I did
I’m glad I contacted Dan when I did. Thanks, Pat!
Paaaat, i wanna see that monthly shindiiiig
Awesome
The fact that you guys secured those deleted scenes is incredible. You shared history with us fans, and we are forever thankful.
It's not who you know...
Kids game based on a rated-R movie. Classic 90s.
You guys already started 2023 out with a banger
.... banger, after Banger, AFTER BANGER! ❕❗‼️💣💥
agreed
Superior handling of the chromaticity 😂
Wild guess: is the next game "Chuck Rock" ?
- "Chuck" is one of Charlie Brown's nicknames, by Patty IIRC
- "Rock" is a reference to Alcatraz's prison, which was known as "the Rock"
Late reply but you were right on the money
Love the use of Bobcat. Considering Nintendo casting Chris Pratt as Mario I am convinced Bobcat Goldthwait will be cast as Link in the Legend of Zelda movie.
Well excuse me, princess!
This might be your best episode yet guys! Those skits were gold! Gold I tell you! 😀
That Uzi joke and that Bobcat Goldwaith tape recorder bit were hilarious. Good stuff!
During the era when licensed games were very much a mixed bag this one was one of the better ones. Really happy to see you guys tackle this one, as usual the skits were great and had me cracking up. So many great gaming channels out there that I look forward to every upload but this channel is definitely something special.
Considering both versions of this game were made by Acclaim, that is saying quite a bit. Right up there with Stargate and T2: The Arcade Game (the latter in collaboration with Midway).
Definitely an unappreciated gem. True lies was awesome for the 16 bits
Even the Gameboy one wasn't bad
Graphics: Not much of an edge in the SNES version. Other than that, everything in both versions are their own. Tie.
Presentation: No edge in this department. Tie.
Sound: The SNES always tried to sound more like a 16-bit rendition while Genesis has its own distinctive sounds. Both in these versions sound good. Although, SNES has a little more. SNES has an edge here. Nintendo.
Gameplay: Both have everything that can be liked by anyone. Tie.
Nintendo wins with a slight edge in the sound department. Although, both are so close that you may just want to call it a tie anyway.
Chuck Rock might be then next one.
That last scene with the machine gun was so funny lol
Sometimes it just comes down to the handling of the chromiticery.
First episode of the year and the bar is set pretty high. Another great episode guys!
I've been laughing my arse off this whole video!
That Weird AL parody is absolute comedy gold!
Well done, sirs! 👍👍
Thank you!
No entiendo cómo no tienen más subscriptos.Ya hace varios años que los veo y son geniales.
El esfuerzo y la creatividad para cada video.
Francamente merecen muchísimo más reconocimiento
Gamer market is over saturated.
Agreed. These guys deserve more subs.
Je pense aussi qu'ils devraient avoir plus d'abonnés, ils mériteraient d'en avoir au minimum des centaines de milliers.
@@theplayer2319 En fait ils en ont beaucoup plus.
This is why you guys are my top 3 favorite channels to watch. You guys keep getting better!! Dan and Pat keep em coming.
Glad you enjoyed it!
23:32 "He hates these cans!" :D
RIP Deacon Cider the Third, in his memory I'm going to name more game Characters after him
For a moment I thought Pat was supposed to be dressed as James Bond on the thumbnail. But then again that's probably because I never watched the True Lies movie.
Always a great day with a new Console Wars episode! That skit with the dock worker was hilarious! Shame the 2 games were so similar.
I played Mega Drive version as a kid. For last few years I switched to SNES version.
Last "deleted" scene was absolutely hilarious.
been watching these guys for a long long time and they are still one of my favorites and nothing has changed besides their facial hair and a single substitution, from the intro to the presentation of the games all the way down to the video quality on their camera, Keep it up guys
PS: I have to disagree when it comes to the sound this is one of the games where the techno beats and soundbites of the Genesis really outshines the SNES, it gives the game a much darker and hard hitting feel imo
While they raised some valid points on the presence / absence of some songs, I gotta agree that the techno-sound of the Sega felt like a much better fit for the songs on the soundtrack. Funny enough from what I can recall of True Lies it's not really a "grimey" movie so even if the songs sound better on Sega, the soundtrack doesn't really fit the tone of it either way.
