No, wrong, wrong in every level. Top gear and grand tour is Jeremy's children. Don't be poppy eyed just because you like this interview and the man is a genius. Research more on those two tv shows, and you will know the truth.
This was prophetic by Andy here at 21:44 - because in their recent special Eurocrash (June 2023) there is a scene where Clarkson gets into a F1 style sports car, and is too fat to compete in the drive around the track, with Hammond mercilessly mocking Clarkson for being too fat and obese. And then they literally had to take the car apart to get Clarkson out, as he was stuck in it. So August 2016 prediction from Andy was 100% correct.
***** I refrain from judging... :D But I remember some time around episode like 12 or something, Jeremy complained, that because of introducing HD they have a lady wipe his sweat and touch up his makeup... I wonder what he says now...

Love Top Gear and Amazon's Grand Tour. A car show in 4K makes totally sense because of the extra beautiful detail of great cars, country landscapes, and the real world. 4K is not for viewing the person's hair. I wish all of Top Gear was done in 4K, however, Top Gear got better and better as the cars and nature could be captured in all its splendor. Ask National Geographic and the NFL what 4K brings.
Please Please Please Wilman, do everything you can to get it worldwide (I know it already will be but here in New Zealand we don't have Amazon Prime.) Can't wait for the Grand Tour!
Mr Wilman the mastermind behide top gear/GT and lots of clarkson programs. Host was an ideal person to pose questions with her background and ...I would say there professional relationship.A little spy in the camp maybe!
Just from this interview alone I think you can see the dynamic between Top Gear and the BBC Directors during the final years of Clarkson. The coldness, the demand to be as inclusive and politically correct to the point where the personality of the presenters were at risk to please the people at the top rather than for the viewers. You look at what was successful at the end of the 2000s on the BBC and compare them to the end of the 2010s; Doctor Who, Top Gear etc. have all paled in comparison and are still living off of what made them great than being ambitious. The moto Top Gear under Clarkson and Wilman was always "Ambitious, but rubbish" and people liked the charm as it wasn't the best, but 110% effort was always put in by everyone involved. It gets to the point now where the current crop of Top Gear presenters are just re-hashed versions of May, Hammond and Clarkson...
11:20 - I said exactly this back in 2015, Jeremy Clarkson should have been suspended without salary for six months. He should have also been fined by the BBC and compensation paid. After a six month suspension, Jeremy should have rejoined Hammond and May and relaunched a new series of Top Gear with a Christmas Special in 2016 and a new season in January 2017. BBC didn't do it - I wonder why????
Because he's a 25% legal partner with the other 2 and Andy but his ego is outsized . I'm sure 75% of the firm (andy, may, Richard, ) wanted that but the minority owner Jeremy got his way., as a result they lost out big to things like , trashing a bbc office building , a supermarket set for a defunct TV series, access to top celebs, who are there to promote their projects on other bbc shows . While I love w chump and sons productions, and the team of 4 , I don't understand why Jeremy screwed everyone of his partners. That said I do like The Grand Tour, yet there is no way Amazon would and could match the grandness of what bbc provided. Or really understand television , even now it's easier to find shows on Netflix than it is shows that actually exist on Prime TV, without searching , then clicking and finally the you may also like will show you what you would have watched if it was easier to find.
when top gear got sacked, I made a crap comment to and about Andy. I take it back with an apology, I realize Andy has the boys back. I guess the beef was with another producer. R.I.P. top gear welcome Grand Tour!!! 👍👍💪
He's and Clarkson or the creators of Top Gear 2002 -2014 look it up. Why would he present on a show his own company abandoned ? That said the grand tour is awesome and he should show up on that .
BBC just putting jailbars around the new show. How could you sue somebody for a handwritten laptime ? DAFUQ? in Germany this would have not a single chance at court. The judge would probably laugh his ass of.
In Germany you can : kill and eat a fellow human being, if its consenting, you can lock your teen daughter up as your new wife in. Hidden apt of your same house, get her pregnant , and. No one questions, till the police eventually show up . You can once gain buy hitlers books , and have nazi's running around after claiming things would never repeat , therefore you are correct , 🤣😂

Top Gear wouldn't have been the kind of show it was (with all its success) without him and Clarkson at the helm. It's central theme was the irreverent dicking about if it's three old codgers - and the occasional use of bad language.

@@sonkization No, Clarkson himself called Wilman the bran behind Top Gear.
More I listen to Andy, the more I can hear how he and Jeremy grew up together, and developed their timing, tones, and phrasing.
I think I would enjoy Andy coming into frame and throwing soil at Jeremy occasionally... What an admirable chap!
Listening to Andy I got the impression that they were the victims of their own success. I'm glad they are together doing the show again.
indeed
Came for the sneak peek, ended up enjoying the rest of the conversation even without it.
Love the candid demeanor of Andy. I'm not much for listening to a bunch of chit chat but this was fantastic.
