      I would say the decision on kelleher to disallow lowes try was wrong. The legs came back as a direct result of the neck roll and counter ruck driving his legs back. That being said. Our unforced errors were what lost us the game. You should never leave it to the TMO/ref

    • @Dreyno
      @Dreyno Před 5 dny +8

      I have a complaint. Kelleher was illegally cleared out and a late arrival at the ruck led directly to his leg knocking the ball backwards. I’ve never seen anything like that before called back. It was outrageous.

      @Dreyno fair point. Ireland was unlucky to have that try chalked off, but it always felt as if the boks would have had enough to close the game out in my view, we would never know unfortunately. Ireland certainly has enough firepower to make it 1-1 in Durban, but they are a bit battered now with injuries, so will be an uphill battle.

    I thought Siya had an outstanding game

    • @louisvanniekerk2612
      @louisvanniekerk2612 Před 6 dny +3

      Siya was carrying the ball very well, which normally is not his greatest asset, but he never plays towards the ball as a 6, which is a cardinal sin. Marx and Van Staden made a difference at the breakdown because both plays toward the ball, which their opposite numbers don't. Further, both are better defenders than Kolisi and Bongi. Further, in the tighter situation, they carry with much more power. I think Steenkamp played really well when he came on. Kolbe was excellent, De Allende, Kriel, and Willie were the other players who played well. I think Faf cleared the ball well under pressure , pressure created due to the forwards not protecting the scrumhalf. Porter scrumming illegally and not punished by the ref is a concern. Wilco Louw demolished Porter irrespective of his illegal tactics by binding incorrectly thereafter withdrawing from the contact, and consequently, Malherbe over extends then attempts to correct his position to avoid a penalty Porter amounts pressure. The last scrum Malherbe got the better of Porter but was penalized for what? Against Koch Porter could not take the hit, but Koch was penalized for extending.

      @@louisvanniekerk2612I can't tell you how many times that Siyas role in the team is not steal ball, even though being a 6. His primary roles are his dominant tackles, and securing attacking ball. It's an absolute lie that you say Kolisi doesn't carry well, his nickname is "cement truck without a reverse gear". Just say you don't rate him enough to actually know what he does and watch him. Then I'll understand.

    With Regards To The TMO Interventions:
    Whenever a Try has been scored generally TMO'S do come in to check for a possible knock-on or for potential foul-play or for committing infringements in the lead-up to a Try.
    We see it happening week in, week out in the Champions Cup and in the URC.
    With Regards To The TMO Interventions in this game between South Africa and Ireland:
    For me the narrative that the Ref and TMO was "more in favor of South Africa than Ireland" is driven on Emotion and the End Result.
    Because if the TMO Interventions were "more in favor of Ireland" this exact same narrative would have been switched over to the other side.
    Professional Sport is a Results Driven Business.

    South Africa are developing and expanding their game, still experimenting and were the better side. Fair play, they deserved the win. Ireland were a bit off the pace, especially in the first half.
    However, I have to say, the TMO interventions were unreal! In particular, the intervention to overturn Lowe's try was shocking. Kelleher was seriously neck rolled but despite all the scrutiny on that ruck, why was this not dealt with? SA got the penalty. Incredible.
    Also, if the TMO is going to scrutinise a ruck like that to find an infringement, why did he not ping Siya Kolisi when he played the ball back on the ground when he was lying on top of Doris? That play resulted in a penalty to SA? totally inconsistent.
    The TMO interventions had a one sided feel about them.

    Thanks, someone finally coming with an unbiased view. How can Irish media say their players are tired from a long season, they literally play in the same domestic league as the Bok players. I think it shows that the Irish are relieved it was not a big pumping and just 7 points. But we cannot deny that Ireland showed resilience 2nd half but they couldn’t attack and play the way we have seen in the past because of the Bok pressure. Matter of fact Boks seem to be the only team that consistently pressures Ireland to a point where they do not flow in their attack

    Ireland may well be tired but SA has not played since the WC and the core of the team is from Japan where they stopped playing some tine ago. Others, like Etzebeth, played all the club games the Irish played.
    So let's leave the "we wuz tired" and "we didn't play a long time" BS.
    The Irish code has been cracked in the club games already. It rests on forward domination (with done shi*housery in the rucks) and repeated phased and then wide. It gets contained by by good and aggressive defence. And at the forwards SA was probably better in the set pieces (that last heavy metal scrum). Ireland left points on the field, SA as well.
    On the day SA was ( marginally perhaps but clearly) the best team and they scored the most points. So they won.
