Explanation for the F1 wheel rotation: When I plugged the wheel back in to get some gameplay footage, the settings reset and I didn't bother to tinker with the settings since I was only doing one or two laps to get some footage. I understand that I should have adjusted it regardless. I'm still only a small creator and still have a lot to learn regarding attention to detail.

Love my "chatterbox". Its feedback is actually very good when dialed in. The quickly mappable buttons make Assetto and piles of sims a breeze, having hotkeys for FFB +/-, all sorts of oddball inputs. Brake is extremely stiff and a LUT file can dial the wheel in further. I eliminated most of the gear chatter via settings adjustments and after 2 years of use I have it dialed in perfectly.

For those who complain about noise vibration, reducing the "kurb effect" and "bumps effects" (can be different names depend on the game) will help.Done it on my g27 and not only that,by that it help with reducing the "vibration"(much like turning shocks) of the wheel want to conteract your inputs and you end up fight your wheel instead of making a good line .Side note,i'm not playing with inverted force feedback.

Best advice I could give someone is to buy a second hand g920 or g29 and then stick with it until you want to upgrade to Fanatec or another higher spec wheel. I wouldn't recommend Thrustmaster in 2021 now that Fanatec have released their CSL DD. Just stick with logitech and if you ever feel like upgrading just wait until you can make the leap to entry level Fanatec gear. I bought my g920 with a shifter and basic wheel stand for 200 euro second hand and I wouldnt spend any more to get started! I would say that getting proper mounting made a massive difference to my g920 when I first upgraded it. That would definitely be your first upgrade!

Though I did have to replace the shifter and pedal pots with a generic 10k ohm adapter kit once, other than that, the wheel has served me well. I use it on Assetto Corsa and iRacing. I've only ever had a G25. But I was suddenly very happy I bought this G923. The Trueforce with ACC was stunning IMHO. Wheel, pedals, shifter for far less than what I could get in the lower tier of the next level of devices. I've read too many negatives about T300rs and went with this instead. A shame we can just try everything for a few weeks and then decide after that. I'd spend a little more. But I feel I got my moneys worth. I personally have not gotten the G923 *and this reviews has made me glad I haven't* but and issue that me and my friend had with the wheel (I have g920, friend has g20) after a lot of heavy use the wheel will start to lock towards the left, and the more you use it, the worse it gets. I play a lot of assetto corsa and I use the FFB mod and a Luna script to get really heavy FFB so the wheel does more of the work for me. And well it only makes the locking glitch worse. Also you HAVE to buy the booster kit for it to be just slightly better than the csl elite. Seems like the fanatec dd isn’t worth it either. I’d however from personal experience highly recommend exactly the opposite of you. Logitech sounds cheap, looks cheap and from what I’ve trying and heard feels cheap. Where as my thrustmaster t300 rs feels very nice, easy to setup and use on both ps4 and pc. I don’t see any single argument where Logitech offers any better than Thrustmaster. Thrustmaster also have a big line of upgrades you can do. And if you’re playing on console like I do, fanatec just isn’t possible. Since the csl elite have been discontinued, the only compatible wheel base for the ps4, cost 1800€. That’s just insane, so I wouldn’t even recommend fanatec anymore. But if you can find a csl elite with pedals for around 3-400€ that would be the best option. Anything else, go with Thrustmaster.

@@AcD420 I’m guessing you are one of the Thrustmaster army. Don’t worry I’m no Fanatec fanboy, but the CSL DD is obviously a better wheel base. From someone who’s tried my friends Thrustmaster t300 quite a few times, had my own Logitech g920 and a DD1, I know the market. Thrustmaster wheel is better than Logitech, but I still think that the best way in is the trusty cheap Logitech that is super durable with a good resale value. The CSL DD is better than the CSL Elite, that’s clear, the reviews compare the 5nm version to the DD1 and other similar wheels, not any belt driver wheel (with the CSL Elite already being superior to Thrustmaster’s offerings). Thrustmaster have done a good thing realeasing the tgt, I believe it will be a great product filling a gap in the market. Also CSL DD is compatible with Xbox and PS version is expected very soon with the announcement of Gran Turismo 7

@@FinnD777 nonono my friend haha, Im not in any “group” for wheels, I simply just have a Thrustmaster. Before I started looking at wheels and looking deep into what wheel I should get, I was also saying Logitech was probably best as they are more known. But I wouldn’t say you’re right, the dd wheel should be compared to other direct drive wheels, not belt driven as it is a direct drive wheel. Most reviews I’ve seen if the dd stated that getting it without the boost kit wasn’t worth anything, you’d be better of sticking to your g29 or t150/300 and save up more money for newer wheels in the future.
I like to think of it this way: Logitech is for people with limited money, not sure if they wanna get into sim racing but wanna try it out. Thrustmaster is for people who know they wanna get into sim racing, but don’t have big stacks of money. And fanatec is for people who either don’t like money, have to much money, or are way to into sim racing.
And yes fanatec is from what I’ve seen and heard, by far the best wheels (on a mass production level) out there. Great quality and great compatibility within their own eco system for upgrades of wheel rims and pedals etc. However the price is also way up there. I know getting a direct drive wheel base for 350€ is insanely cheap, however, from a direct drive, I would certainly expect more than 5nm. Like that’s pretty much what my t300 do. And outside of the 350€ you also have to spend at least 150 on a pedal set and another 150 for a wheel rim. That’s just a hell of a lot of money for most people. Compared to the csl elite set which was I think 550€ for base, rim and pedals. Putting out the same nm as the dd.
Anyway, fanatec is looking like they’re moving over to having direct drive only which I think is a big shame as the csl elite was so popular. And especially if you’re on ps4 fanatec right now is a complete no go. I know the dd is coming to ps4 which I like very much, as it’s great to see they don’t just solely focus on pc. And just to tie a knot to your first line, I don’t really care what other people are racing on or using as long as they’re happy with it. This community is split enough over 3 different platforms with 10 or so different sim titles to race on. Wheels and such are the only thing actually combining the entire sim racing community so seeing all this beef and tension between users of different brands really take 90% of all the fun away, hence my choice of just trying to express my experiences and knowledge so people might look into things themselves to see what’s gonna be best for them instead of just seeing one sponsored ad and buy the wheel straight away

@@AcD420 Ok, I’m not gonna give you a long long response 😂. I think you missed the point of the reviews, when they say that the 5nm version is lacking something. They are comparing it to a strong direct drive wheel, not a t300. Chris Haye said very clearly that even at the base version is is in a different league to any belt or gear driven wheel and others had similar thoughts. It may be too weak for the avid sim racer who wants full simulation, but 5nm is still plenty of strength for anyone who isn’t in that category yet. As for prices the CSL DD is €350, pedals €80 and wheel rim €200. That’s €630, which I know isn’t cheap but is definitely comparable in price with the higher end Thrustmaster products. I’m not saying people should just throw their money at this Fanatec wheel, I just think that they should start with a cheap Logitech or Thrustmaster, and just wait until you can afford an upgrade to the DD!
