Thanks Joe, I covered this too in a forthcoming vlog! Actually the walk down back to Funchal from where the toboggan ended was very pleasant & took about half an hour. There's quite a bit to see so I took it all in & enjoyed the calorie burn!

Cheers Paul, it is fun, but I would have liked a bit more speed. I guess they need to be safe over anything else haha. The go-karting track is preferable haha.
I’ve seen a few videos now of the toboggan rides, but yours was the best. It’s best because your filming angles, or whatever magic you do, made me feel like I was in the basket with you. Very through, showing how to get there, the costs, how to get down again. Thanks, you’ve saved me some € because I feel I’ve done the ride myself!
Haha thank you! It’s all about the angles! I had to make it seem more exciting than it was somehow! I expected a faster, near death experience but sadly not haha! I need to get back to Madeira and film more videos now I’ve learned the trade a little more

@@xjallows5388 haha I think maybe if there is no traffic and you have a wild guide, you might get lucky. Yes, I remember clearly. Things are all good now thankfully - I moved on from that situation. So much so, I am moving back to Madeira to start my own life there in the summer.

Yes, I was expecting a Mario Karts experience when we went - overtaking cars and other baskets! The queues were very long in February 2023 for both the cable car and this attraction.

firstly, Madeira does not have a tipping culture. Secondly, not everything is put into the edited video :) but like I said, no expectation to tip at all in Madeira at 98% of places, only higher end restaurants.
Do you tip the guys after you get off the basket?
Ah I did not. I didn’t see anyone doing it. Tipping in Madeira isn’t really a thing.
Americans tip them. I know everyone in our group tipped and they seemed to expect it from us.
My knees feel sick watching these men control those baskets.
