They really need to bring that 80s dark fantasy aesthetic back.
its not the aesthetic its just all location were real in the 80s
Dorime.
I am contemplating on making an actual Dark Souls inspired story inspired entirely on 80s fantasy films
@@Czajik 24:18 you can't say this isn't 80s aesthetic
We’re there actually any movies that looked like this?
if they ever make a souls adaptation I'd have no problem if they made it this way
So long as Netflix or Amazon doesn't get a hold of it.
They won't lol. Too woke to make something this good.
@@billywashere6965 if they've made dark souls movie, it would be the best and the worst news and the same time
@@myrside7925 To be fair, If amazon or Netflix did do it. It would be fitting to the Soul Series as it would be really hard to finish the movie.
@@Eddie_of_the_A_Is_A_Gang Funny how being incompetent or lazy really overlaps a lot with difficulty.
3:56 looks like dark souls III after you defeat the dancer of the boreal valley, climb up the ladder and take the right at the alter with the red knight, up THOSE stairs and straight into a bonfire room (which is an excellent xp farm spot)
I'm so glad dark fantasy is coming back
@@thecultofcaged I don't think it's been so big... Dragon Age stopped it, TV has stopped doing it right... We have a few games here and there...
@@camraid9 in Japan it never left , half their anime are about being trapped in a magic medieval universe where everyhting goes to hell and the hero has to resort to moral choices
@Ram caiD The Hobbit movies almost ruined it. But Lord of The Rings is the best we have since these old movies. Called Brotherhood Of the Wolf.
Imagine new movie titles being “Darksouls but it’s from the 80’s”, and then you go with your friends listening to Michael Jackson on your Walkman
9:39 - Aside from being one of the most important NPCs in the game how did you see a giant-ass turtle chilling peacefully alone and sporting a big-ass crown then decide _NOT_ to talk to it?
The Kings Field music fits so well
A dark souls movie, but it's like if evil dead and krull had a head-on collision, but Conan the barbarian was the only witness
gogogogogo.
I thought I was the only one finding these things, I'm glad Asmond found them. Now more people will see the sheer stunning quality of these images.
THIS IS AI??? 😳 I'm amazed by how authentic it looks! The art style and even media tech is so accurate!
Colors, lighting, how light bounces off objects or material, character designs, clothing, set/location designs, and even frame depth of focus and objects placement in a frame... Just WILD! 💥
True
@@kommissarrex1193 is not AI
@@SagaraUrz yes it is, look at how many fingers he has at 03:21 only AI do that.
@@Cryptowavetradingfrance damn good catch
@@Cryptowavetradingfrance also, the actual creator of the vid specifies it is made with AI. Always check source 😉
funny thing is in 80s they will have all props, costumes, masks handmade and looks exactly like this AI.. one would love to see all janky animatronics and early gci again, not like 95% filmed on greenscreen like now
@Jay man, the evil dead films, John carpenters the thing, films like total recall, terminator and the original star wars trilogy, most* cult classic slasher films, the practical effects, the costumes, masks and animatronics were insane, I'd love to see more modern movies have disgusting looking practical monsters and injuries, these ai generated images just bring back all these memories of badass films from my childhood.
Edit* even Peter Jackson's lord of the rings in the early 2000's makeup, costumes, prosthetics, animatronics and miniatures everywhere, and look how fucking epic that was.
@@TizzmantineUK star wars use the oil painting background s and miniatures to make the great scenes and look soo good. the first Jurasic park movires where made with practical efects too with actual animatronic dinosaurs that were puppeted manually
I love how his just watching all of them, been watching a bunch of these the past week and its great to see Asmon now getting into them.
Honestly the Caelid ones are amazing. Imagine a movie featuring Caelid with the aesthetic of the never ending story.
The guy who did this was on Midjourney. Great AI. I saw him generating art for this and thought it was sick. Didn't notice he made a video.
I guess the next one is going to be a 80's Conan Style Dark Souls
00:45 FOR LORDAERON !!!
Imagine if Hollywood put some effort in and tried to make original movies again
Too much work they make enough shoveling out slop to the braindead masses to ever do that
@@17th_Colossus maybe if that’s what you think is the issue with Hollywood you’re too busy being a homophobe
Imagine if Hollywood and the world wasn’t set on making profit… take the economics out and yeah.
I find it so fascinating how AI can do such amazing things and still struggle so much with hands. Almost every picture has fucked hands that are either a complete mess or have too many or too few fingers.
Teeth and fingers, the arch nemesis of AI
To be fair most ai art is a Mashup and reinterpretation of actual human made art and as most artists can tell you hands are the bane of existence.
Souls is so beautiful when you put it into perspective.
I think some pictures he said wasn't accurate to Malenia was actually supposed to be Queen Marika, maybe I'm wrong idk
As someone that grew up in the 80s an Elden Ring 80s Fantasy movie would be awesome.
