I am from Tegucigalpa, and the landing in that airport, is very extreme because you make a lot of turns before landing and the takeoff has to be more vertical than normal because there is a big mountain in front of the airport, the weather don't help because there is a lot of clouds and it rain a lot. The airport will be close only for national flights and the new airport it is outside of the city, in a big valley.
I’m from Honduras and that airport scares the crap out of me every time
757s do fly to Tegucigalpa, but the 757 is known for having superior STOL performance when compared to a 737/A320, in other words, where a 737/A320 can fly, a 757 can too

The airport is getting replaced, a new international airport is being built in Comayagua, merging a military base called Palmerola.

The problem is that the goverment is corrupt and steals the money from the project. Not even aviation is safe from the corruption of the Honduran goverment.

Honestly, the scenery in this simulator is mind-blowing. Just to have most of the world detailed. Although it does have some flaws. Like no replay witch bothers me when I land in cockpit mode. Also, not all of the buttons are interactive. Xplane is realism, and MFS2020 is seeing the world. But this is my opinion.
It's very true in my opinion but I think you need to add "in its actual state" to msfs because all the realism in X-Plane will surely be a thing here ( hopefully)

Whats funny is that they extended the runway recently lol used to be shorter. My moms from there and when we go to visit family in the 90s the plane would have to land barely at the tip of the runway and immediately brake as hard as possible. You’d have to push against the seat in front of you. Then every one would clap at the end cause we’re all still alive lol
The planes are stopping fast because they have very little weight by default. Plus, planes don't slow down with maximum brakes and maximum reverse thrust either.

I’m from Honduras and I have been landing only 2 times in Tegucigalpa and it feels very scary and there was a accident in 2009 from taca and that was scary to see in the news
Ohh and Delta use the 737 for the flight from Atlanta
And the airport I most fly is San Pedro Sula and it’s a bigger airport than Tegucigalpa and they are making another airport called Aereopuerto internacional de Palmerola, it was a Militar Airport but now they will use it like a International one, and it’s going to be done in 2021. And Toncontin (that is the name of the airport in Tegucigalpa) will be for Nacional Flights.

When you approach from the East you have to fly over the city. So it's a little bit interesting, too
I flew out of there for 3 weeks with the USAF in a C-130 back in 83. Challenging yes, but not sure I would consider it dangerous. Since those days they have cut back the hill on the approach end making the approach/landing much better. And yes we lost a C-130 there back in the 90's but I think that was due to crew error called "BRAKING" or lack thereof.

The A320 is experiencing something that Airbus is calling “a hard landing” not a crash a hard landing. This is what a hard landing looks like the nose was hard landed off the engines were hard landed straight into the ground and the gear was hard landed into the plane. If you ever heard of the Hindenburg hard landing or if you ever hard landed a wedding it’s a ton of fun. The cause of the crash was not enough passengers payed the 100 dollar soft landing fee.
