  • In this video, I do an intake install on a 2005 Mini Cooper S.
Rather than the traditional telling you method, I thought a ride along with me on the process would be better and unique.
The intake was purchased from Mini Mania and if you want one for your first generation MINI as well, the link is below.

I just purchased an R53 05 S same color and stripping... that car is cherry bro... they are a pain in the ass with the typical MINI problems that drive you bananas but...the Supercharger S
drives like no other car I've driven in 46 years... and I've driven quite a few... none of them like this for 3 grand!!.. nice job on the vid bro.

Do you need to remap it after the install or is there a natural/automatic increase in power?

you can modify the original air box there is a 3d printed thing you drill on the inside and then you can use a pod filter inside the box keeping all hot air out and cut a second air inlet cut a circle hole in the plastic in line with the back of the original air box 2x cold air its taking it from the scuttle vents and the front inlet

That deletes the stock cold air intake. The air will be warmer now as most now comes from under the bonnet. Sounds like you need a new cam chain tensioner. DO NOT drive a Mini that rattles like that! It will get expensive if the tensioner blades break

You'd gain 3-5 hp from this type of mod. Its more for throttle response though. But this need a cold air intake hose too. Bad idea to run without as the air will come from the engine bay, which is warmer, so you'd probably loose 10-15 hp from using hot air.
