for abdomen examination you don't ask the patient to ben the knees so it will relax the abdominal wall muscles ?

Listening before palpation may in theory reduce the incidence of exaggerated bowel sounds but when looking to confirm the presence (or not) either order will do.

I am a Student Paramedic. We are told to auscultate before palpation of the abdomen, the only time not to follow IPPA. Any reason for the difference?? Great video source though - I shall recommend you to my colleagues. Thanks
