Where do I start guys after a comment like that?
Thanks. 🤣🤦🏽
We talk enough. 👍🏼
Keep well guys and thanks for the ongoing support.
Ripper Gav. Stunning country. That campsite is perfect. I love running into the older folk. If I had a choice I’d always rather have a yarn with the oldies than anyone my age.
Yeah, I’ll talk to anyone but the oldies are always interesting. Love how they are at retirement age and really living their lives.
Thanks for watching Matt. Keep well mate.
Another great trip. Looks like one that my vehicle could handle. One day...
Cheers,
Yeah Neil, could drone a charade down there if you wanted too, be rough but it would most likely make it. Just don’t want to be afraid of heights, some massive drop off.
One day hey… 👍🏼
Another great episode mate. Barry way is now added to my list
It’s a picturesque drive that’s for sure. Take ya time and take it all in and watch out for idiots driving the other way, gets pretty tight and narrow in spots.
Thanks for the support again 👍🏼
Such a picturesque campground at Native Dog, thanks for showing us this one again and showcasing Barry Way, amazing part of Snowy River region.
It’s a beautiful campground that’s for sure, be good to see if the brumbies are back there after this cull is finished, missed them this time.
I love the Barry Way, I’ll be driving it a lot while I’m working up at Snowy to get home, putting some gravel in my travel. 👍🏼
Reckon I’ll try some different camping spots just to showcase them.
@aguyandhistroopy Gav l believe Barry Way does not get shut down during winter closures, so winter camping is on!!! Yeah l loved it when l drove it fully last Jan, some beautiful camp spots, loved nine mile camp, only $6 booking fee too!! Will certainly be on my regular run from now on. Loved going over McKillops and down through Deddick Valley, it was truly awesome. Drove onto Orbost and loved the whole trip. Will do Native Dog from Suggan now lve seen your vid!! Cheers
@@Lee-astrololee nah, it’s open all year round.
I have my eye on a couple of river camp spots, but it might be a bit cold to swim though.
It’s always a good option for a drive home from work.
I’m yet to do Deddick Track. Always miss it due to seasonal closures or it’s been really wet when driving past it. 🤦🏽
A hot coffee and a totally enjoyable video, the scenery over there is incredible. It’s a good Sunday morning - thanks for sharing 🇳🇿
No problems TJ, glad you enjoyed it. Im guessing it’s a little too early for a beer being Sunday morning and all, so a hot coffee will have to do.
Thanks for the support. 👍🏼
Again big balls on behalf of everyone thank you sooooo much for doing this you re channel certainly beats anything on commercial tellie
Thanks so much mate :)
Thanks for the kind work Bulldoggy, I reckon there are a few better channels out there than mine that’s for sure. But I’m more than happy to allow you to keep watching mine.
Thanks again for watching and taking the time out to drop a comment.👍🏼
Traveled the Barry Way many times over the last 50 plus years and carted livestock out of Gelantipy quite a few times
You know the road pretty well then Rod. Be sketchy heading up from Suggan Buggan, your a braver man then me that’s for sure.

I can’t wait for you to stumble across our camp mate where ever we may be & have a yarn 🏕️
For sure guys, best you tell me where ya heading one time. That would be awesome, I could sleep on the top bunk and get some fishing tips !! 👍🏼🤣
Another good vid, cheers Gav.🇦🇺🍺🍺🍺

Big effort Gav, plenty of leg work put in with all that camera moving. Appreciate the work ethic. Great video again in brilliant country, well done.
Thanks mate, means a lot. These areas are pretty easy to film, and it’s always rewarding when you get good feedback.
Cheers 🍻
Great episode.
You keep giving me places to visit so thanks for that. Loved the time you took to explain things in this ep. It was a nice pace.
Thanks mate, you shouldn’t need me giving you places to visit, just need to point the vehicles up into the hills and your set.
But it’s not affected by seasonal closures and an easy drive with plenty to see around the area, Definitely worth heading that way.
Thanks for tuning in. 👍🏼
Thanks gav
I think watching this may have awakened my lost passion for the bush
Now, I'm going to work on getting another 4x4
Looking forward to getting out again
Great channel

I missed that hut when I was up there, couldn’t find it.
Camped in the same spot at Native Dog, it’s awesome right on the creek with all the brumbies coming into your camp.
Gotta love a beer in the bush
Dickhead 😂
Sounds like you. Wed some better maps Cliff. 🤦🏽🤣
Cracking little camp spot that one, I was spewing no brumbies were seen on that stay, but the cull had started already.
Beer taste good anywhere, but in spots like that 👌

Thanks mate for the trip on Barry Way and camps. Bloody nice of you to donate your firewood. Cheers, BobbyB.
Cheers BobbyB, no point lugging the firewood around, plus I spent a few hours over there by their fire having a good yarn. Return the favour.
Looking forward to driving Barry Way again soon and trying a few river camps.

