Demonstration of a basic cardiovascular examination. This video is designed for use for our medical students in conjunction with their clinical teaching workshops and clinical examinations iBook.
It is not a stand alone tool however we have shared it in good faith incase anyone finds it useful.

what is the purpose of listening with the bell of the stethoscope over the precordium

The bell is best for picking up the lower pitch rumbling of mitral stenosis best heard at the apex

Is it a must to ask the patient if he wants a chaperone present ?

I would and I think the GMC suggest it
