The Spectacular Spider-Man is an American superhero animated television series based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, created and developed by Greg Weisman and Victor Cook. In terms of overall tone and style, the series is based principally on the Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and John Romita Sr. era of The Amazing Spider-Man comic books, with a similar balance of action, drama, and comedy as well as a high school setting. However, it also tends to blend material from all eras of the comic's run-up to that point in addition to other sources such as the Ultimate Spider-Man comics by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley, as well as Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film series.

Best part is that they make you think Goblin is Harry because of the rhymes to himself so it doesn't matter, but no, Norman's just lost it where he rhymes for literally no reason
He does it to flex his mind to ensure it remains as sharp as possible, while practising staying in character as someone who is clearly far different than himself. Though this certainly isn't expected, I think it actually makes sense.
I love that Norman is just doing the goblin voice while no one can hear him
@@ShirouBrandoJust to really feel his character so he doesn’t slip up later
@@ShirouBrando
The Goblin is probably Norman's true face and personality, that's why he makes his voice even when he's alone.
"We all wear masks, Spider-Man. But which one is real?
The one that hides your face, or the one that is your face?"
@@BlasckkSpectacular goes truer to the text, so that's exactly it. Norman was always the Goblin, and the Goblin was always Norman. No split personality from a chemical, just a man using aaid chemical to boost himself in order to further his rise to leader.
1:24 This bit is genius, he antagonized molten man by triggering his gambling addiction by making a bet
Like in the previous episode when he said “and I'm betting you're afraid to get those shiny hands dirty.”
I hated how Molten Man pretty much became a Spidey villain despite claiming that he never wanted to hurt Spider-Man due to saving his sister
@@elmermedina1713 Murder is a big leap for a normal person to make, but not for Mark. It's clearly a very slippery slope for him when it comes to a moral conscience and ethics. The one difference he has between sympathetic villains like Electro and Colonel Jupiter, is that his mind wasn't altered by his abilities.
"Hey Molten Man, I bet you can't hit me from over there with a lava ball."
@@ch42965 I'll take that bet!
peter took everyone in the prison down AND escaped. such a competent spider-man.
Didn't take them down just trapped them with help
I honestly think that Black Cat is being petty over not forgiving Spider-Man in this episode. While it is true that she has to leave her father behind in that prison after trying her hardest to break him out, her father did unintentionally murder Ben Parker in this story, and she knows it. Spider-Man has every right to be mad at the cat burglar for that alone, even if Black Cat doesn't know the details. The cat burglar was right to stay, even if Spider-Man couldn't forgive him. Spider-Man should have been the one to get the last word, not Black Cat.
She should've also stayed, for that & everything else she's done.
You're not wrong, but also keep in mind that if she's of an age with Peter, then she's high school age, and clearly thinks of crime less as a way to make a living than as a way to have fun. It's clear that she hasn't really processed the fact that her father killed a man over the fact that she wants him back.
@@adamloga3788In truth, it really shouldn't be that hard for Felicia to process that her father killing Ben Parker was wrong. Anyway, thanks for agreeing with me and I honestly understand the point that you are trying to make.
Yeah he could’ve responded with something along the lines “at least you get to live on knowing your father is still alive. I’ve got to live with the fact my father isn’t all because of him. And I have to live knowing it was also because of my failure to not be so petty like you. If you’re really wanting me to go against my beliefs tonight, then I should go against my father’s and lay you out on this roof right now and web you up for the police, that way daughter dearest will finally have her daddy again.”
Define "unintentionally".
*SPOILER ALERT FOR SPIDER-MAN 3*
In Spider-Man 3, Sandman accidentally murders Ben, in this show, the burglar was panicky and slower in his old age, and purposefully murdered in a hectic hurry - Walter probably decided Ben was already an old man and so this was deemed okay-ish to him at the time, that should've been said I think - It suits the softer, more moral character that's being depicted.
I understand why Felicia is upset but I think after the upset subsides, she'll realise she can't possibly argue with Spider-Man's logic. I think Spider-Man not allowing Walter to come out is realistic and I hope the show wouldn't go back on this if it continued. The way this episode ended, I lean towards that not happening, though I'm definitely not sure of that.
This show is still the best to date of Spider-Man shows
Only beneath the 90s cartoon
@@juanbisonosuero3650
Yes and no in my case, the 90's cartoon had too many limitations, like not being able to be "violent" so no hits was really thrown in there. Animations at the time was a bit rigid as well, but story wise I love it still to this day

