i THINK THE INFO ABOUT KEN NOT KNOWING HIS PARENTS IS A FALSE ONE CAUSE, HE MENTIONED HIS DAD IN HIS INTERVIEW ON TONITALKS.
Ken knows his parents altho they are both working in abroad, so he didn't really get to grow up with them like be physically present. He was raised by his grandparents.

If you haven’t notice. There are 3 meaning of MAPA in this song.
1. MA, PA = Ma (Mother) Pa (Father)
2. MAPA - the Map which meant in this song was the advise and the guidance of parents
3. Ma (Mata) meant the eye of the mother that was told in the first bridge. Pa (Paa) meant the feet of the father that was also told in the second bridge.
I love how these same letters compliment with one another and ended up to a masterpiece.

Josh (singing tribute to dads) never knew/met his own dad. Ken has only seen his mom & dad once his whole life. It broke my heart hearing you say you can’t relate cause you don’t have both your parents, but I hope you realize some of these boys may have some similarities with you in some way & they still were able to make a song like this & I hope that serves you some comfort. Lataratara Latara is a lullaby. The Spanish origin is La Tierra which means land. If you notice in the vdo, when they sing this part, you see the boat sailing and covering many areas or "land". This is still aligned to the concept of the whole song of parents being our guide and allowing us to explore many things as we grow up.
MAPA has a more celebratory version, their band version with Ben & Ben. According to Pablo, MAPA is dedicated to whoever nurtured or guided us growing up.

When I first heard this song I burst out crying at Josh's part because he sang it so full of emotion and knowing he didn't have a father figure growing up. Ken has only met his parents twice and was raised by his grandparents. The "lataratara" is based on a lullaby Pablo's grandma used to sing to him. I like to think of Mapa as their lullaby to their parents to tell them to stop worrying as he wrote this when they were on their first tour and far away from home.
You are on point that Pablo also writes music like his diary, he has said so in interviews. You even got the members voices right. You're one of the most observant reactors, thank you for that! That's the only song that burst me to cry the first time I heard. I grew up hating my mom for I did not know the reason why she always beat me and my only refuge was my father. The irony, I look like my mom. My father died while I was away for I worked in a company and my boss did not even allowed me to go home...it break my heart and no free moments that my heart crying. I can't accept that he left already even until now.

MAPA has two meaning in filipino language.. It can be MA (Mama) then PA(Papa) and also MAPA (Map)..
This song is made and serve as a tribute to all parents or even the people who serves as your guardian.. Who made a good job, the main reason and the person who make us who we are today..

The tagalog of Map is Mapa as a navigator. At the same time, he played with the words Ma(ma) and Pa(pa) and combined to call parents (MaPa) as our guide growing up. So yes, this a deep song. And even the VDO has a lot of symbolisms.

MAPA is actually a Filipino word in the Filipino dictionary which means map. However, in this song the title MAPA refers to Mama(MA) and Papa(PA). In one of the verses of the song, the word MAPA was used to literally refer to map instead of Mama and Papa. I love how at first you were sure that this was gonna be a banger(fast song) then your mood completely change. I felt sorry for you for a while. I’m sorry SB19 made you feel that way. Filipinos are generally family affiliated hence this song is their most popular in the Philippines(explains the 60M views). Non-fans/casual listeners even call SB19 “the lataratara boys”. You got all the members singing on those parts. That was Ken and Pablo that you heard. You got this one perfectly man. The "Lataratara" is like a lullaby here in the Philippines and them singing it, symbolizes them taking care of their parents this time because they are now capable. And yes, even though this song is sad in a way because it makes you think of the sacrifices of your parents, MAPA is meant to be an uplifting song because the intention of the song is good and pure....and the "lataratara" part really does the trick. Also if you notices the background graphics, the little boat turned into a plane that roamed the world and in the end it turned back into the little boat and went home. So what you said was spot on. Btw man, Josh and Ken were the ones who sang the Dad part and Josh never even knew his dad because he was raised with a single mum and Ken only met his Mum and Dad once or twice because they went oversees to work while he was still a toddler. So, even though you have not experienced having parents bro, you can always acknowledge those who raised you as a mother and father figure. I can really tell you had a really good upbringing because of how genuine you are. Don't worry about pausing man. You are one of the few reactors that really give good insights...not just being overwhelmed by the song, music and vocals, but you understand them and hearing your explanations is quite interesting and refreshing.