I was just thinking this morning, "I wish they would make a Console Wars for True Lies."
Now I know all I need to do is make a mental request, and it will be done within the hour. Thanks guys.
Use your powers for good
Can you mentally request Weapon Lord, please? xD
@@ConsoleWars I can't make any promises
"There's a cheat code that you can use in order to kill innocent people without losing a life... NICE!" LOL.
You guys are truly an underrated channel and deserve a lot more likes and subscribers. Keep up the awesome work.
Sound comparisons are the most subjective area to judge. The SNES obviously has the more advanced sound chip that can sample real instruments, but the creativity the developers had to use to make the synthetic sounds of the Genesis form songs is pretty amazing.
Most of the time the SNES has much better audio, but the Genesis audio is more pleasing to my ear a good amount of times
Yup, samples compared to having to meticulously dial in FM sound with one DAC channel for samples and square channels
Why is your subscription count so low?!! Stupid algorithm! Enjoying you guys for a couple years now, thank you for the great content. Most underrated channel on CZcams, hands down!
Thank you!
Buy my book, buy my book, buy my book. Nice critic reference I thought I was the only one in the world that remember that show
Hahaha the ending got me...flashing from movie to movie...brilliant idea! This was a fun one to watch. I didn't even know this came out on Genesis. I have it on SNES and it's fun but as you said, pretty tough. Great tunes, too.
Thanks man. Had a lot of fun coming up with those "deleted scenes."
The nostalgia you guys bring to the table makes me look forward to getting up in the morning!
Hey, my favourite old school gamers! Where is Killer Imstinct vs. Eternal Champions? I'm still waiting...
Me too
Man, you guys always seem to have games resting in the cryogenic freezers, waiting to be reviewed in the future. This is why you guys are one of my fave channels of all time, soley for the consistency. Keep it up, guys!
Folks so dont realize that Dick Insider ,III was portrayed by the late actor Dick Goesinya. To have that lost footage is gold itself.
I can't watch this til a bit later, but that thumbnail made me choke on my drink. Can't wait to watch the rest!
The title card with Dan in drag was hilarious, lol.
I can't believe you guys got THE Bobcat Goldthwait! Again!
Another good episode with the skits of the extra scenes really well pulled off. Great fun watching this.
Hold up... Is that blood in a SNES game?
Did I miss something in the last 30 years?
It all started with the SNES release of Mortal Kombat II.
@@RitzLazyArtist Right.. now I remember. Nintendo lifted their restrictions after seeing sales of MK1 being higher for Genesis. Nintendo wanted to beat SEGA at everything. Well... They succeeded, sort of. They won the console wars, but now their rival has become their ally. lol
@@BLKBRDSR71 And then F-Zero GX was born as it was developed by Sega
Superior handling of the chromaticity - I gotta remember that one 😄👍
I was just thinking that the intro skit to this episode was a lot like the Batman Forever intro skit. Then Weird Al returned. I love it! 😂
This one’s a long shot but, given that the first hint is Charlie Brown, who is a boy (and the squiggly stripe on the front of his shirt resembles a W in that picture) and the second hint seems to be some kind of island, my guess is that the next episode is going to be *Wonder Boy vs. Adventure Island* which would make it one of those rarer SMS vs. NES episodes.
As always, you put a smile on my face to see a new video out. Love the work you guys do!!
Great episode. I loved this game as a kid. It's funny cuz I had both the SNES & Genesis as a kid, but I can't recall for sure which version I played (I'm leaning SNES or maybe both). The movie is a true action classic, so it's good to see a game based on a film IP that's actually really good...especially during the 16 bit era.
Bill Paxton is a legend.
Every time I see Arnold from the back walking up, it reminds me of how some of the characters look in Soldiers of Fortune.