I feel sad about Mark after what happened in the bars burn incident he trying to protect Liz, and Mary Jane Mark is not a bad guy he just helps, protect them, Liz lost her brother she lost everything what she loved because Green Goblin I hate Norman so much he is a bad father for what he did with his son Harry he broke Harry’s leg, and in the comic Mark was like anti hero he team up with Spider man to fight the bad guys I hope if the show wouldn’t be cancelled because Disney’s fault they really give the show a another chance to bring back the show is the best show ever, and I want Hobie Brown to talk without interrupting in the show, and he deserves better, he was talking in the opera but dress up like a goblin I want the real Hobie Brown give him some respect in the show by the way I’m a Marvel fans, and I love The Spectacular Spider Man.
Burglar redemption!
this was such a peak show
There's a possibility that Black Cat will piece together the relationship between Spider-Man and Ben Parker and why her Father atoned himself for killing him. That way, she'll know Spider-Man's identity as Ben Parker's nephew, Peter. And then she'll forgive him and learn to trust him again.
That would be nice
That would be great if it weren't CANCELLED.

Look at my boy taking on all them without needing an army of superhero teams or spider sidekicks.
Looking at you Ultimate and Marvel Spiderman.
2:22 The Man who murder Ben Parker
Spider-Man is the most beloved and tragic hero of the Marvel universe. He is a true hero who truly sticks to his moral code: "With Great Power comes Great Responsibility". No matter the hardship, obstacles, or how cruel the odds are at him, he always gets back up and stands his ground on what he believes in. He may have his flaws, but he keeps on improving and never backs down in doing what he is meant to do. Despite all the good deeds he did, he is willing to carry the burden on his own. Even if it means having those close to him resenting him, such as this here where Cat blames him for forever putting her father in prison, possibly now making her his enemy. Whatever fault he did that unintentionally harmed those around him, Spidey is willing to carry it and find a way to make amends despite his struggles. Despite the hardships he's fighting, he still pushes forward.
Lack Cat here is a complex character. She seems to like Spidey despite blaming him for her father's decision. Her actions speak louder than her emotion-filled words.
It’s Funny When You Remember that gobbling is alone right now he’s seriously just singing for himself. (Norman really enjoys that gobbling is alone right now he’s seriously just singing for himself. Norman really enjoys being the goblin. been the goblin.)
Such a great episode
is the goblin voice actor the same as Starscream?
Yep. Steve Blum.
I didn't expect any Spider-Man to actually go "SUCKER!", but man does it make me wanna start watching this one's series
I really hope and praying to God that there will be new seasons if The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series will finally return?! Why you all ask? Because ever since I saw episode 25 and 26 back on 2009, I was very sad & pissed that the show ended up very badly with an anticlimactic ending! And I really hope that Spider-Man from Earth-26496 will find a way to make Felicia Hardy the Black Cat forgive him of his selfish revenge on her father; Walter Hardy the Cat Burglar. Cause I realized that in the grand calculus of the Multiverse, all the Ben Parkers that said to his nephew Peter “With great power, there must also come great responsibility” and that’s on the day he died. Witch means his Uncle Ben didn’t die for nothing. And I really love this version of Black Cat on The Spectacular Spider-Man, because she’s so scolding hot!
If it makes you feel any better we have a pretty good idea with what would have followed Greg wiseman the writer of the show has come out and said what we would have gotten it would have ended with peter marrying Mj
Damn... I was hoping for Gwen. Bc there is a reality in which Peter marries Gwen instead of MJ. And this series really set the two up to be a couple. @@ShirouBrando
