DEBOSS GARAGE hey I need to talk to him is there anyway I could contact him
How can I get in contact with Todd?
That's a perfect truck. That interior/body style is great! Not to mention with a Duramax!
+HKMcC _ This is my favorite body style, Before the company went into bankruptcy protection in 08 and cheaped out on everything. They didn't fix it until 14. I found from 08-13 cheap interiors, cheap paint and I never liked the outside where the doors go to the bottom of the truck. Without rocker panels it always looked off to me...
+DEBOSS GARAGE Yes. I have a 03 with 250k. They are awesome trucks. 08-13 had a much poorer build quality like you said. But now GM has really turned itself around and building good cars/trucks again!
240xxx km's on my 2008 Sierra 5.3, not a single issue short of regular maintenance on wear and tear items. I believe its the younger generation of people not taking care of their vehicles to blame. I truly do not believe for a second that GM cheaped out on everything. The interior, sure but its a pickup truck made for work. My paint is in excellent condition and very minimal rust on the underside. I live in Ottawa, ON and drive in very similar conditions that you would experience. Just my opinion on the nnbs style truck. Great vids!
@@hkm_865 Thought I would chime in a few years later and would like to say I have a 2005 Tahoe that is going on 365k miles and still running smooth as ever. Hands down one of the best platforms gm has made.
they should have made these from the factory
Basically an excursion
EPA........
Yung syrup aka lil pencil but way before the excursion GM made diesel suburban and suburban duallies...
Yung syrup AKA Lil Pencil WOAH....an excursion is nowhere near quality of gmc
jake chaplin, these things get better MPG than the stock 6L.
Our company has twelve 2015 Silverado 2500HDs with the 6.6 Duramax with the Allison and they are amazing trucks. When my 2014 3500HD Ram was in the shop I drove one of them and pulled my 36' gooseneck flatbed with it and even loaded down with 32,000 lbs behind it, it pulled it no problem. They really are a wonder. 417 hp/765 lbft of torque is a feat, and they haul ass. My 6.7 Cummins makes 370/800 and you can definitely feel the difference in gearing. My Ram (single rear wheel) is rated for 24,500 GVWR and I've pulled close to 40,000 lbs with it (in extreme circumstances, short distances). I'm a big fan of both trucks, and I have always loved Mopar, but I love the Chevy's torque. If I could have a Dodge chassis, a Duramax with an Allison, and a Ford interior, I'd be set. I didn't include the PowerStroke because our company couldn't strike a deal with Ford for this year so we didn't get any of their new trucks. I have no experience with the new Fords.
that laugh at 7:01. the Diesel HP laugh. I rode in a '08 Dmax with twins, the owner of BR Powersource, in Oakville, owned it... yes, that grown man giddy laugh, so great.
Chevy and gmc would have been smart to do this to compete with the excursion
They should've made one of these, would've competed with the excursion and they'd still be around
Well he has the best duramax made the LBZ 👍🏻👍🏻
Very Cool... mine is from a 08 Lmm to a 08 Chevy 2500 Suburban that came from the Secret Service with a stage 5 trans 6speed
Hey buddy hope all is well. I have to just say by starting off by saying your videos over the years or just amazing you or one of the few I would say master mechanics that can handle anything thrown his way
Amazing vehicle! Would love to have one some time. Currently driving a LLY crew cab. But this is sweet.
Brilliant job on that Denali, wow.
This video may have pushed me over the edge in my decision to swap a duramax into my truck. It’s worth it if you tow I think. Good vid as always! Let the research begin!
Brandon Ward got a 03 tahoe myself, would a 6.6 like the one in this video fit in perfectly?
Its a nice swap congrats on the 4th one, I can only imagine the first.....but fully loaded 25 mpg....LOL
Incredible considering the weight of the truck.
What I was thinking 25mpg fully loaded ooookay I have to see it to believe lol
Is that surprising to you? Never owned a diesel before I guess.
