 volts over a second or 2, THAT's LAG to me. It SHOULD be to the given voltage EXACTLY AS FAST as press the pedal. Like I say CABLE-LIKE.... If it's truly faster than mashing the pedal at ANY give pedal percentage, I'm sold. Sprint Booster had the video I'd like to see done with Banks. Set up a video with a throttle body and a pedal with the Monster in place. If you can show the throttle plate opens and closes faster than just mashing the pedal AT A LINEAR rate, WITH all Banks safety, you will sell to a hell of a lot more customers than just me! I'd be on board!
Good Explanation. That is what I am looking for. I don't want more throttle than what I am physically applying. If I push pedal 50%, 75% or 100%. I want it the SPLIT SECOND I request it. I don't want to push pedal and wait for a second or two or three for the throttle to respond. I was rear ended and my vehicle was totaled. I think the impact would have been far less or not at all if my 2013 Expedition with a 5.4L would have moved when I heard squealing tires and saw vehicle fixing to plow me in my rear view mirror and I floored it. Instead it took almost 3 seconds from the time I floored it to get out of the way before it started to move. Soooo I Got Plowed. If it will respond immediately instead of "LAGGING" I WILL BYE ONE. All the talk is about increasing the voltage your applying. What is needed is a decrease in the RESPONSE TIME. That is what LAG is. The time it takes for the pedal to be pressed and the throttle plate to respond. DOES THIS PRODUCT REDUCE OR ELIMINATE THAT????? That is the question.
@@djkowboytodd8810 Yeah, I don't think we'll get a solid response. They make too much money fooling people by increasing ramp rates so people "Think" the vehicle's faster. All throttle "Boosters" do the same thing. They change the pedal travel from 0 to 5 volts. And the less you have to press the pedal to get to 5 volts, the more you "Think" it faster. They have to because anything else HAS to be done in programming to gain response. Timing, fuel, etc... And these don't change programming. All they can do is give a 0 to 5 volt signal in any shorter travel range they want. People don't even realize if it's at 5 volts at 50% pedal travel with the booster on it, the last half of your pedal travel does absolutely NOTHING. When I tune my vehicles via ECU, I change the ramp rate to be 100% linear from 0% to 100% pedal travel. THAT's all the vehicle will do, and I can control every percent of that myself. Smoke and mirrors...

@@djkowboytodd8810 I have a different brand throttle controller (Injen X Pedal) in my daily driver. In sport mode 4 or 5 there's zero throttle lag. It reacts like an old school cable linkage throttle. I don't have any first hand experience with Bank's controller, but given their great reputation it's probably a high quality product. 👍
Good explanations and a cool dad. I ended up ordering one because of the reverse safety and bypass features.. i'll sell the pedal commander. I just like the Banks company and think the product will be even better.
So I don't have a pedal commander pedal monster or anything like that. I have a 2022 Prius Prime. It has three modes, eco-normal and sport. All it does is the exact same thing as the pedal monster by adjusting how the ECU reacts to throttle input. Sport is actually pretty dang responsive with my electric motors. The Prius is actually able to be kind of a sporty car and it's impressive. Eco, all it does is reduce throttle response. I normally do drive around an eco mode because I own a Prius because I want to make fuel mileage. But when I'm in the city in heavy traffic making lots of turns, I go ahead and drop it in sport because I want the instant throttle response.
Does the pedal monster make the car downshift since its sending a bigger input? I have a 3.0 duramax, and would like for it not to downshift all the time when I give it more than 30%pedal.
I know this is two years late😂 but possibly? My car will command a downshift (at least in my 2017 Dodge Challenger 5.7L). Sometimes it double shifts down, depending on how much throttle you give (and at high levels, it’s not much😅) Since you have a diesel that makes max torque and horsepower at lower RPM ranges, it shouldn’t down shift? I’m pretty sure you can find the answer on forms, or even call Banks and ask them👍🏽
Just now seeing this because I bought a Pedal Monster and did some searching so CZcams gives me old videos. I haven't had anything but problems so far with install and application. I've been on the phone with Banks twice with zero resolve so far. Hopefully the advice I got today will help when I get back on it tomorrow. So far, I'm not sold. Too many internal fault codes and the exact opposite of what I should be getting. We'll see. My 2019 Ram Rebel needs to go!
Thanks for the video, I am considering this for our Crysler Pacifica. We never wanted a mini van but thats what we needed. Banks should come out other parts for the 2017 plus Pacifica models.
I installed this on my 6.4 megacab and the throttle lag from a stand still is still there, like at street lights..it doesn't get rid of that lag. But once you get going, it goes quick with less peddle.
@BR R yea, I've been through all the settings. It's great when it's going. it just doesn't change anything from a stop. I push the peddle at the green light, and it still waits a while before zipping off and zipping through gears. That wait time is unchanged, but lag everywhere else is gone.
Do you have to change a bunch of other stuff . I have 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 85 thousand mile 5.7 Hemi and it just doesn’t have that response that I know most everyone deals with new plugs .
I have a Ford and their throttle pedal response is terrible, I don’t think it hardly cracks open the throttle until it’s 50% percent depressed. Then it shifts early on top of that. I am so happy with not having to mash the peddle to get a response. I have it adjusted to about 7 city for city driving . Same gas mileage just less manipulation of the throttle now.
Excellent video! 2 Questions for you. Using only my iPhone could I change settings while stopped? Will this work with other tunes in the market place? Are you still staying City 10 setting ? Oops that’s three questions 😂 Thank you in advance. Have a grand weekend. 🇨🇦✅🇨🇦
The only problem I see with it is new diesels have bad throttle response partially for emissions to not load the particulate filter with soot 🤷♂️ if I’m wrong tell me why
I'd don't have it on my stock lmm but there are times that I wish the distance was shorter on the pedal and I would think as you got used to the pedal you would feather it to accommodate it to your driving habits
@@beddozo I often mash the pedal to the boards to pass and the truck sometimes still takes a couple seconds to figure out what to do. It's likely taking the time to ramp in the power smoothly so it doesn't send a huge load of soot down to the DPF. I'm really not sure if a pedal monster is going to help in that case.
if you set the trim setting to have it not kick in till after 10 mph is reached, what happens at 11 mph? Does it chirp the tires to get up to where it would be, if the trim setting was not set, or does it slowly take over and fill in the gap from the stock pedal. ?
I just found out about this unit. My question is if there is a complete loss of 12v power to the Pedal Monster, will it still revert to OEM operation? Kinda like if someone unplugs it while driving no matter how unreasonable that seems.

