The most important question to ask is this: Do you trust that Erik ten Hag is the right man and have belief that next season it'll work if we have a strong summer and with less injuries in a better working environment? These are the 2 thoughts that will be driving INEOS' decisions.

Not anymore. This is the charge of the light brigade again and again. A manager's goal should be to get points; style and tactics is a method to do that. But for him the points are secondary, style number one. Our players are good people, simple people, morons (not really). Either they're being told to do something they can't handle doing or they're not being told what to do and just run around. A good coach should be able to McGyver something to get something out of the players he's got; it shouldn't all be about the players he hasn't got.

Mourinho likes to blame players when results are poor. When team wins then he was mastermind of the victory.
I don't understand some coaches. When the team wins they make attribution to their tactical approach. But if teams loses then they make attribution to external factors. Such as we have to many injuries or players mistakes and decisions making. Instead maning up and say it's my fault we perform poorly today. Why do we have an academy. The reserve team is established exactly for that reason. If the first has to many injuries then u select and bring in some youth players to the first team to fill in gap. I Remember one season when Sir Alex use approximately 60 players for first team. I think Ten hag has trust issues with younger players.

So much problems cant be fixt in one year. Citys Arent build in one day or one year. You need to have patients. The manager and the team will grow in time and will have set backs. This year is one of them. We need to have more fait and dont become like the glazers or fans/ media who judge right away. Man utd will come and rule again in the premier League, but you need to have belief in that. I trust this manager and i am confident he will succeed in his and the clubs mission. I hope Jim will see that too. I think everybody is so emotional about this club and want it to succeed, they forget to be logical and patient. Support your club and stay confident till the end. @@OJStubbs1888 There is some talking about man utd and ETH but not much, and most of them are media and former footbalplayers. They are worried that ETH is not gonna make it because of the results. But there a lot of people who are behind Erik because of his philosophy, work rate and what he did by is former clubs. Ajax would love to get him back, but other club will also love to take him. In Holland we see man utd struggling but the media is only talking the same way as the media in Britain. But the real fans see through that. I follow Sam quit some time. So that gives me more perspective from more sides. So thats why i see there is a lot of emotions by man utd fans, older former players. The media wants this to happen, this gives them stories and another chapter for stories. A new manager will get the same treatment as ETH. Man utd knows that road. So it will repeat. Let ETH do his job and go get better next Season. And lets hope for new young players, and some good signings.

I guess I can see both sides of the argument. If you sack him now, regardless who's managing the team, even if it's another caretaker until the end of the season, like Rooney, they can get a head start on finding the replacement before the end of the season, and they also may actually have a chance at winning the FA Cup. If they let him stay through the end, if they are somehow able to win the FA Cup, they (Ratcliffe, etc.) may be able to actually back their manager in their first window together, get rid of half of the squad that is not the future, and bring in the right players during the summer, REGARDLESS who the manager is (i.e. the new direction going forward is that the players will be brought in in relation to how the technical director wants the team to play, NOT any single manager, which is why ETH has had to deal with old players from 4 different past managers). I, for one, am in the latter camp, as I think that they need to bring in a slew of new players and get that part right before they judge the manager.

A fully fit squad will still lose to Crystal Palace. The injury crisis is just more excuses to deflect from all the other fundamentals of basic football.
The team doesn't run, doesn't press, can control ball possession, can't keep the ball possession, give too many spaces for opponents to attack, can't give 10 passes without losing possession. No clear style or tactics!
Lisandro, Shaw, Malacia and Varane plus Rashford & Martial will still not bring any recognizable style or identity to ManUtd as a team.

This season even when we've been close to full strength we have seen the same problems, every team even the weakest just run right through us. When EtH had a fully fit back four of Dalot, Shaw, Varane and Martinez they were one of, if not the most defensively solid units in the PL. Just one member of that back four is currently fit to play. In my view, our recent results are a condemnation of the quality of our squad outside of the 1st XI and the capability of our medical team to keep our best players on the pitch and, if injured, return them to fitness without relapsing.
Fans demanding 'ten Hag out' in my view are misguided, entitled and must have short memories indeed. Last year he got that team of misfits to overperform beyond expectations by getting us to 3rd and won us a cup. What's changed? Fundamentally, behind the scenes drama and injuries. The players cannot be allowed to down tools and blame the manager for a poor run of results again - if they don't like it at Man Utd, then put in a transfer request.

How do you compress the space between attack and defense (a high press) when your CBs are slow and not good on the ball? That's why I believe there is a gap between the backline and attack, because Ten Hag knows he has to let his CBs drop off, and the 3 midfielders struggle to close the gaps, particularly when the ball is lost in the opposition territory. And Rashford as a winger also doesn't track back enough.
Ten Hag simply doesn't have the players to play counter pressing football within tight spaces. I believe even Pep, Klopp, Tuchel, Ancelotti couldn't get these players to play that way.
So if there is to be genuine transition at the club, so many players need to be sold and bought. They are the main problem.
Whether Ten Hag is the right man, I can't say. But if Ineos thinks that he is not, they will damn sure have to get a coach with a playing philosophy that must be implemented and pursued beyond the new coaches tenure. It cannot change with every new coach.

