Eh, I'm more curious as to why the OLED panel isn't glued directly onto the glass. Removing the front glass already kills the display and the omission of gluing the display to the glass layer can potentially cause some units to possibly get large particles of dust underneath.

@AmpEdition I'd say you're right but with these motorized camera phones using similar stepper motors with threading for the camera module from the likes of Oppo, Vivo, RealMe, OnePlus, and so on, they're owned by the same company so you'd expect some similar hardware and chassis between such companies.

If you've seen the teardown on the 6T, the regular 7 is mostly the same, with small differences with the camera and SoC. Also, he'd have to import one first as they're not sold in the US officially.

Good knowing the AMOLED display is not glued to the screen like samsung did in the S10 line making the fingerprint reader irreparable without also getting a new screen which will cost hundreds for the part alone. This phone could be certified for water resistance but OP saves the consumer money by not paying to have it certified. Glad I got rid of my S10 for the OP7Pro as it is a much better phone for the money.

It’s interesting to note that you don’t pay for IP certifications. And the process for establishing it is fairly relaxed and not done by an official testing group. It can just be done in the factory with less than impressive equipment.
Great phone. Used it 1.5 years now and still going. Broke the back panel but screen is still fine (unlike my other phones that crack in a month). Only problem is that I need to actually press my charger for it to charge. Maybe there is too much dirt. My speaker holes get gunked up so fast that it wouldn't be surprising if same thing happened to charging port and charger pushed all that to the bottom
I did a bend test on my old phone when I got my new one it survived and I got bored so I snapped it in half anyway It was a 25$ budget phone so not much harm done
I watch it on my own OnePlus 7 Pro. i love it, i recommend it to everyone. It is waterproof! Seen one or the other bathtub aisle! never had a problem with anything. No stutters, no problems, solid cell phone. Greetings from Germany. And in many ways, performance is better than more expensive devices

That's the screen literally, the glass is there just for protection. In theory if he could remove the glass only (without touching the oled "paper" as you called it) the phone should still work.

That's the screen literally, the glass is there just for protection. In theory if he could remove the glass only (without touching the oled "paper" as you called it) the phone should still work.