Seems to me that all it does is increase the throttle body sensor more than you’re actually actuating the pedal which is completely ridiculous. I can do the same thing with my foot by just pressing the pedal more than I normally would and save myself $300-$600 dollars. Anyway, I appreciate the video, you have confirmed my skepticism. 👍 also noticed your shirt at the end of the video…I wonder what ol’ Eric O would think about this.
From what I understand car company's are creating throttle lag to cars you can press the pedal all you want but the response will be slower and you will be burning more fuel with the pedal monster it takes the slow response out you barely tap gas and in return you will save gas which makes sense
@@Charles-jo8ubI hope you’re kidding, yes, manufacturers create lag on purpose, it’s to increase fuel economy for government regulations, banks takes the lag “out” by sending more fuel to the motor than your foot is telling it to, the pedal monster will absolutely increase fuel consumption

Folks that argue, "Just press the pedal down all the way, its the same thing" -- It isn't. LOL. This is the easiest way I can explain this: To get to 100% throttle without it, you need to press the pedal down 100% of the way. To go to 100% throttle WITH it, you need to press the pedal down 30% - %40 of the way (or whatever it is. I know its wayyyyy less than 100%) Which can you do faster with your own foot and reflexes? The PedalMonster was designed to deliver throttle boost when you need it. It was not designed to increase fuel economy. Therefore, we do not advertise fuel economy gains. Fuel economy will depend on many variables including how you drive, how hard you mash the throttle, or PedalMonster level/environment you drive in.

We said the same thing for years, we never understood why someone would want to spend money on this. If you want to go faster push farther on the pedal. Then we bought one and tested it, we ate crow real fast. Remember, the PedalMonster is a throttle sensitivity controller. It removes response delays on your electronic accelerator pedal. In other words, it gets rid of the dreaded “sponge pedal” found in so many of today’s cars and trucks. A block of wood can't do that.
This is true, however, PedalMonster can be stacked with tuning for a great driving experience. A few other things to consider are that ECU tuning can range is pricing and there are some folks would love to keep their warranty intact (by not modifying the computer). Remember, PedalMonster does not alter the vehicle’s ECM (computer) in any way. When in doubt, customers can simply remove the PedalMonster and its harness. After removal its presence is undetectable; it does not leave a footprint in your ECM keeping your warranty safe. 😎👍🏻

