Patrick I interpreted Lee squeezing the glass shard and having some blood ooze out of his hand as Lee clinging onto life, just long enough for him to save Clem and hoping get to Omid and Christia with Clementine, but as we all know, Lee only gets to Clementine
Love how the violin adds sadness, but desperation knowing that your already going to die. While the rock in the music adds determination to save Clementine. It shows how Lee is desperate and determined to make sure Clementine is safe.
Lucas Johnson sort of live: your my brother. In the Arthur’s last mission when he sacrificed himself for John. Same concept, they know they were going to die but they had one last thing they had to do.
I really hate how in the show everyone just bitches out when they see a small group of zombies. The way Lee plowed through a whole crowd makes characters like Rick and Daryl seem so insignificant.
Woah. This actually appeared in my inbox. Huh. Neat. Anyways. You have a point, but Lee was just one guy with a cleaver. Even though he was still bitten, that wouldn't stop the walkers from trying to kill him.
+potatoassassin8 he means in the sense he has nothing to lose he knows he is already dead, where as in the show they still have everything to lose that's left. not to mention they do deal with them when they need to and like badass' look at Michone for example.
...with regards to his own safety, had he not been bitten he most likely would have tried to find another way to her, this is clearly expressed in his talk with Omid etc prior to going rambo
"You can take my arm, you can take my boat, you can take my ammo, and you can take my life. But, you *NEVER* take my girl or my friends." -Lee Everette
Dude I remember clearing it like a boss Not even getting bitten That was seriously badass Since it was on a bus at 1am and my headphones were loud as fuck
I have played season 1 at least 7 times (it's pretty much the only story driven game I enjoy replaying), each time that scene gets me because I always get caught up in the moment and forget. It's pretty much burned into my memory. It might just be a case of the "press here" icon being broken, it wouldn't be the first time in this game, but yeah.. Or I could be encountering a weird glitch a with a bizzare frequency.
I don't think people realize just how truly badass this OST is. The name, Armed With Death, isn't just to sound cool. Lee is bitten, he knows he won't make it. And a man who has nothing but his life to lose can only go to war with one weapon: death. Him being dead already means he is using what the walkers have done to everyone in the past against them. It truly doesn't get more fucking cool than this.
True. "Armed with Death" literally says that he's dangerous BECAUSE he's dying & that his biggest weapon is his inevitable death that's coming. The guitars in a way, symbolize his determination & grit to get Clem to safety & the violins symbolize his inevitabe and heartbreaking death that he KNOWS is coming. Notice how he starts off with his normal complexion and by the time he's done, he's getting paler. He's only got so long until he becomes apart of the horde; the main thing he's sought out to destroy.
Lee most likely would've given up if he hadn't found Clementine. Most, if not everything you do in the game is because Lee wants to protect Clementine. When you try to stop everyone from eating human meat at the St. Johns', the game tells you to stop Clementine. When you go to Savannah, it's to get Clementine on a boat and save her from the rest of the world. When you get to Crawford, you get the car battery for the boat. The one thing Lee has to lose is not his life; but Clementine.
Yeah me too. And this music added so much too it... Just mind blowing. Best scene of the best game ever made. And the music was such a big part of that. Especially this scene.
yep, I was on Facebook in the The Walking Dead Fan Pages, and I saw that a girl prefer Luke over Lee, I was like WHAT THE HECK?! NOBODY CAN REPLACE LEE! OF COURSE LUKE WAS A GREAT CHARACTER, BUT COME ON, YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS! I accept people prefer Luke over Kenny (though I prefer Kenny) but Luke over LEE??
I know! I was like WTF??? That person is pretty crazy :s I know Luke is nice and all, but Lee can't be replaced. That isn't about opinions, maybe some prefer Kenny over Luke, or Luke over Kenny, that's reasonable, but Luke over Lee? That's not an opinion !
That moment where my Lee picked up the glass shard with his rapidly numbing arm, the arm he kept because he had a little girl to save that mattered more than a chance for survival, and he prepared to push through a herd of flesh-eating death. And this music kicked in. Lee is a true man.
he didnt do it just because a "chance for survival" he also did it because he thought it would give him more time to save clementine.(im talking about cutting lee's arm off)
Hellz yeah. When Lee got stuck on that sign, I didn't bother asking for any other option other than "Fuck it, I'm going for it". I was determined to save Clementine and this music fitted perfectly for me. No horde of zombies is going stop me.