@@MrPland1992 if it was still the 6.0, it’d get 6-7 mpg fully loaded.
Great job! I built a 05 duramax Denali !!
I need to do this to my 2000 SLT Yukon 4x4. It was my dream truck in highschool so I'm kind of attached to it even tho I can afford something much much nicer. Sentiment makes us do stupid stuff sometimes lol
The mirrors give it a nice touch, it would have been awesome if we could get them straight from the factory
Is Canada’s strict on emissions? Do you still have to get diesel emission tested? I notice he still has the egr in there. Well at least he still has the stock cold side(passenger side) intercooler pipe which is apart of the egr system. Still has stock air intake too. Didn’t sound loud at all so I would imagine it’s stock exhaust too.
Diesel all the trucks!!! Love it!
A truck ain’t a truck if it ain’t diesel!
That's very nice. I like the idea.
Hi awesome videos!! By chance do you have the link to Todd I can't seem to figure it out? Thank you for your time!
Last year I found this exact suv /truck on kijiji
I tried to find Todd with the links you gave but no luck. I’m in the middle of my lbz swap in my 05 Avalanche. I need help with the motor mounts and the body lift he makes.
Hey bud im a try to do it in a sierra 1500 do you think you can give me some tips for this swap?
I wonder if you could just swap the body from a yukon xl and sit it on a 3500 pickup chassis with all the drive train???
I want one like this!
I have a ‘06 1500 Suburban, I’ve been wondering about the cost of a LBZ swap, I know a 12 valve swap would be so much cheaper and cheaper to build, but you have to do all that cutting to fit the 6cyl and beef up the 1/2 ton frame....
super interested in the 6.6 diesel swap, can you do it to a new model say 2015??
Where is your shop? I noticed in another video you said Vancouver to Ontario. Are you in Ontario?
With that I know you're very busy but I'm just looking for some input I have an 05 Sierra HD. 8.1 truck and I'm trying to rehab it and put it back on the road going over everything from front to back top-to-bottom but to build this truck right with Raylar parts to make real power I'll have over $10,000 in the engine alone before I touch anything else so I'm debating on doing an LBZ lmm or LML. If you could when you have a second please reach out and just let me know what you think should I build the big block is there other companies that I could have better options with or just go with the diesel. As an FYI I do have an amazing engine builder on machine shop local to me
this is awesome
How much would be the cost for taking out diesel engine. and replace it for another
How much thos cost to get done I have a 05 Yukon xl 5.3 just want a little more kick and mpg 🤗
How can I get in contact with him to see if you can put a lbz into an 05 z71 tahoe trying to gain tow capacity and mpg
That's pretty sweet.
I'd love to have one of these. I know that GM makes a 1 ton Suburban starting 2016 but I'm not sure if you can get it with diesel.. If it does have one, you probably gotta have that DEF, too..
The only way you can purchase a diesel suburban from GM is if it's for a fleet or military, or FBI.
I need the info of your shop, looking to duramax an Escalade Esv...
Is this possible on a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500
Did you install the lights on top or is that factory?
That is cool swap and e test legal , makes it all the better in Ontario. Hard to find the 2 trucks to make one i figure tho ??
3 trucks one for frame one for engine and the original Denali body
I got gapped by a Duraburb on I-40 a few years back 😂 bad ass family wagon
Matt Bynum A very close friend of mine has a ‘10 suburban. 2500 4x4 that was done by duraburb in Florida and runs 7’s in the 8th mile.
Never seen you so smiley
Great videos! I've got a very nice/dead reliable but DOG slow '99 Suburban 3/4 ton 6.5 diesel, would like to swap to older 5.9 and SAS. How do you get by emissions? I'd imagine it's easier to get to about 400 RWHP with the 5.9, cheaper too. Can you still plug into OBD 2 port for anything ? Thanks! I'm also an Ontarian (Renfrew)
pre 2000 you can reclassify your burban under "hot rod" go to the licence office and pick up an application. It will have to pass the emissions for the Cummins which should be a sniff test. 2000 and newer, you have to be a little more creative...
