No, its not about losing their mom. The song is a tribute to their parents, for raising them to who they are now. The lyrics video have literally is ilustrating that where ever they go, they will not lose their way back. Because they have their map (Mapa)- Ma (Mama), and Pa(Papa). And the beat is just right for a ballad song dedicated to their parents.
Alot of people interpret the 'close your eyes' as in dying. But actually, it's a situation in most family who are struggling and where life is tough, alot of parents work long hours to provide for the family. They lose sleep not just thinking about the children and their future but also losing sleep due to work. That's why now that the kids are capable to provide and take over the responsibility so the parents now can relax and allow themselves to take it easy, catchup on sleep and rest (no need to wake up early and sleep late).
The last phrase of the song "I'll be the one taking care of you now." ... clearly imparts that the parents are still alive.
Many people who lost their parents especially the ones who took care of their parents can relate also with the song.

The lyric video is very symbolic. The boat symbolizes once journey in life as it sails. Then you will see that there is eyes with teardrops then flowers grow. Then later on the boat turn to paper plane and return meaning they dont forget where they came from. The whole backdrop is a map (MAPA). It is a tribute to our beloved parents and guardians.

MAPA is a play of words.. it has two meanings- Ma and Pa (their parents) and Mapa is tagalog word for “Map”. They are saying that parents are the map to life. Their advice and love have given them the right direction, hence the map.
It’s a tribute song to tjeir parents for their sacrifices. They have experienced hardship and poverty. Now they are successful they are asking their parents to stand back and they will look after them. Their actual parents are all alive and they love them for their support.

The map symbolizes the "guide' that wherever we go, whatever adventures we do, we fail, we succeed we always have our parents behind our back. They will always be there to support us and when things go the wrong way, we always know our way back home. The map embodies the advise, how to survive life and the the lessons we learned from our parents.
The lyric video is actually quite meaningful in itself. It's a bit difficult to follow since you're also following the subs but you're right about the background, it's a map (MAPA means map when directly translated to English). The paper boat also goes through a journey across the map and even turned into a paper plane at some point (signifying soaring high and achieving success).
MAPA both means map and "Ma" and "Pa". It basically just means their parents (and their teachings) is their map as they journey through life.

These 5 men have their own talents & contributing it in their every song they made. Their songs always have double meaning who Pablo, by the way is the leader & composer of all their songs. He’s a genius always making word playing. These men could stably sing while dancing vigorously, could rap, could make their own choreography & music video. Most especially they are very humble individuals that’s why many cashuals/foreign reactors are into them b’coz of their songs & their talents & their humility. It's basically about taking responsibilities and giving back to their parents and letting them take things slow and easy now. MaPa = Mama and Papa. Mapa also means map. Thank you for your RV. This is a song of gratitude for ones parents. I guess the word 'rest' is what confuses some people, since it is often used to express condolences when one says rest in peace. In this song, it may just literally just mean for parents to take a respite from all the hardwork in raising the family ...or on a different situation, yes it can mean to say to an ailing parent to not worry and let go, rest..
For me, this song is a sweet memory lane of my parents now long gone, like a warm hug I wish I could give them again. In our current time where different families undergo different challenging scenarios, the song can be a soft reminder, not to give up or forsake ones parents as one explores his own timeline.

where you came from. In our Filipino culture we look up to our parents because they take care of us when we were young so, now that they’re old you do the same thing, you take care of them too.
The graphics show the boat (the child) cruising through life, navigating through its courses, never losing way, and while it goes on its route, seeds sprout to plants and soon bloom. It symbolizes how a child, through his parents’ guidance, becomes productive in life and never goes astray because he has with him his parents’ advice that serve as his map (guide). Soon the easy-cruising boat evolves into a plane, symbolizing how the child has become a grown-up now, ready to take on the world.
The parents here may be anyone who has served as guide to the child. The song does not speak about parents who already passed away but parents who should rest their worries now because the child is already OK; he can take care of himself, or it can also mean the child is taking upon himself to take care of his parents this time around.

ITS NOT ABOUT dying parents or moms! I guess in other countries, the younger generation does not really takes care of their parents hands on. In our country, we DO NOT pùt parents or grandparents in institutions or home for the aged. We take care of them at home no matter what! You guys focus on the superficial meaning.