I have recently completed the game and this was one of the BADASSEST moments i've ever seen in video games.I already miss the characters from the game.Damn' right to feels!!!
Just hearing this song takes me right back to that scene, and it truly conveys the willingness to never surrender and fight until you truly cannot anymore.
The thing that makes me sad is that Lee has been with the group since the beginning and he has been there protecting Clem and he is one of the last survivors and he dies for Clem :'(
Lee dying is what makes his character truly the most memorable one. You just never get over his death. You never let go. The writers managed to make us so attached to his character that we can never move on. This scene solidified Lee's spot as the greatest protagonist in all of gaming and arguably fiction. He's just unbelievable
-kills senator -police car crashes -walkers -finds little girl -puts his life on the line for a random little girl -joins a group and becomes basically the leader -everyone turns on each other and die but him and the little girl stick together -gets bit -little girl kidnapped -goes through a horde of walkers by himself, no guns or any people only a glass shard and axe -saves girl -dies -doesn’t elaborate Based.
After running from walkers for the entire season, being able to face them head on was catharsis if I've ever seen it. "I'm as good as dead, but I've got one thing left to do."
Just finished episode five yesterday, and this part was badass. Yet, I still bawled my eyes out when Lee died. Playing a game like this, you get so attached to the characters. I've started season two, and I know it will be just as spectacular.
So glad I didn't give up Lee's arm back in the surgery room. Lee picking up that glass shard and gripping it so hard to the point his hand bled while the opening guitar lick slowly erupted... Man, it's one of those moments in gaming your will *never* forget.
In the finale of Season Two I want to see Clementine, Luke and Kenny all push through a huge herd of walkers together with this epic track in the background.
Scott Hawke Mostly forced as hell. Fucking Bonnie. She's the one getting him killed yet she blames you for it. That character is such a worthless piece of shit.
Francis Farterburger I never liked Bonnie since her debut in 400 days. That's why I'm glad I let her drown on my second playthrough because I knew Luke dies no matter what.
I absolutely adore this scene. The emotion, the music, just the will power to fight for what you love. It’s something that I hadn’t seen. This game will forever be in my heart.
Lee 💪 This track is iconic. A perfect combination of Lee's exasperation, anger, and everlasting love and protection over Clementine, and how much he was willing to fight for her. RIP Lee, you were the best hero ever to grace a game. 🧟🪓
Part of me really wants to hear a reprise of this theme in Season 2, and another part of me doesn't want season 2 to become as dire as this for Clementine.
This scene and music just gets to me every time. Seeing Lee determined as ever knowing that Clem is up ahead and there is a horde of walkers that stand between him and her. He has that look in his eyes and will stop at nothing to get her back. So powerful and so badass. I know some will say the end brought his character full circle but this scene did for me.
it feels badass and sad at the same time. a bit of rock and violin thrown in. he had to kill those zombies even if his arm was fucked up. he had to reach his goal. and his goal? to make sure clementine is okay throughout the entirety of his life with her. even to its end, he got to see her okay whilst dying
I loved this scene in the game. At this point he had nothing left, he’d lost his family and there were only 2 members of the group still alive. Yet he perseveres with death essentially knocking on his door, all for the CHANCE to save Clementine
As a wise person said on the video of Lee marching through the horde. “The most dangerous person in the world is the one who has a lot to protect and nothing to lose!”
To this day this scene is still one of the most Badass things I've ever seen. Lee fighting through a whole horde of walking with just a melee weapon. And while being down an arm. He may be gone but he died a hero. He completed his last task. Saving Clem.
This Song is so amazing I can't listen to it without thinking about Lee's death oh and by the way Kenny didn't die necessarily, in my play through of the game he was somewhere in which Lee couldn't see so Kenny in the play through I and many others had could have found a way out. All we can do is hope until it happens unfortunately additionally don't get your hopes up that the person Clem thought was dead will show in Season 2 Episode 2 if you look at telltale's other game "The Wolf Among Us" on the next time on for Episode one it showed Toad saying "BigBy is that you" and it didn't happen on the 2nd episode and was on the 2nd episodes next time on two. Don't be surprised if the person come back mid- or end of the season.