You guys thumbnails are the funniest on this website 😄😄
Best thumbnail lve seen in a long long time 😄😄
Hey, Console Wars. You guys should definitely compare Fatal Fury 2 - Super Nintendo vs. Sega Genesis! Pretty please?
on the list
@@ConsoleWars Thank you. I can't wait for that video to drop.
Now I really want to see you two review Judge Dredd; one of my all time favorite SNES games
What a great episode guys, those skits were awesome and that Bobcat Goldthwait voice sounded so legit!
Great job guys. Loved saying "Hi" at TMG and glad to see the videos keep coming.
We have crossed the Rubicon weird Al is now being parodied
You guys are so funny! I got to hand it to Pat, the more I see Pat in these skits, the more I like him overall. Love how you guys will just come out with a skit for an episode like ''oh we'll use deleted scenes from the special edition DVD/Blu-ray release as a skit. It's hilarious! Congratulations guys and hope to enjoy your videos for many more years.
Great episode, Dan and Pat! You guys are awesome! You guys are cool!
I never get as excited for a video as I do one of yours. See you guys next episode!
I didn't even know there was a Genesis version
The cover pic of this vid is super funny!
Thanks for that humor!
I really wish you guys would do more videos more often. I love this channel.
Keep it up the great content, guys. Love the authenticity of the videos and the obvious passion you put into them.
I sub to a lot of channels, but your videos are still pretty much the only ones I remember to actively click "like."
They're just so good, it actually makes me remember to do so! 🤣
Help me up = buy my book. Damn that's a throwback
Amazing episode! Great work guys.
So I've found a new CZcams channel to binge thanks guys great concept for retro game video
You got 97 episodes of joy to catch up on.

wow ! best episode ever, funny as hell. thank you guys ! (should have been a tie all the way for the smoothness of the genesis making up for the lesser quality sounds)
Best impressions yet. My favorite episode. How did I miss this one for so long?
Props for the Mark Felton music reference (Redemption's Last Chance).
These were some of your best bits! Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I weirdly watched the film last night. I really enjoyed it and liked the FX/miniature work
I love the Weird Al parodies - you guys nail them perfectly!
This was an interesting one because I never really considered True Lies - maybe it's because Beam was behind some of LJN's more notorious games, but... Yeah. This was cool! Thank you!
Also, it took me a minute to figure out the clue for the next video. Well played.
I really hope that "chromaticity" becomes a common word. When you overhear someone using it somewhere, you'll know you've truly made your mark on the world
That thumbnail is cursed... I love it.
Also one was published by LJN and one by Acclaim ? Were the games released at the same time ? Acclaim bought LJN and LJN was dissolved (in a vat of acid) in 1994, the same year the game was released. Was this just around the time before LJN was dissolved ? Did they publish it on LJN to get around game limits or something ? I have so many questions.
Also I hear this game is somewhat of a ... **Whispers** Hidden gem. Don't want to say it too loud or you'll summon him.
Also I know It's personal preference but I like some of the tracks on the Genesis better but some of the sound effects on the SNES better.
Those deleted scenes tho!!!🤣🤣🤣can I barrow this?
WAS THAT PAT AS 'BOB-CAT' GOLDWAITHE???!!!?? You guys had me dying with laughter, great impression!
Dan did that voice
@@ConsoleWars Nice one Dan! Saw him once doing stand up at Sasquatch Fest 2010 in WA, he killed it!
Love U guyssss!!!
Happy 2023 and LONG LIVE CONSOLE WARS CHANNEL
The impressions are very good! Professional voice acting level
"Deleted scenes" are the cat's me-ow
man I remember getting this game as well as other SNES games from a video rental store that was going out of business and was liquidating its inventory and what inspired me to get the game? Watching Video Arcade Top 10...ugh I think that showed how old I am...and how Canadian...lol but still a great game which was surprisingly published by LJN lol... and yeah it was super hard kid me couldn't do it without the invincibility password...don't ask why the infinite lives cheat used to creep kid me out when Aziz would pop up and call Harry a cheater lol...man ALOT of weird but fond memories I remember just form watching this episode, so props to you Dan and Pat! Great episode as usual!