And after ~2 years with a manager everything should be second nature to you, even if you are in a different position you should know where other players are supposed to be and what your job is.
But United have struggled against lower-table aggressive teams for years now, and unless they can play quick one-touch football they are lost. I think even back in the Ole era this is why we could beat teams like City and Barcelona, but then fail against teams like Burnley and Palace when they play aggressively, the United players just kind of panic, and make a stupid pass and give the ball away... Fred was a perfect example of this.
And it's always worse when the ref is too lenient with the opposition, and a few decisions go against us, then it's like the whole team turn into a bunch of introverted statues. But, this is where a good manager has to step in and motivate the players, get them out of their own heads, and playing football again.

I think Ten Hag biggest problem was joining Manchester United, thinking he would do it better than all other coaches. I think Arne Slot made a better choice, just because of the possibilities he has at that club compared to United. I feel like most Man united support just live in the past, they are not the club anymore they were before. It will not be a easy task for any coach to make Man united a Top club again that will be playing for the title each year. If you want to compete, buy the best players, the most complete players that will fit the system.
I also dont know why that is so hard for Man united to do so, i mean they have enough money to spend. But maybe it's time to lower the expectations first, for each season and for each coach that will join.

My issue is that he has lost the locker room and in doing so, the players just won't play for him. He has no respect from the players and that is a problem. So what to do. What do you do with a locker room that has no respect for the coach and a coach who cannot get his players to buy into his vision? Honestly, I would say strictly from a financial standpoint, keep ETH for the remainder of his contract and sweep out the majority of the players, especially the older ones and the ones who are making a king's ransom in salary while not producing what that salary demands. That is easier said than done. The easier way out is to do what we have done for the last decade - sack the coach and bring in someone else. Look where that has gotten us. Exactly where we are. Personally, I would scrap the majority of the players. They are making a ton of money and just not producing results. And their effort is atrocious, certainly not becoming of players making what they are making. Even if you don't agree with the coach, you as a player, do what you're told to do. As a boss in my field, I tell my subordinates, "if you do what I tell you to do and it goes sideways, then it falls on me. If not, then it falls on you." These players are acting like spoiled brats who haven't been smacked in the proverbial mouth. Time for them to go. And once again, like I have repeatedly stated - GO WITH YOUTH!!! If we are going to lose like this, at least let the young ones do it and get experience!!

We saw a little bit of good football a few games this season when we had Martinez and Shaw in the squad. Hojlund was banging goals. Garnacho and Rashford were excellent. I believe having players who can play the way he wants and with the right mentality ETH will do well. This people who keep on moaning that these are his signings..... he wanted Kane he got Hojlund, wanted De Jong was given Casemiro Wanted Kim Min Jae was given Evans...Dont also forget he wanted Gravenberg and we got Amrabat instead...

  • @theonceandfuturething3999

If Ten Hag is a good motivator, odds are I would have seen at least one MU player running all out during the 12 minute highlight clip of the CP game. I didn't see that. What I saw was CP ball-carriers outrunning defenders, over and over. As to the "injury" issue, if you don't have the defenders to play a high line, leaving that massive gap in the midfield is madness.
It's very popular to blame the players, but surely some of that is on TH?

2022 erik managed utd , won carling cup. Erik is a good coach I trust on him it's the players that letting us down sacking erik n bringing new coach want help utd the same scenario will repeat, fans wants instant result that is not possible. What Erik needs is the time n good players he wanted kim min Jae but couldn't, even klopp took time to manage liverpool and of course pep the best coach couldn't even won the silverware under his first management n sold 11 or 12 players. It is the players fault not Erik's, injury has been the main problem otherwise result would have been different but still erik somehow managed to reach the fa cup final even best coach like pep would have struggle to manage these utd players. I have followed your channel since Erik Ten Hag came to United (I'm an Ajax fan). I can see you are starting to get more angry and desperate with the way things are going. (Which is understandable)
Please watch some videos from yourself back when Erik just started at United. Take that positivity and try to back him up and blame the players for their lack of personality. It would be such a bad decision to fire Erik ten Hag.
If I see the team you currently have, next to all the injuries, the transfers windows of the last years have been horrible. Where Ajax has the problem that all players are always sold and you have to hope that new players will fit in well, United has so many players that haven't left after many years of poor performances. This United has a skill and a mentality issue, get rid of as much players as possible and keep the base with Onana - Martinez - Casimero - Garnacho. And build a team around it. Let Ten Hag cook.
Please trust the process and back Ten Hag. You will regret it if you let him go.

Same thing happened under Arteta at arsenal players down tooling. Arsenal stood firm and never Sacked Arteta though they finished 8th, 8th, 5th three season straight. Which send out message to the players ain't going anywhere, but the down tools and trouble makers are leaving. By keeping Arteta they were easily able to rectify Rotten apples in dressing room and binned them all. This Crystal Palace tean which defeated full strength Liverpool side 1-0 st anfield and you put them against Casemiro-Evans CB partnership with Erickson in Midfield it'll get overrunned, what options did Ten Hag had. I'll rather give Ten Hag one more season with Ashworth and Wilcox helping him than start rebuilding again when there's not a suitable candidate available out there. Tuchel a big No for me. He doesn't stick at any club for more than 2 seasons. We're long term fix like Liverpool under Klopp and Arsenal under Arteta. 4-5 year's fix. Tuchel is like picking Jose for long term success.
Ten Hag in all the way for me. Arsenal fans were selling Arteta out T-shirts in his second season, glad Kroenke didn't listened to Arsenal fans.