Thanks for the video mate. I love that part of the world. Came in from benambra side with a 1990 Toyota Camry two-wheel drive. Had a mate that used to have some property up at benambra look forward to the next one mate. Good health for you and the family
Your welcome Mick, it is a beautiful part of the world I almost brought approx 40 acres east of Benambra on Limestone Rd, but it was bit to far from mum incase she had a relapse.
You could easily drive from Benambra to Jindabyne in that 2WD Camry on the right day.
Thanks for watching again mate and commenting .
Only been down Barry Way once, I can say I will 100% be back. Loved it. Yet again another cracking video pal!!
It’s a good drive, just a dirt road really, but the scenery is awesome. Plenty of drop offs down to the river to some cracking camp spots once you cross the border into Vic.
Plan on heading back one day on the way home from Snowy to camp at a few.
24:13 "I'm guessing they're gonna be unsociable" I think you were wrong on that Crusty!
Never judge a book by a cover they say. 👍🏼
Took a while to bring around, but it was a good night. That’s what’s it’s all about, got to get out and mingle.
Gav, great work mate. The amount of angles to get your footage I can only imaging the running around behind the scenes….. but rest assured it pays off. It adds immensely to the story of your vids man! Wicked part of the world 👍
Thanks James, a lot of work goes into it indeed, but it’s how I want my content to be, well until I get a camera man? So looks like I’ll be running cameras for a while yet. 🤦🏽🤣

They would be the ultimate touring vehicle when you get a bit older. The Jackson Carry me Campers are next level, easy access etc.
But yeah. Give me a rooftop conversion in a v8 with Jmax rear diff correction and I’d be happy.
@@aguyandhistroopy absolutely. Ultimate car I reckon, one day 👍
Barry way is a picturesque and quite interesting drive. I’ve seen plenty of Brumbies there as well.
It’s definitely a good drive, plenty to take in. Just need to keep your eyes on the road, had a few close calls in my time driving it with people booking in around corners.
Haven’t seen as many brumbies in my last trips.
Cheers for watching Peter, appreciate the support.
Great video.
Looks like a great trip.
I’ll have to come down one weekend.

It’s a good drive, definitely worth the effort, just a dirt road but I’d make it a long weekend and head to Mckillops Bridge and Little River Gorge also plus a few other locations.
Cheers for watching Craig. 👍🏼

Well Done
Yeah, just getting out and about every month or so to keep the content and channel moving.
Thanks for the support. 👍🏼
Awesome ep mate top job👍
Cheers Paul. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the support 👍🏼
You never disappoint Krusty. Delegate to Buchan, with side trips, is a great drive. 100% concentration needed, as if driving doesn't warrant that anyway! It's not a road you want to meet one of those Walrus Ram fuel guzzlers on. They should stick to towing horse floats on bitumen. You're in country where stock was driven from the Monaro to Gippsland. They did it tough in those days. Leave the tar for the car, keep the gravel for your travel. Cheers digger. 😀👍
@@mort8143 that could be my new slogan… ‘ leave the tar for the car ‘ 🤣🤣
Yeah… you need to be on your game when driving them roads, never know what’s around the next corner.
They did it hard for sure mate, but I reckon I’d rather be back in them days then the one I live in now.
I reckon I’d fit in pretty well.
Thanks for watching mate. And for commenting Mort. 👍🏼
Another good one mate. Native dog area is one of my favs, some nice mountain trout in the Buchan too. Havnt seen the brumbys up there the last couple of times since the bastards shot em all, its a shame cos i miss them coming through camp. Keep up the good work Gav!
Thanks Damo, beautiful spot that’s for sure, fishing was out of the equation after snapping a rod the day before, not that I would have landed one anyway ! 🤦🏽
Yeah, disappointing really about the brumby cull. Hopefully they make their way back there soon, if they left any that is.
Thanks for watching mate, and dropping a comment 👍🏼
Hi Mate camp their 2 years great spot, see they have put table and seats in will have to go back, good vid i am just hanging out to do Barry's way, hopefully in the next couple of months.
cheers
It’s a cracking spot that for sure Ian, hopefully they start to see a few brumbies getting back around there after the cull recently.
Barry Way is a pretty spectacular drive, can get a bit rough, and need to be vigilant for other vehicles. Last thing you want to do is go over an edge!
Thanks for watching mate and taking the time to comment. 👍🏼
7.5 hours of awesome work putting all the effort in to get us the angles and shots that piece together these videos is greatly appreciated.
Awesome video.
Loved it.
Planning a trip down via Yarangobilly/Long Plain and hopefully onto McKillops in August.
This has given some ideas for extra things to see along the way.
Might have to give Long Plains a miss, pretty sure it’s shut the first week in October for the brumby cull. I could be wrong but might pay to check the NP websites. 🤦🏽
But definitely plenty to see other than that, love MacKillops, I can never get enough of it, little river gorge and a lot more ! 👍🏼
@@aguyandhistroopy cheers mate we'll definately check out closures and NPWS Updates etc before we go.
I'll get my mate onto that.