Grew up in the 90s, this makes my autism go crazy i get so hyped
0:36 is just absolutely incredibly done.. I cannot believe it its resplendent armored knight
"how many of these could be the cover of a Castlevania Super Nintendo game".., so true!..
... and full circle back to some of the roots of dark fantasy Rogue-like games (NES Castlevania & Zelda II, as Super NES Castlevania had "Dark Souls-like feelings back then, gameplay- & atmosphere-wise)
i like that they use the "zullie the witch" theme... well king's field theme, dark reality, but nonetheless very appropriate and amazing
Never realized how terrifying the things in from software games would be in real life.
This looks so insanely much better than what were getting today
24:53 Holy shit this one is good. Reminds me of the Bloody Crow.
There needs to be a dark high fantasy movie in the 80’s style.
Damnit I wished he would watch “more dark souls as an 80s film.” That’s my favorite of all these videos.
Theres a clip of him watching it. That was the first one he saw
@@uthergoodman401 aw damn I can’t find it but yeah he watched a little bit. Damn.
In 20 years people will watch custom movies. And they are uniquely created for them. Some movies only one person will see ever. Videostream services will create custom movies, animes, games and entire series for their viewers based on their likes. Thats the future!
I feel like this is true. You should check out AI voice acting which is currently just being used as a tool for editors and developers but I feel they one day we might have movies that get developed within a couple hours with just a few words to describe them
I think that computer games will also be available to be ordered individually for each person.
Bro, as soon as the Caelid images appeared I could feel the Scarlet Rot start to fuck up my healthbar.
I really wanna see someone make a fanmade movie of a soulsborne game in this movie aesthetic
I wish artists still painted like they did in the 80s and 90s
Nowadays 80 to 90% of what you find is anime smut that all looks the same
that metal reference was perfect
I need these. All of them. As series/movies. Now, so I can binge them and rewatch them every week/month.
I love these they feel like they’re interpretations of our own world but still like in a different world at the same time
Some arts looks so much as MTG cards. It's awesome
Its like Vampire Hunter D and Castlevania Medieval Theme artworks looks majestic and creepy. Love this kind of artwork or AI generated.
*_What is that "filter", is it "8mm film"? Is it "Polaroid"? It also looks a lot like Matte Paintings and of course "Magic Hour"; when the sun sets._*
I need to see an 80' dark fantasy series
Series of this kind didn't really exist at the time sadly. Not like they can exist now at least. Creators were denied budgets for this kind of shows because nobody would watch them at the time. its sad but true. Very few managed to exist and even then they were heavily censored by producers and investors never let them do what they want resulting in very mediocre to bad results.
I believe, someday, when bad director/actor/script writer telling you "Make it better by yourself!" answering your critics, you could just make AI movie and make it better by yourself literally.
Literal " Fine, I'll do myself moment." An era of fan made Ai enhanced series and films with this or any other aesthetic we could imagine.
Great video man, it's incredible what AI can achieve now, imagine in 20 years
0:57 caseoh spotting
ai movies would be crazy. Imagine just trying in what you want to watch and it’s always something new
This is usually where I would say that's years away but honestly the way tech is moving they could literally be on the cusp of making this in a month.
Sure, a movie where they can never show hands, chest, and nuanced expressions.
@@nujevad28 give it some time. AI will figure everything out
The idea of whether or not AI art proves modern artistic mediocrity is an interesting topic of conversation.
2:49 Havel
I am just waiting for Dio to start singing.
the background/scenery shots look like ralph bakshi or jim henson backgrounds with a tinge of flash gordon
9:34
-Mr. Pokeylope's- His highness' Pokeylope grand entrance!
Ok now I really do need to see the AI get to work on a rendered playthrough...God damn some of that armour 😧
I want a dark souls movie and I want it now!
2:46 even though it's the AI's fault, the way his eye phases through the hat is interesting. Like if this was a real character and part of his magic was that none of his clothes or his own hand going over his eye would stop it from being "translucently phasing" through material. Might not look as cool as I imagine, but in this picture it looks cool.
1:26 I need to cosplay that.
Edit: Didn’t even finish the video before I commented. There’s so much good sht.
What it really excels at is the matte paintings. I could see someone with costume experience using ai technology to make something like a cheap 80s dark fantasy movie.
I think this would be better as a TV show. Trying to get every design inside of a 2 hour movie would pretty much be impossible.
I can barely fathom the kinds of man-hours it would take to craft some of these scenes by hand, the imagination, the craftsmanship would be one of a cultural milestone, taking weeks, maybe even a month to paint and a AI spits it out in seconds.
It's horrifically sobering just how much AI can outclass human imagination and it's only going to get more competent.
Bro, AI uses already man-made finished images mesh together, all of them stolen btw. That's why so many of them look like shit and even the good ones are using parts of finished drawings into a collage. This shit is no magic, do some reasearch
It's not outclassing human imagination though, that's the thing. It's pulling from other images and meshing them together, and the guy making the AI generate these has to add a bunch of keywords and mess with settings to get a desired result. There's still the element of human imagination, it's just using an AI to make it instead of any normal methods of creation.
