The best Transformers sequel ever. Don't know why people didn't like it.
On IMDB it has an average of 8.1/10 so time has treated it well.
Because people don’t change and will always be negative first when something they know and like is changed. But this show proved that people should not judge a book by its cover at first.
It was a different time when this released. Season long storylines were a bit of a rarity. The reason was that the episodes were spanned between 1 to 3 weeks per new episode. The time could vary (could be 8:30 one day to 10:30 the next new episode). If you missed an episode then you were out of the loop if you can remember the last episode for a kid. Characters would change for the episodes. You could have megatron a dino one day, a dragon the next. Optimus an ape one day, a skyscraper the next. Spiderlady was a bad guy one day, good guy the next. It was tough to keep track because of the long wait times between episodes. Plus the reruns did not go in any order. The reason why people didn't like it was because people could not keep track of the story to fully appreciate it. Thank goodness for streaming sites today. Also, adults were very much closed minded back then and didn't take cgi shows seriously.

I remember watching this show, mainly cause I loved the Predacons who were dinosaurs and insects, something I loved back in my childhood.
Yes, the acting was top notch. Ratsnap deserved a Emmy.

Beast Wars was actually animated and voiced in Canada, not the United States. Forward and Ditillo were American, but the majority of the team was based in Vancouver, Canada.
I always connected to beast wars better. I thought animals were cooler than fire trucks. Still do. I used to pretend to be waspinator when speaking into spinning fans 😂
Reboot was CGI and premiered in 1994, 2 years before Beast Wars
Series is made by mainframe entertainment /rainmaker, and their previous series, Reboot, was the first completely digital show.

This show is a big part of my childhood in the 90s being that I was born in 1986 I do not remember the '80s but the '90s was my childhood and beast wars was interesting because it was computer generated and I thought it was cool because I was a big fan of the show reboot and reboot was even kind of mind-blowing at the time graphic wise.
Beast wars ruled!! I'll never forget getting home from middle school and camping out on the tv. Dinobot was my fav when he turn maximal

Started out as an okay show then it ended awesomely. The connection to G1 is what made it so awesome.
Such a classic series. My dad and I bonded over this show when I was a kid. Every new story arc was basically an event for us and we'd go out and try to find the newest action figures after a new character was revealed. Miss those days man lol.
I remember this show as a kid. Felt like i kept watching the same reruns over and over then one day they just finished it off lol. It was up there with Roughnecks in terms of memorable child shows.

My childhood. Miss waking up Saturday at 6am waiting for bananas in pajamas to come off then Beast Wars would be next. I Used to get excited when going to the store. I would run to the toy Isle immediately seeing if they got new figures in stock. My 1st encounter of beast wars was when I found the comic book? With croc Megatron and bat Optimus. My first ever figure was dinobot for my birthday.
Yeah same here. Lazy Saturday mornings binge watching cartoons was great. I remember when the Transmetals came out and I really wanted Rat trap but my mother wouldn't get me it. I cried all the way home lol. I was like 6 at the time

@@kayjellyjay I don’t have mine anymore just memories 😭 during Christmas while looking for gifts they were actually selling beast wars figures at walmart. Same packaging and everything! I was a kid again for 10 seconds lol it was pretty cool to see again.

I can swear "Reboot" came our before "Beast Wars" and it was computer generated. 1994 was before 1999, IF my calculations are correct.
Beast wars came out around the same time in 1994ish, I remember because I was born in 93 snd remember both playing back to back all the time as a wee toddler on YTV in Canada (where both series first aired)
ReBoot did come first. It was made by the same animators.
Waspinator was the same size as the other wasps the bugs were interpreted as huge back in prehistoric times Cheetor identified him by his scent being cybertronian.

This is my favorite Transformers series. I like it even more than the original series. Glad I recently bought the series on DVD.
And yes, it seemed to be more serious, sometimes. Unless you count the episode where Rhinox farted so hard that he defeated all the Predacons.

Good video but one correction, Beastwars was not the first computer generated show Reboot premiered 2 years earlier in 1994 Beastwars was 1996. Both shows were amazing and a massive part of my childhood.

This was one of the best parts of my week and, in fact, my childhood in general. Dinobot was a legit role model for me growing up, on par with the likes of Piccolo and Leonardo.

Best transformers series. Beast Machines was great regardless of the less than desirable robot modes. The beast mode designs in machines nailed it. The story was pretty dark.
I'm a G1er and its my main focus in Transformers, but BW and BM are the best shows Transformers have ever created. I have collected the BW toys since 2019, and have started on MP now as it's just such an amazing show and brilliant characters. I watch through BW and BM quite regularly now.

This series was not the first cgi series, the series ReBoot was which first aired 2 years prior to this.

Love the narration but I do belive you may want to correct yourself when you made the statement that that maximals are the ancestors of the autobots when you meant decedent just like their predacon counterparts.

I love beast wars it’s practically my childhood.
I so enjoyed this series and it followups as it ran. Was also so happy when many,many years later in a made for web series they showed optimus primal still alive after million of years. becoming a guardian of sorts..while unsure where the Movie version of beast wars coming out in a few years story wise. Here is a heart felt hope they keep some of the soul of it origins.

The follow up series to transformers beast wars was beast machines that really set up the next generation of the transformers Civil war.
dinobot instilled a sense of honor in me. please do a video on dinobot and honour him.
I used to think this series was a sequel to the original series, but after rewatching it, one thing makes it non canon. Now please don't attack me for saying this. Season 3 made it non canon with how Mainframe Entertainment and the writers treated the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, the Matrix isn't supposed to hold a Spark, it's supposed to hold the power of Primus and all the accumulated wisdom of all the Autobot leaders that was bestowed the mantle of leadership, that one small change made the series non canon. Also, Beast Wars Megatron proved he was an idiot with his plan to kill Optimus Prime and change history, he would have erased the Predacons too, see if the Decepticons reigned supreme they never would have gone through with that "Great Upgrade" where cybertronians were downsized to be more energy efficient, because they would never give up their large sizes, and the original Megatron would never give up his power. The only Predacons that would exist would be the original Decepticon sub group that unite into Predaking. Now the Beast Wars series was a great show regardless.

My absolute favorite tf series. I'd recommend y'all cover The Universe War. Basically a multiversal Transformers comic set after Beast Machines where various Transformers from across the multiverse must team up to stop Unicron from destroying The Multiverse.
you can see that the creators liked dragon ball very much and their favorite character was piccolo, and the Dinobot confirms it, as well as that Optimus Prime is inspired by captain Picard from star trek.
Really how Beast Wars was weird and original and not just be another major G1 rehash like nowadays.

What should be pointed out is that the Predacons were looking for Earth, because Megatron stole the golden disc, which is an ancient Cybertron relic, which is the same Golden Disc that is on The Voyager probe that was launched into space in 1977. Crazy.
It funny that Beast Wars predicted the lipped T Rex decades before that was a discussion, if this cartoon was rebooted without the changes in the dialogue but the models, Dinobot would be more different, he would have feathers, even unable to fly short distances.

It wasn't the first CGI animated cartoon, Reboot was. Transformers wanted to capitalize on the same success that Reboot experienced and the void that it left when it was pulled from the US.
