    Ohtani has been subjected to media harassment every day.
    Once he is clearly found not guilty, you guys need to apologize.
    Reports in Japan have already revealed how the money can be transferred.

He should have been checking his bank account. Four million dollars is not a small amount of money. I don't believe he is telling the truth. The question should be how much did he pay the fall guy.

      You need to come out from your box. You are looking at it from your perspective only. Everything is strange to you because you don’t make over 60mils annually, because you are not the GOAT in baseball, because you don’t need an interpreter to open bank accounts, paying bills, housing expenses, discussing with your boss about your job, and donating mils etc. Ippei was his ears, mouth and hands inside and outside of baseball for him so he could focus playing the sport.
      Please read all the articles, listen to all the interviews from the past then you will start seeing more. The part of changing stories never came from Ohtani.
      A lot of people like you had no interest in Ohtani or hate him being great before this report then just jumped in without learning about the guy.

    You have one guy who meets bookie at poker games and admits he had long term gambling issues, people think he must be the fall guy. While the other person literally never gambled or shown any interest in any sports other than baseball, he must be the degenerate gambler. Internet is wild.

      Dude, large sums came out of Shohei’s personal bank account multiple times. The possibility of this happening without Shohei’s knowledge is zero. Banks at minimum will need Shohei’s signature and speak to him over the phone before releasing the funds.

      Ohtani is also generous. He had at least one account that had 10 million in it used for donations to be allocated to charities, which had been entrusted to his assistant, Ippei. If Ippei tapped into the donation account or accounts, then this could very well explain how Shohei never got suspicious, assuming the account was functioning like it should.
      Ippei had every reason to lie that Shohei gave him the money since if he didn't, he would have admitted to theft on the spot. When Shohei's lawyers got hold of what ippei said, they made him retract the statement. Shohei's lawyers immediately declared the theft side of the story.

    So Ohtani just singed a 700mil deal, since he knows all the rules of baseball, and knowingly he will lose the contract if he bet on illegal betting, somehow he can owe a 4.5mil, to a bookie and get caught, so he can ruin his life and never play baseball again, that's make a lot of sense.

    Othani was betting on major league teams during his college days. I don't believe he did not continue to bet.
    The interpreter may very well be the fall guy. Othani is either lying or he is naive and clueless.

      Otani did not attend college. He has been a professional baseball player ever since he graduated from high school.
      Baseball betting itself is illegal in Japan, so Otani cannot bet on MLB teams. Sports betting is almost illegal in Japan.

    In the scenario where Ohtani is the victim of a massive theft, why should it taint his career? It has nothing to do with his personality.. it's the opposite, he trusted people too much, but it also shows his boy scout personality, doesn't it?

    He is innocent. Come on now. He is the GOAT for reason. His mind is occupied by baseball. Ippei took advantage of that and knew Ohtani cared less about the balance he had in the account. Sad but he was betrayed a big time. Some Japanese reports said people heard Ohtani yelling loud at Ippei when he admitted he transferred the money without his approval in the room. Ohtani now has wife but living in a foreign country for 6 years without any family member close by, Ippei must be the only person he felt close.

      Are you serious? He signed the transfers of the money out of his bank account nine times for $500,000 and he didn’t know if he was doing. This is a total joke he’s going to get nailed he’s clean image is gonna be flushed. When everything gets out.

People prioritize what they believe and normal to them and the thoughts block and ignore those details.

      But when you listen to Ohtani carefully and pay full attention to details I mean not only this press conference but any interviews in the past, you will start seeing more. This guy doesn’t talk a lot but when he does. He backs up words with actions. Very truthful man.
      He doesn’t care if he has a clean image to you or me.
      He just wanna be the greatest baseball player ever and him pursuing his dream is attracting many people in the world. We will see the result of investigation. Just don’t hate.

It comes from the hate in you to search ‘Ohtani’ videos, read the comments and leave negative comments. The research is important before you hate and prioritize your normal.       I doubt Ohtani want to press charges. For many people it won’t make sense not to press charges but it must be very hard for him knowing Ippei would go to jail. I don’t know if Ippei can survive in there. He seems very timid. For Ohtani, 4.5mil is like less than $50 for us so not that big deal for him but ippei’s betrayal made him very upset.

    It took ohtani a week to read a statement and doesn’t answer any questions. It normally takes me a week to defend myself against lies as well. It’s not like I know the truth the entire time. Then not accepting any questions. All of Ohtanis behavior is at best extremely sketchy. Dodger fans gaslighting everyone in every comment section can’t change that.

    Lollllll Mizuhara was more like the Fall...Winter...Spring and Summer guy...The guy who placed bets for Ohtani year round. Now if you chart some of his expected results and statistics thru particular dates, his undisclosed injurirs...Ohtani was likely betting on himself and his team IMO. The bookie knew he could get his money back with a big bet and 2 Ohtani HBP or no hits, etc.

    Did he answer HOW he had access to his money? Ohtani was obviously gambling since HIS MONEY WENT TO THE BOOKMAKER. Goodluck transfering millions without a bank asking for verification before the transfer. He didnt even report it to the police authorities.
