That's not even including Garnacho and Mainoo who he promoted to the 1st team. Most managers have to deal with players from a previous set-up...nobody bins the whole team and buys all new. You have to work with what you have...the inury pile up is bad, i'll admit, but not bad enough to put in a performance like that against Crystal Palace. For me personally, this is as bad as I've seen it.

My hope is that we have a massive clear out this summer, but also get a manager in who can set the team up in a way that suits the players and picks the team based on form and not favourites, thatâs all. I personally would even be ok if ETH stays as long as he stops playing this 4-1-5 play style, tells the wingers to start supporting rasmus and stop shooting all the time and starts benching players like rashford and Bruno when they arenât on form, but I doubt he will do that as heâs very stubborn and this is why a lot of us think he needs to go.

The problem is the new manager would be stuck with with ETH signings. But the main problem mark isnât addressing is how would there be a clear out when nobody wants to buy these players? Just cause you want them gone doesnât mean any other team wants them or would pay their wages or fair value for them when they know you have to get rid of them. New manager would also be stuck with Ole, Jose and Louis signings plus Jonny Evans who first came under Fergie.

EtH lost 5 out of 6 pre-season games; including to Wrexham. Lost to Burnley behind closed doors, twice! The writing was on the wall before the season started.

Anthony!?⊠the way he had set up our non midfield. There is no point denying our stats for the season which are terrible. Ancelloti only had one cb for the first game against Man city so he used Tchouameni as a cb and played a low block to provide the new defensive line with a lot of help. Ten Hag on the other hand knew that his defense was weak yet preferred to leave tons of space within the midfield which allowed Crystal Palace to bully the weak defensive line. Itâs all about adapting to the players that you have, something Ten Hag has been missing since the day he came to the team. He has two of the paciest players in the premier league with Sancho and Rashford yet doesnât opt to play fast counter attacking football like Real Madrid under Mourinho.

@@joshcookson89 I think you should watch the highlights of Madrid vs City to see how a proper low block should be played. There should be little distance between the defensive line and the midfield line and that was certainly not the case against Crystal Palace. Camavinga, Valverde and Kroos were defending at the edge of the box most of the game, thatâs a proper low block.

As much as I agree, I do think it's unfair to say he's had 400 million pounds. Because it's not ETH who is responsible for the insane contracts Man U keeps signing. I bet Liverpool or Man city could buy the EXACT same players for half the price with less than half the wages. Mark literally says that next season could be a good season because that's what these players have been doing for years. They turn up one season then go off the boil the next. Problem is that is not a sustainable model for success as we have seen in the past decade. The damage the Glazers have done like racking up debt, neglecting OT, not investing in infrastructure, poor recruitment policies and employing bankers to run the club, they aren't just gonna disappear over the summer. With the changes ineos are making in terms of squad upheaval, employing new technical directors, investing in a new stadium and infrastructure, redeveloping carrington, potentially appointing a new manager, it's still gonna take a couple of seasons before the team to be assembled never mind consistently achieving success