How much would it cost for me to do an 6.0 vortec to a 8.1L vortec on a 2006 GMC Yukon Denali 1500
40 hours for the swap? That is ridiculously fast.
No its ridiculously efficient. If you tried to do this swap at your local chevy dealer or any mechanic for that fact they round up in terms of labor, not to mention their lunches are included in the labor. 😒
I’m about that into my first one. The amount of shit that just plugs up and works is astounding. The lengthts GM went to reduce the number of parts needed is insane.
saab92513584 how did your swap go? She still going strong?
@@mikep6726 I'm still finishing up some final touches like the custom A/C lines and driveshaft. I chopped down a 3500 silverado frame and dropped a suburban body on it so I've had quite a bit more fab work than a standard swap. But its just as reliable as any other duramax at this point.
Im looking for a tappered body lift for my 08 denali swap. How do i get ahold of this guy?
I want one!
Good guys.
I have a 04 z71 Tahoe. I would love to convert to Durmax. I just don't know how much labor and parts would be
Rian find a donor vehicle of the same year and interior stuff. Like a pickup donor. Swap everything over. You'll retain the factory look
DO YOU HAVE A WEB SITE IM CURENTLY SEACHINFG FOR A H2 SUT TO DROP A DURAMAX AND TRANS IN!
GM can we please bring back the diesel SUV’s
I want one!!!!!
Hi greetings from BC! I can get a low km 3/4 ton crew cab 4×4 2007 classic LBZ, can I drop a suburban body on that crew cab 6'6" box frame do you think ? 😀 I get it complete but I don't want the wheel chair lift crew cab body 😁
Entirely possible. You will need a body lift to cover the much larger transmission. Todd from this video makes them and ships them all over. His link is in the description.
Great tq
Awesome.
I would love to have a duramax swap in my 11 Sierra. lol
Wow nice job. That's something I love to do. Can you do the same with a cummins
+Dave vonAnderseck Yep. I put a 5.9 Cummins in a 2005 3/4 ton Silverado and a 3.9l Cummins in a 2004 Tahoe. Both are on my channel, check them out.
im going to ask this at the risk of sounding dumb but.... would it be possible to start with a truck and chop off the cab and add the body of a yukon or suburban what ever your flavor? i have seen this done with the F-series going to excursion heck even a 6 door excursion?
+brandon mash In theory yes, but the ecu is only programmed for that specific vehicle. The rear wiper, climate controls and things like that wouldn't work. The internet has been around long enough now that if it hasn't been done, its probably not a good idea
I have an 05 h2 SUT. I'm wanting to install the LBZ or LMM
+bikerbrego The link to Tod's site is on the video. Shoot him a message and he will be able to tell you better.
How much one of these cost? CAD.
I would love to find a Yukon XL with a diesel...
I’m trying to get my wife to give me the green light on my 2001 GMC Yukon to do a lbz swap lol
I have a 2003 GMC Yukon XL with a Flat Spot Cam (misses at low RPM's) and a bad leaking Rear Main Seal the Motor (5.3 Vortec) has 260K on it but runs pretty good. Its just too much work at that mileage to repair the Cam and the Rear Main Seal so I am looking at to Crate Motor a Reman Motor Nothing I would love more is to put a Duramax in it however I am disabled and in addition don't have the ability (Knowledge) to do it or direct it. I will never be able to afford a truck New or Used with Duramax, Any Chance your looking for another one to build? Contact me if so. Thanks
Take my Yukon XL and my money.... And turn it into this beast
I'd have to have a suburban with the proper front grill for that lbz
DO you have an update email for Todd? I tried to email him and it kicked it back.
Awsome
Yeap!
i wish I lived in the states I would’ve put the 6.6 on my suburban with no hesitation
Sweet, I'd love to put one of those LBX and Allison in my 97 Suburban.