I didn't even read the other options. I went across first, those 2 where too important to lose. When I got stranded up there, I read the option "fuck it" and picked it instantly. I may be surrounded by a horde with only one arm and a meat cleaver, but they sure as hell where not gonna stop me from saving Clem. Then this music kicked in. I have never felt so fucking invincible.
Plowing through that horde of zombies with this music playing was the best and most epic part of any game, especialy this gen. It even tops uncharted's airplane scene for me! And by the way, i cried like a litle kid while listening to this again.....
Lee fought with every last ounce of strength and to his last breath to save a little girl who was once a stranger to him. You'd best god damn believe that *Clementine will remember that.*
It always gets me how Lee picks up the shard of glass with his infected arm and squeezes it so tightly, blood runs down his hand. It is such an epic sight that I missed because I cut off his arm to give him more time.
@@WORXSFIRST4EVER Either way, he would have died and become a walker if he didn’t tell Clementine to shoot him. But yeah, that makes sense since the people who did the cutting had little medical knowledge to begin with. Also, cutting off the bitten limb wouldn’t have worked anyway since blood pumps much faster than we anticipate, so by the time you get bitten, you might as well already be dead.
*You walk into a street full of walkers and you have mere hours before you join them in union* *you step on a glass sharp and you look at your bitten hand* *the Violin plays a sad tune but you remember that you have a loved one that needs to be saved* *you cut your hand with the glass shard and the guitar and your mind enter as you realize* *there’s no going back*
When listening to this, I can just imagine, that the memory of people who died in his life were giving him the strength to cut through that hoard. Not just the thought of finding Clementine. His parents, his brother, Doug, Carley, Duck, Katcha, Kenny (yes I know he comes back in Season 2, but I don’t care and I don’t consider it canon), Ben, Larry, all of these people who he considered family, it was as if these spirits of these dead people were giving him the strength to get through the hoard
Tragic determination. He fights for the future of a girl he knows he can no longer share with her. In that final moment, god himself strengthened him, I am sure of it!
The electric guitar, the violins, the mood, the pace, everything. They’re all saying one thing. Something we were all thinking as we marched through that horde. Get. Clementine. Back.

Plowing through that horde of zombies with this music playing was the best and most epic part of any game, especialy this gen. It even tops uncharted's airplane scene for me! And by the way, i cried like a litle kid while listening to this again.....
he he... i get it ARMed with death
A hole thanks
That's one of my favorite songs in this soundtrack
It's so sad😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞
Literally Lee’s main theme.
Lee fought with every last ounce of strength and to his last breath to save a little girl who was once a stranger to him.
You'd best god damn believe that
*Clementine will remember that.*
It always gets me how Lee picks up the shard of glass with his infected arm and squeezes it so tightly, blood runs down his hand. It is such an epic sight that I missed because I cut off his arm to give him more time.
Did you know that Lee d*es of blood loss not of the infection in the ending where you cut his arm off?
@@WORXSFIRST4EVER Either way, he would have died and become a walker if he didn’t tell Clementine to shoot him. But yeah, that makes sense since the people who did the cutting had little medical knowledge to begin with. Also, cutting off the bitten limb wouldn’t have worked anyway since blood pumps much faster than we anticipate, so by the time you get bitten, you might as well already be dead.
Someone in 2021 remembering lee everett?
Yep.
@@movieman175 :D
always
Omg I still get goosebumps from this. I can see Lee bravely walking by the street and cutting zombies just to safe Clem.
Why this theme is SO FUCKING EPIC!!??
*You walk into a street full of walkers and you have mere hours before you join them in union*
*you step on a glass sharp and you look at your bitten hand*
*the Violin plays a sad tune but you remember that you have a loved one that needs to be saved*
*you cut your hand with the glass shard and the guitar and your mind enter as you realize*
*there’s no going back*
When listening to this, I can just imagine, that the memory of people who died in his life were giving him the strength to cut through that hoard.
Fr bro
This brings back all the feels
It makes remember the first time I've ever played TWD in 2017😢😢😢
Tragic determination. He fights for the future of a girl he knows he can no longer share with her. In that final moment, god himself strengthened him, I am sure of it!
The electric guitar, the violins, the mood, the pace, everything. They’re all saying one thing. Something we were all thinking as we marched through that horde.
Get. Clementine. Back.
That and do it before you become apart of the horde.
memories dawg…
I’ve been looking around for this awesome music!
If depends on me, that game and that badass final scene will never die or be forgotten.
