I have landed in Tegus many times and I have seen millions of videos from all angles and I have to say, minute 2:00 to minute 2:10.....that looks WAY TO LOW. I have never seen the engine so close to the rooftops, look at the shadow of the airplane!!! HOLY COW!!!!
Yeah it was low. You see him touch down at the piano keys, way before the touch down zone. As he has so much time to correct, but did not, we can safely assume this is a pilot had one thing on his mind, getting down early to maximise stopping distance.
justin gant the fast approach is the norm in this airport, due to the mountains around the city, is no other way. Before getting closer to the airport, the plane fly at low altitude-close to the mountain peaks. The city terrain is like a bowl, and the airport is in the bottom of the bowl. The last approach take a flight in spiral, what make the landing a very vertical landing.
I have been to Tegucigalpa a couple of times, and the most scary thing about those trips was the landing itself! But at 2:00 was a scary landing!! I would’ve been terrified!!!! It’s a good thing I never got a window seat.
Perfectly normal landing at normal speed and normal height. The houses are close, but it got exaggerated by the slight zoom of the camera. Touchdown was just past the threshold markings which is ideal. Landing has to be firm to discourage floating on such a short runway..
fingerhorn4 I felt that this landing was done at a lower altitude than normal. Speed was extremely normal for a TGU landing, touchdown was perfectly executed just have never seen the aircraft engine be so close to the rooftops especially being that no zoom was used in this video. Sad to know that TGU will never see a 757 again 😔. Thanks for the view
thanks for sharing. I must've missed the scary part. I just could not tell the scary part and I do know all there is to know about this airport and its challenging approach and landing. Thanks again, buddy!
bluelobster007 Maybe scary was the wrong wat to describe it, possibly extreme would be most appropriate being that no zoom was used in this video and how close the aircraft engine was to the rooftops seconds before touchdown. After over 15 years of landing here multiple times a year, never have I seen the aircraft be so low. Thanks for the view
Wow, that seems amazing! I could identify some models of cars on the street because the approach was so low! Do you happen to remember the registration of this plane?

Low landing??? I thought landings were on the ground.Lol. I think it should read, low approach. And yes, a great video with an exciting landing,, I mean ,a low aproach.
@@Shadia124goodnight Thanks. I've visited Honduras before, in the late 90s. Santa Barbara, Gracias, San Pedro Sula, Copan ruinas, Tela, La Ceiba, Trujillo, Utila Bay Islands. Had some really nice experiences there and appreciated your beautiful Natural areas....
It's the second most dangerous landing in the world. The aircraft is flying right over mountains as it makes its final approach to the airport (as seen by the proximity of the engine to the hills with the houses) after the final hairpin turn before landing the pilot must slam on the brakes as at the end of the already extremely short runway there is a huge ditch that planes have overshot in the past and fell down.

carleton morris neither have I! was so shocking I had to say this was a scary landing haha
I had to reply in slow mo! Unbelievably low indeed!!!

Omg from outside how would it look I wonder
@@CameTo I think he landed way to late! That runway is so short! And won't even tell you what's at the end of it!
But the pilot did a good job.
jesus that is a extremely fast approach

He never said it wasn't dangerous, he simply explained what makes it dangerous.
General Grievous You’re so uncivilised
Actually, the 757 was one of the slowest jet landing at MHTG, landing at about 114-125 it’s while the erj190 or 737 were landing at abou 134-142
@@Shaliaj7 perfect description of my family's hometown airport, a giant soup bowl. Love it

That’s how you land in Honduras...
Now that is how to fly a plane, worth every penny.
far too low and far too fast.. trust me, I've never landed a plane in my life
so beautiful city.. viva Tegucigalpa
Thanks
con qué cámara lo grabaste?? está excelente
incredible landing.
GREAT video...👍
Dang imagine your in ur house near the airport and you see a big plane so close fly by ur house
Ex Navy or Marine Aviator looking for the third wire?
Top pilot work.

I wish I did remember. I'm so sorry
brilliant! i wanna plane watch there!
great video
Landings are always low, they even touch the ground
ok, smartypants
RR sound all the way!
The buildings are different but the terrain looks a lot like where I live :D
Living at 2:00 would be noisy but awesome
You’d get tired after the third plane😂
🤣 my uncle lives in that very neighborhood
@@catrachoQ I'd have to live my life with earplugs if I lived there, haha!
so low distance from land, why so long time?
Some say this is one of the hardest airports to land at... low last minute hard left approach. Looks to be correct!
Love doing this approach in flight sim :)
I can't land big planes in TNT
Incredible.
Eso no es en Tegucigalpa, y que pasó con los cerros los rasparon o que ???
Full reverse thrust landing

The plane is a Boeing 757-200
I love the title of this video. Every time I land I’m low. 😉
Ese avión casi se lleva el techo de las casas!!!😱😱😱 That airplane It did almost carry off those houses ceiling!!!😱😱😱

The new Kia Tak!
Didn't they build a new airport?
Best 👍
Tegucigalpa looks like an attractive city from the air with all those rolling hills. Is it?
Honduran here. I’m not from TGU but it is a really big city, I’m not sure if I could say it’s attractive but it is ridiculously easy to get lost in. 😅

wow 30 segundos desde que toco el suelo
The 2nd most dangerous approach in the world is also the most dangerous one you can perform on an airliner.
That landing was so low it even touched the runway
Runway is very short so they don’t have much room to land on the touchdown zone
Nice
Aren't all landings "low" by definition?
I believe if I stand on one those roofs, I could easily touch the engines. That landing is so low
How low, in millimiters...
Wow
I think flaps are not working, that's why they are approaching so fast. I cant find other reasons
No they would be working. The approach speed is fast here because of the location of the airport and the approach aircrafts must fly
if flaps were not working you wouldn't be landing at Tegus. TRUST ME! They were set. You can see the leading edge slat deployed on the wing
It is due to airport elevation above sea level with less dense air

2:08 is way too coose

+catrachoQ That's really scary.
+Kefa Hatumi A short runway surrounded by mountains isn't scary?
+Kxmiy definitely
Because the airport is so close to the city and it's scary for being there with this extremely fast approach
2:02 WHAT A SHIT?!
I have to Drink something each time that I have gone to Tegucigalpa.
Id bet toilet paper is a good business on those trips.
No clapping? :( Boo....
norraguldheden lol I was excited about clapping but that never happened hahahahahaha maybe next time
I was waiting for that as well.
What's deal with all these people clapping after landing nowadays?
It is now considered politically incorrect to clap upon touch down, you have to wait till the plane overshoots the runway.
Clapping is for ignorant cunts...
Fuck that.
All landings are low.....duh!