Put a 6.5 those actually came in those. The
+Dodge 318 Cummins
Not even close to the same thing.
+davkenrem the suburbans and Blazers earlier than 1999 came with a 6.5 turbo diesel a duramax came in 2002+ 2500s
+Dodge 318 Cummins --Guys are putting Cummins in all kinds of vehicles. I'm very aware of which years the Duramax came in. I have a rust free 97 that would make a great place to stick a duramax into. Look like it would be a fun project.
+davkenrem the price it's going to cost for the conversion isn't worth it. Most people who do Diesel swaps mainly do it on rare trucks from the 50s 60s 70s and 80s like an international harvester or a crew cab dodge no one will buy a $5,000 engine and drop it in a $3000 suburban it just doesn't make any sense.
Have you done the h2 hummer diesel swap ?
+bikerbrego No, I keep hoping someone will drop one off with either a Dirty Max or a Cummins. I almost did a 4BT in an Escalade 2 years ago too but the wife wasn't on board. Its pretty safe to say that whatever leaves my shop is not wife approaved
In trying to find someone who's done it. I'm trying to find out what motor mounts to use or if I have to build them and the wiring.
+bikerbrego For a duramx or Cummins?
@@DEBOSSGARAGE can this be done to a 2000 chevy suburban.
did they ever make a sierra denali drama in this year? Or any drama powered yukon? Id love to swap a max into my short wheel base denali.
What do you mean the pickup wouldn't have had the dual climate?
Joshua Childers climate control for the back passengers aka 2nd and 3rd row
Wish I knew the price. I have an 03 suburban.
Dude you and him should get together and put Duramaxes in Hummers I always thought Hummer should have the Duramax diesel and even a to motor electric transmission would be great you know the hybrid 2 mode
Can i do this to a regular yukon not a xl?
Yes, but you will need to shorten the frame
Check out duraburb
You would think gm would have dont this already
Hey I'm looking for some info on doing a similar swap to a 91 or prior suburban. I'm in Grassie about 15 min from dunnville. I saw this truck for sale on Kijiji. Guy who owned it told me to contact you here. Message me back on here to exchange numbers or something. Interested in talking to you at the very least. Thanks.
So fuckin mint
This is a full time Buisness. Take the new Tahoe/suburbans rip out the stock engine and tranny, swapin a duramax and people would actually buy these things if I had the option I would. When I have a family I’m gonna buy a 7.3 powerstroke diesel excursion. I might even swap in an OBS 7.3 powerstroke in a good body style 04 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL.
Clapped out truck, with an engine that will outlast four truck bodies.
Change that squeaky belt ;)
SPNFENDER They sound to me.
5.0Titan it seems like Duramaxes always have that belt squeak
Anyone in California that does this kinda swaps..?
Do my truck!!! Where you at?
That Yukon was about 12 houses from mine in Kitchener today ....thought maybe you were going to give it to me
And yet the belt is squeaking
How much would one of these cost??
+Martin Valle How much would you pay?
+DEBOSS GARAGE 25k
+Martin Valle Although I never asked what the cost was, I would think that would be on the low end. You can head to his website and ask him personally though. I think his link is in the video
Stock swaps turn key under 100k miles go for typically 27k-30k loaded.
Dmax
Neither of you looked very comfortable sitting in it. Something wrong with the seats?
The only thing I don't like about your videos when you are interviewing someone or someone else is talking, you are constantly saying O yeah, O yeah, O OK ,OK, AHA, is that right ,is that right , dude let the man finish talking before you say a word. Its really aggravating to hear 2 people talk at the same time in a video... really grinds my gears lol .... But that's just my opinion.
This was a pretty early video. I hope I'm getting better
No way in hell he only spent 40 hours on the swap
His names Todd not tom get it right bud
We made a note at the top apologizing... Todd forgave us, we're still friends.
Too much shop echo ooo.
"ZED" cringey.
I want one!