@@mudgutzadventures436 Bahaha. Actually have your stickers at home, I’m about to put all of the stickers I have on my beer fridge.
Another great video, thanks Gav. I looked up the price of those Mercedes with the camper added, I'm thinking there wouldn't be much change out of 200K!
Yeah, not cheap. But when you get to an age where you are retired and want to do big trips and it’s only your kids inheritance why not live it up a little 🤣🤣

Sometimes the unplanned trips are a nice break. I think that campsite at Native Dog is the exact same one Dan and I camped in last may. I'ts a cracking spot there on the stream.
That’s how I roll Jase, just winging it all the time.
I reckon that’s the best spot there at Native Dog, apart from your under the tree line and the water drips on the awning all night after it rains. 🤦🏽
@@aguyandhistroopy there is that, but agree I think it's the best spot there as well. We even managed to find it in the dark 🙂
Nice vid mate. I always want to camp at Native dog flat one day will do it. Those Mercedes professionals are great for expeditions and desert crossing. But troopy with roof conversion will do the same with 1/2 the price and will get you back for sure.
Yeah, they were a great rig, but the price tag and ability to get parts when needed would be a killer.
I’m happy with the old girl. No roof conversion for this old girl, too much rust in the gutters.
It’s a great camp site, hopefully the brumbies make their way back there soon.
Nice vid mate. Camped up there last October with a mate on the motorbikes. A good frost and an awesome sunrise over the rocky outcrops. Take care,

Following day to Jamieson then Woods Point to Marysville. Day after that we made our way down to Sorrento and caught the ferry to Queenscliff and rode to Apollo Bay for the night. Following day we rode across western Victoria in wind and rain staying at the pub in Harrow, completely stuffed. Never been out that side before Gav.
Is the Barry way open through winter??
The maps are coming mate😬
Yep, open all year round, it’s really just a rough dirt road.
Worth the effort, even though a long drive from Melbs way. Plenty to see around the area.
Thanks for watching Mick. 👍🏼
Not a bad way of killing time on the way home mate lol … tell me something - is the Barry Way ok to take a semi-off road camper trailer down? If so I might add this to my list of to-do tracks …🤔
Yeah, always looking for another way home other than the highway.
You should be fine to tow through there, they say caravans aren’t recommended but there are heaps of horse floats going through there.
It’s just a rough dirt road really with corrugations, washouts and big arse potholes, but you drive to the conditions and you should be right.
Can get a bit tight the road up past Suggan Buggan with big drop off, this is where you will need balls of steel if you come head to head with another vehicle.
I have another video which will show you more of this area.
It can be a bit daunting for some people.
Hope this helps and doesn’t scare you off.
Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
@@aguyandhistroopy thanks mate. I’ll check out the other vid. I’m towing a small Jayco Swift Outback these days and it’s pretty good with the dirt tracks and corrugations. @@michaelbekendam5449 majority of them yes, but have done a few with mates, subscribers etc. my next episode is a random trip with a subscriber I met heading up to the hills who asked to tag along.
Most of my trips recently have been coming back from Snowy 2.0.
I like my own company, and it’s a lot easier to film when solo, and even easier to edit.
Thanks for the comment. Hope that answers it ok.
Love that side awning that you added onto your main awning with the pegs. Can I ask what brand is that and is it matched to your awning brand. Mick
Hey Mick, That’s my old set up. Was running a Rhino Rack Sunseeker 2.5mt awning with a batwing extension.
But I’ve now got a 23Zero 270 Falcon Pro awning on the passenger side and also the 23Zero 2.5mt awning on the driver’s side and an extension for that which is so much better in my opinion, and I’m not just saying that as they support the channel. I’ve only used it once, pretty much just for when the weather is really bad, the swag goes under it and it frees up the 270 to allow me more room.
Hope that helps mate. 👍🏼
When was this?
Was late November last year as to why I went for a swim.
Bit late posting it up, done a few good tracks, camping after this drive and had it benched for a while.
can you stay in the huts ?
Yeah, that hut wouldn’t be an issue I’d say, not many people get in there.
But most huts should only be used if the weather is pretty bad, and it’s not first in best dressed as most people seem to think. Personally I don’t stay in huts, I believe my set up is more the capable of handling a good storm. I’d rather leave them for some other poor unfortunate camper that needs the shelter or even hikers if you know where I’m coming from.
Another cracking effort. You take us to some great spots. For a minute there I thought you might have had a go at catching a fish then remembered the trouble you had at Gungarlin..