@@Hyde_Lawrence Yeah, at first I was ignorant about AI art, but after reading into it a bit; it's going to take some artists taking the developers to court in a class action lawsuit and potentially some new laws banning developers from scanning the internet and effectively stealing data to build their products.
@@Veytherlin LMAO, why do you think they need to feed it with millions of images in the first place to even begin to function? jesus christ you are dumb.
@@randomman057 Exactly.
We truly are in the worst timeline. Our entertainment is a passionless cash grab. Some alternate universe is actually getting these as movies in a pursuit of art and creativity.
If anyone was to do a live action adaption of a souls game they need to make it like this
I just started my elden ring game plus after probably 8 months. I forgot how ridiculous this game was. Definitely my favorite of all time.
This might sound like a dumb question but is there any actual videos of the 80s dark fantasy AI or is it just pictures at this point
This is just perfect concept art.
I'd gladly watch a new show larping as a 80s/90s show.
I so wish he would watch the Horus Heresy trailer.
We need this movie with the old school effects! With a touch of modern effects omggggg!!!
Somehow the colors and the mood in the pictures remind me of the movie Excalibur
After reacting to several videos on AI art and being positive on it's future, you have to watch Sam Does Art's video on AI art because it truly explains why AI art is not the same as "photography beating landscape artist"
His video is completely biased, he doesn't understand the technology behind AI art at all
There's a Bloodborne movie, is called the pact of the wolves
13:08 reminds me of album covers drawn by Kristian Wåhlin
It's mostly in the lighting. We need better lighting in movies!
The AI art legit looks better than the new GoT era fantasy shit in Witcher Blood Origins, Willow and Rings of Power.
If there was any other show I forgot to mention then it's sheer proof how forgettable they are
This is why I'm pro AI, we finally have a way of bringing our imagination and ideas to life without being a talented artist
That’s the issue as well, talented artists have the risk of being replaced, imagine all your hard work and effort thrown out the window because of some machine. I do think these dark souls illustration are interesting but these ai art programs might replace the human touch of artistic integrity of future projects and entertainment
@@BUNNYHOP767 Thats with any job, you adapt or die
you cant use this commercially... remember this is based on original art.
ai is a cool toy, but no one is seriously gonna replace professional artists for an ai that spits random images.
i dont think even concept artists will be affected by this.
These are all the things that reside in my soul
I'd like to know what engine/app/program/website this is made in, and what's fed into it to create these images
Hardly any of these were recognisable or made improvements to the original work. May as well have just called it some random 80s dark fantasy cause you have to squint real hard to look past the obvious errors
Hope Hollywood sees these and decides to make films shot on film, with no CGI and only makeup and extras.
If anybody reading the comments section hasn't seen Hawk The Slayer before, watch it immediately
Dude if they make a movie with this Aesthetic it will become a freaking franchise
God damn no wonder twitter "artists" are seething... art AI is godlevel and it's not even a year old
I have switched from 2nd monitor content to 1st monitor content for this one. Nice!
8 minutes after the video posted I had to generate some of these ai art is insane.
Gonna need a detailed compiled list of every single movie in this video.
3:21 bro that's a MEGA PINT 💀
At 14:30 looks like a black knife
It's very interesting to watch the AI's interpret the prompts and information given to them. Since right now AI's still don't really grasp context and nuance much.
I would watch the sh*t out of this
"none of this mechanica Artisticum would exists if not for the skill and imagination of man"- Volgar Grim - Knight Admiral - 31sr Mcraaig Naval Battalion.
The Caelid artwork is like the Still life album cover from opeth its so cool.
1:34 i'm assuming that's the iron king. if these were done with AI its possible it interpreted the words by having a demon standing on a pile of iron
Check out Brotherhood of the Wolf. A French movie that could have easily inspired the aesthetic of Bloodborne
Man I still remember the first time the saw the caelid moon
Great, now i gotta buy a VHS player and a tv to play it on all over again.
There's nothing edgy about Dark Fantasy. It's just fantasy with actual stakes.
If Ai generated these they look so 80s and realistic it's insane
I thought these were from a movie....
Yugioh monsters are pretty gnarly. Those would work well for an 80s dark fantasy.
If only the economic system allowed art to be made not just for profit or to be a marketing expense.
What song is that playing at the start? It's making me weirdly nostalgic
Zelda 1 on NES would be neat to see as an 80s dark fantasy live action film.
the girl in red hood must be Rodrika, and ohhh boi she is so adorable just like ingame
*Whoever's reading this i pray that, whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you are struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day*

Thanks, seems like we're in good company.
Lol I can’t believe Asmon reacted to these, I’ve been on a binge lately with these videos and just finished a Zelda one. I wasn’t even born in the 80s yet these videos have me reminiscing of a time I didn’t exist in.