If I push pedal 50%, 75%
or 100%.
@@Longslyde1 Your right. Its sad how companies take advantage of people. Proof that knowledge is power. Lack of knowledge is costly. I am an auto Technician and I figured this was to good to be true. Thanks for the honest reply.
Another PedalMonster video. I think we understand how it works by now 😂
Does the pedal monster make the car downshift since its sending a bigger input?
Do you have the speed trim setting turned on? It makes the pedal monster relatively unresponsive under 10 mph.
@BR R yea, I've been through all the settings. It's great when it's going. it just doesn't change anything from a stop. I push the peddle at the green light, and it still waits a while before zipping off and zipping through gears. That wait time is unchanged, but lag everywhere else is gone.
Oh that’s too bad. Mine got better after I shut off the speed trim.
Do you have the ford pass app? If so did it change anything on it? Thanks
Sure is quiet down here...
Seems like sound logic and possible downsides of more regens and poor fuel economy.
Very good point in regards to the DPF , that makes sense because it definitely doesn't tach out and respond like a gas engine
I'd like to know if this is true
Have this in a 2024 escalade. It's night and day!!! fabulous!
if you set the trim setting to have it not kick in till after 10 mph is reached, what happens at 11 mph? Does it chirp the tires to get up to where it would be, if the trim setting was not set, or does it slowly take over and fill in the gap from the stock pedal. ?
Humm.
Wow legit question 10 months ago and no answer?
Why banks!
Does it REDUCE your MPGS?
Yes, a little bit. It's like mashing the peddle.
I just found out about this unit. My question is if there is a complete loss of 12v power to the Pedal Monster, will it still revert to OEM operation? Kinda like if someone unplugs it while driving no matter how unreasonable that seems.
According to their website and Banks video - it does revert to stock operation.
Its more responsive down low and the higher the number the more power it loses at the top.Proven over and over
Yes have to agree
Can PedalMonster be fitted to a Suzuki Jimny 5 door?
Does it completely eliminate turbo lag?
I'm trying to purchase for my rc350 but then connectors don't look familiar
im goona be honest my 2019 redline equinox 2.0 turbo i get fast responce from my triecta tune and bad news raceing diverter valve. im pushing 24.7 pounds of boost. i really find this hard to believe. i wouldnt spend 300 on this. I do have the banks i dash gauge and love it.
I have a 2021 Ram 6.7 Cummins SO. I know most people like the pedal monster set to sport 4-7 around town. I am wondering what setting Banks recommends for towing a 14k lb 5th wheel? Mainly Wondering between Sport and City as far as their throttle percentage graph between the two?
Same question
Do you notice a throttle response difference on your truck? I feel like when I push the pedal it takes 2-3 seconds to really do anything. 19 Cummins SO
Wont this in sport or race alter the fuel timing and make car run alot richer and cause more soot from exhaust
Great video - thanks for doing this!
Is it safe if you also have a banks tuner installed?
If I use the app does it give me any info as far as when my truck will be getting close to doing a regen?
Does this effect the emmisions in any way? I'm in California and want to get it but gotta be sure they don't nail me come emmisions time
No it does not, however, we do have a CARB EO for it.
It must effect emissions has car will run richer and soot will be alot more then stock
Just placed my first order of a banks product. Let’s see how she goes
Press the pedal down 30% or 100% ? The PedalMonster gets you to a higher throttle in less time than you could do with your own foot.
Definitely not my 2022 super duty is governed not just for gas mileage 500 ponies you can't use till your going at speed.
I dont want a truck with this much power I can't take off fast
Nonsense, reaching 100% with smaller pedal movement is absolutely smoking mirrors because the rest of the pedal movement does nothing. At full open throttle body plate there is nothing gooding to open it any farther.
@@camarogs1 oh. So you can press a gas pedal down 100% of the way faster than you can press it 40% of the way..🤣. You're the only one that has that special ability. 🤣🤣🤣. Lemme guess. What we need is a pedal monster that saves gas, not uses more. I'm assuming this decreases fuel economy?
How does it work with a gasser with the sport/tow selector?
One problem with this, it blocks obd² port. Especially when you have a obd link mx+ hooked up, monitoring your engine systems
You can always pair it with one our iDash monitors so you can monitor your vehicle and control the PedalMonster.

That is a custom mount.
Seems that the Pedal Monster needs a “tow mode”?
When using the one with a phone does it have to be on the app all the time for it to work?
PedalMonster retains the last settings. So, you only need to use the app when you want to change settings.

So does the pedal monster only gets it power from the obd2 port? I have my P3 Gauge connected to the obd2 port at all times so is there anyway to make it work?

He literally came in the next day and said, "I get it now. I really get it. We need to design one... But one with safety features." I could of sold you a block of wood and a zip strap for half the price
@@bankspower can you get the same result from tuning the ECU
This is true, however, PedalMonster can be stacked with tuning for a great driving experience. A few other things to consider are that ECU tuning can range is pricing and there are some folks would love to keep their warranty intact (by not modifying the computer). Remember, PedalMonster does not alter the vehicle’s ECM (computer) in any way. When in doubt, customers can simply remove the PedalMonster and its harness. After removal its presence is undetectable; it does not leave a footprint in your ECM keeping your warranty safe. 😎👍🏻
Bro needs to slap his barber
Just push the peddle more... you are not changing the speed from the computer to the throttle, only the peddle to the ecu.

It's great but the lag at a stop light to get going is never going to be eliminated, when you try to take off from the stop light, the trucks reaction from peddle push to movement will stay the same, but once you're going it will zip through gears and add snap.
