Great video of the high country mate. Enjoying your vids and the information provided. Just wondering as to which 23zero swag you use and dimensions? Am tossing up between a farce and 23zero. Cheers in advance
@@Big_Daz thanks mate. I’m using the 23Zero Bandit 1100. It’s 1100W x 2150L x 850H approximately. Can’t say I’ve seen the Darche swag in the flesh, but I hear they are very similar in many ways. I think either way you will be happy. Thanks for watching mate and taking the time to comment. 👍🏼
I'm planning on going there, but am worried about the closures. Is it okay to still drive, if the tracks are supposedly 'closed' for the winter?
@@muzzo-z-3976 all closed up now mate. As I mentioned I on your other comment, I filmed this around May. You’ll have to wait till the Melb Cup weekend in Nov now.
Aren't kelly lane, zeka spur, Howitt road and many other roads and tracks that you went on closed during the winter, and during the time the video was filmed?
@@muzzo-z-3976 yeah mate you’re correct that a lot of tracks are closed over winter and some of these tracks are included in the closures. I try and keep my content up to date or as close to as possible, unlike most YT channels which are 6 months behind. This was filmed around May from memory. Hope this answers your question.. @@brian_brockleigh I went back recently after they finished all the works to the area. It’s pretty impressive.
Boulder Stream ??? Actually called a Scree Slope. "These chutes of loose stones, known as scree, formed as a result of freeze-thaw weathering. Water seeps into cracks in the rock, expanding when it freezes and seeping in deeper when it melts, gradually splitting the rock apart. The loose fragments are removed by gravity and fall onto the scree slopes beneath." Come for a vid.. get to learn some geology 🙂
@@chrisduckworth2022 well I did ask the question if they were called a ‘Boulder Stream’ hoping to get clarification on it. Been a few people, well 3 say Scree.! So I’m thinking that I miss heard the pronunciation of it as my hearing isn’t the best and thought it was Stream instead of Scree. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me Chris, I’ll correct myself next time I’m up that way and be sure to give you a shout out. I’ve never seen the rocks like that in a Scree, all the ones up at Snowy 2.0 are more rounded in shape? I’m more then happy to come on a trip and learn a bit more as long as you can run cameras for the 3 days we up in the High Country. Cheers for watching and commenting ! 👍🏼
@@aguyandhistroopy No need to do corrections Krusty 🙂 I get a ton of knowledge from watching your (and a few others's) vids, so it's swings and roundabouts. Gotta wait for the tracks to re-open but I'd be game if you are 😀

Loving the video so far. For those of us who aren't from Australia, could you go into a little more detail in what converting the state forest land into National Park would do? I'm assuming at the very least trail closures but I guess I'm curious why it's being proposed in the first place. I checked out the FB group and the website but it wasn't super easy to find a ton of details about the how and why of it. Stay safe out there mate!
@@wanderingoglethorpe means that people won’t be able to use the NP as they do the State Forests at the moment. Eg. motorbike riding, 4wding, horse riding, walking dogs, prospecting etc. they will close it all down. Tracks and access trails will become overgrown and when fires come through they won’t be able to be fought. It’s just the way our government try to take our freedom away. @@gavinjewell5886 they best be making the most of the high country as the way it’s going at the moment the Vic Gov will have it all closed down in the decade if we don’t all stand up and put a stop to all this bullshit.
@aguyandhistroopy Hopefully that won't happen, hopefully the rally and signed petitions will help
@@gavinjewell5886 I have a funny feeling it’s a done deal, it will be apart of this 30 by 30 deal the goverment apparently signed a few years back. Vic Gov don’t give a f@&k about people that enjoy the bush as 90 percent of them probably are from the country and we know it’s all about the city folk here in Vic. Hope you’re not a city folk 🤷🏼🤦🏽
@aguyandhistroopy I lived in the country when I was younger, now working in Melbourne driving trucks, live just out of the city, the government have never cared about anyone but themselves, I do a lot of camping in the Vic High Country.
@@gavinjewell5886 so true mate, it’s a shame as Vic is a great state and it’s been run into the ground by the governments. I’ve been in Queensland for 26 years, only moved back 3 years ago to help mum due to bad health. Didn’t realise how bad of a state Vic was in. 🤦🏽
They are actually called Rock Scree
@@gavinjewell5886 yeah your right, I don’t have the best hearing, so when I was working up on the Snowy 2.0 I probably thought they said ‘Streams’ instead of Scree’s, as for the rock- boulder I think that’s close enough. 🤷🏼 Thanks for correcting me Gav and thanks for watching mate 👍🏼
Yep, and scree running is enjoyed by some. You'd need to be fit and supple. I'm 40 years too old for that now. 😀😀👍
@@mort8143 the Boulder Scree’s as I will call them now are a lot different up in the Snowy Mountains where I’m working, look a lot more volcanic, and rounder in shape then the ones on the King Billy Track. They are constantly moving, only small distances each year, we had to stabilise them with rock bolts, mesh and concrete.
Love your work mate thanks for the work you put in to get the vids out
@@Peanut44139 cheers max, bit involved in it, but it’s always worth it when they drop and I see all the responses from the viewers. 👍🏼 Cheers for watching and dropping a comment 🍻
Good vid Gav, let’s keep the VHC clean and open!
@@daveroberts8347 thanks Dave. Yeah we need to spread the word regarding this proposal from the Vic Gov, I reckon they were trying to sneak it through parliament. The FB page is doing a great job to make a lot of people aware of it. But we all need to do our bit. 👍🏼
Way to go mate! White wine with red meat! 🎉🎉 and why not? 🎉
wish you would wear your seatbelt NO EXCUSE getting in and out for go pro etc
Hey mate, it’s just one of them things,I’ll try harder but you will always be commenting on this same topic if you keep watching my content. I had an uncle survive an accident in the VHC when he drove off an edge, he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time and was thrown out. They say if he was wearing one he would have taken the ride the whole way down and definitely would have not survived. Anyway, I appreciate the feedback and the comment mate. Keep well.
Inertia seatbelts keep tightening up over uneven surfaces, they're a pain in the arse in that sort of country. I'll bet the 4wd wallopers don't wear them either. 😀👍
@@mort8143 yeah they can be painful when they keep pinning you into the seat. But they are there for a reason, pretty sure all the times I’m not wearing them I’m doing minimal speeds so the risk of injury is low. I’ll try to be better at this, if not I’ll Have to try employing a camera man ! 🤦🏽
Are you w woman?