Hello Blue Mary! Love you, baby
@@3xperiment8 don't make me get the taser out...lol
I remember this one being available a bit late, like It was in every rent store in 1996. When ps1 and N64 were soon already available. As a result the cartridges were cheap and could be seen everywhere. This game kinda always reminded me of The Untouchables. And didn't look nothing out of ordinary for me as just another isometric 16 bit. But looking at it now the developers really nailed It. The violence, weaponry, plot following the movie. Everything is so well done and turns out it's the best action movie based games on Snes. maybe only second to Judge Dredd IMO
@@3xperiment8 there are a surprising number of good SNES licensed games wasn't there? This, Judge Dredd, Batman Returns, Aliens 3..Spawn, Robocop vs Terminator, Spiderman Maximum Carnage, I think Jurassic Park woulda been good if you could save your game maybe I'm weird I enjoyed Cliffhanger even though I know that game wasn't great...course there are the share of stinkers like Batman Forever, Robocop 3 or the Rocketeer lol
Way to go guys, skit production is notably better, keeps up the great work!
Glad you enjoyed it
@@ConsoleWars always do!
You guys still got it!
Not sure what's the next episode means, but we're looking forward to it :D
In the meantime, here's our suggestion for future episodes:
WHICH IS BETTER?:
Bugs Bunny in Rabbit Rampage (SNES) vs. Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble (GEN)
Fatal Fury 2
The Death and Return of Superman
Daffy Duck in The Marvin Missions (SNES) vs Daffy Duck in Hollywood (GEN)
Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow (YES, the Genesis version does exist! But it was exclusive on the Sega Channel in North America)
Spider-Man and X-Men in Arcade's Revenge (probably more like a LESS CRAPPY thing if you don't really like this game)
The Terminator
Pirates of Dark Water
WHICH IS WORSE?:
Wolverine: Adamantium Rage
Shaq Fu
PAC-MAN 2: The New Adventures
The Incredible Hulk
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
And if you're bringing back WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?, we have some suggestion for ya:
Mega Man 1, 2, and 3 (NES) vs Mega Man: The Wily Wars (GEN)
Mega Man X (SNES) vs Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X (PSP)
Fatal Fury Special (SNES vs Sega CD)
You should have 1M subscribers. The love and passion in every video is superb. Continue with your great job. Greetings fro Spain.
Thank you Spain!
Finally! Thank you! Knowing how similar these two versions were, It would be interesting to see this!
This video is DEFINATELY a BIG step up in content quality! Been A fan of the show for a while and I gotta say this is hilarious!
Great episode as always, happy new year, greetings from Brazil!
Great video guys, absolutely joy to watch.
The Goldthwait bit was hilarious! Loved the video guys.
"superior handling of chromaticity" LMAO I gotta use that one
I requested this! Awesome video! Thanks guys!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Lmao, I loved the NIN parody of Terrible Lie, NIN is my all time fav music, and that was hilarious.
I’m a big NIN fan too
For the next episode hint, I think it might be a longshot, but Charlie is a boy, the second picture is an island. Call me crazy, but are we finally getting a Wonder Boy VS Adventure Island comparison!?
That impression was uncanny, even the small details checked out on my personal Goldwaith-ometre. I could see the face-mimicry in my head.
Quality stuff as always guys!
Really glad there's more deleted movie scenes. Awesome bobcat impression
Thanks
The best channel on CZcams! You guys F Rock! I would like to suggest a crazy plot where you would need to switch places xD That would be a lot of fun. Keep the good work!
Great vid, I didn't know this game was also on the Genesis, I liked playing it on the SNES. I popped the true lies game in again when enter the gungeon released since the main characters movement reminded me of true lies.
Thanks so much guys I absolutely love this series
Great episode. Love this game growing up.
This thumbnail is amazing
I’m excited for this episode!
Next Weeks Episode- Chuckatraz: Son of Chuck
Thanks for upload the clip.
