    2:16 From my experience with Thermal Grizzly pastes are not suitable for laptops with high TGP, TDP where the temperature is close to 80°C for a longer period of time. After 8 months, its thermally conductive properties deteriorate significantly.
    You should try using phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer and performs in my experience works better than traditional pastes. On the power section, vrams give thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro. It is also good do undervolting on CPU and GPU at -100mV or more if it will be stable. It will be more fps, quieter, cooler and less power will be drawn.

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Před rokem +6

      Thank you for your valuable feedback. I want to express my agreement with your points while also sharing my extensive 17-year experience in testing and servicing laptops and electronics.
      Throughout my career, I have observed that whether you use Thermal Grizzly paste or non-expiring pads, dust and air buildup are inevitable over time. Therefore, it becomes essential to open the laptop and perform cleaning and servicing at least once every two years to maintain optimal performance.
      In my testing, I have personally used both Thermal Grizzly paste and the Thermal Grizzly graphite pad (known for its long-lasting properties). After a continuous three-year period, both products yielded similar results to what they provided on the first day of application. However, due to the accumulation of dust, the temperatures for both increased, with the paste being approximately +3°C warmer than the graphite pad.
      Despite the three-year daily usage of 8 hours side by side, the thermal paste's temperature only rose by +4-5°C compared to the graphite pad. The significant dust buildup and the laptops reaching temperatures of 85°C and above made it imperative to perform a service on both devices.
      I understand that data sheets for thermal materials may indicate specific performance attributes, but real-life testing over a continuous three-year period provides invaluable insights. To gain accurate results, I encourage others to conduct tests using the same model laptops, under identical conditions, and with similar loads.
      While I would typically agree with conclusions drawn solely from data sheets, my practical experience with clients ranging from school teachers to graphical designers, and gamers, has shown minimal differences in performance among various paste models, makes, and types from top brands. The graphite pad stands out as a recommended option due to its reusability and its ability to retain its properties under heat.
      To further explore the thermal performance of products like PTM7950 or liquid metal, I intend to subject them to thorough testing and assess their long-term results. Ultimately, I'm confident that PTM7950 will deliver outstanding performance over time.
      In conclusion, I believe that combining data sheets with real-life testing is the most comprehensive approach to making informed decisions about thermal solutions for laptops. Thank you again for your feedback cheers🍻

      @@uFixTek hello sir, I have Nitro5 AN515-45 R7 5800H + 3050Ti. I repasted it using GELID GC4 recently. it works well for a week but then it starts hitting very high temperatures again.
      Just after repasting its able to maintain 65W at around 90C, but a week later it couldn't even do 54W. and same for GPU, temps rose from 68C to 79C after 2 weeks.
      Can you recommend a paste which actually worked well for your Nitro5 for long durations?

    • @uFixTek

      i recommend you to place : thermal grizzly kryonaut extreme which has a Thermal Conductivity 12.5 W/mK, compare to GELID that only has a Thermal Conductivity of 8.5 W/mK.
      but if you want the best of best use a Liquid metal (extremely conductive) you will need to use tape around the GPU/CPU dye.
      and that has a Thermal Conductivity of 73 W/mK

      we apply LM on laptops and after 5 years reopening to service the copper it is in perfect shape and a bit of copper cleaner and polish you can re service. my personal laptop have LM for years and i serviced it recently after 4years and no problem.
      kryonaut it will dry but not in a year it will in a two years and by then you will be doing service, by by then you have enjoyed the good thermals, but if you feel fit by usign other brands try them out and see which results the best for you.

    hi, I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57-55XN laptop and I want to replace the pink thermal pad, what size should I replace the thermal pad, is it 1.0 mm? or 1.5mm

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Regarding your question, if you had watched the video right @8:00 min i have pointed and said that those are NOT thermal pads, as they are thermal putty.
      if you place a thermal pad there a 1mm it will counter push the heatsink away from the gpu and cpu and the results will be catastrophic temps.
      and if you place a .5mm then it will not cool down the vram and the components. the reason that they used the thermal putty if because of the distance of the rams are not even like .5 or 1mm.
      i recommend you to get a good brand thermal putty like:
      amzn.to/4apNySp
      or get a cheap putty from aliexpress.

      Regarding your question, absolutely not recommend you, because the gap is not .5mm nor 1mm, so that is why you need to use the putty, if you use the thermal pad, it will push the heatsink away from the GPU and CPU, resulting in poor performance and high temps.
      Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

    • @uFixTek

      just apply fair amount and the heatsink will squeeze the execs out from sides, it is not conductive and just place fair amount.

    There is no thermal putty in my city and i cannot order from amazon or any other website like aliexpress. Can I use the girzzly thermal pads of 0.5mm or 1mm on the VRMs, If so what thickness do you reccomend 0.5mm or 1mm.

      Regarding your question, the reason that they use the Putty is because the gap is not even number.
      i highly recommend you try to get it from a laptop repair shop some putty.
      because if you put a thick pad it will counter push the heatsink aways from cpu and it will result in a very bad temps.
      note, you could buy a .5mm pads and stack them to fill the gap. thermal pads are stackable without any issues.
      the gap is somewhere .67mm if you need to know.
