I’m so scared. My teeth extractions is tomorrow, a couple or a few root canal’s, one filling and my nerves is thru the roof right now. I haven’t seen the dentist since 2012 or 2013!!! I have a few autoimmune that has taken my teeth. Sjogren’s Syndrome, Lupus, RA, MCTD, SICCA,… the list continues. I wanted the implants but I can’t afford them. I’m glad you have yours. Thank you for the video I'll be getting dentures soon first is the extractions I have my first extraction next Tuesday with the dentist nervous after the extractions then I have to wait a month for the healing they said a month of two while they make my dentures . I'm nervous but very much needed . I used to wear braces had a $10,000 mouth that went to crap because of my habits with smoking I now officially quit smoking 🚬🚬🚭🚭 I'm nervous about wearing dentures a full set of them

I'm 40. I've had dentures since I was 15. Had 8 implants placed when I was 25...my jaw withdrew them all by the age of 30... I still struggle daily with my confidence and have since I've had them... people's perception seems to always have a negative effect on a person without teeth opposed to one with them,socially... mentally... physically... emotionally... I'm speaking for most who've lost them at a young age, but I believe we've lost a lot more than just our teeth.
Did or do they replace metal screws on implants that have been rejected ? Did you have full dental plates on upper and bottom ? I am facing this reality in a few weeks to a few months. I am 59 next month and this is such an emotional journey.
@@pamelajefferies3197 Hi Pamela! I actually had 4 and 4. Due to the fact that I was very young, my bone density wasn't strong enough, so all of them were rejected periodically. Starting from the 1st year and lasting 5 yrs... anyone can have t weak jaw structure, however. But the likelihood of an adult to have a mature structure is much greater of a probability that they will be successful! I haven't gone back to the drawing board yet to see if I can even be a candidate for them again... been about 10 years now, so you got me thinking and I'm gonna get some X-rays done 👍. Implants are wonderful, either way, and I would recommend them to anyone that is able to afford them or have a sweet insurance to help, cause dey spensive😆... nonetheless, thanks for reaching out and hope I've helped and I'll pray for a successful operation for you, Pamela!

My husband too, knocked them out. Calcium deficiency from my pregnancies and so many health issues I won't make another 5 years, I'm only 41. My kidneys are failing and my lungs are so bad that I can't walk up the stairs without stopping for rest. I put a great show on for the world, but most days I feel like I'll never smile again. My mom has dentures because she lost her teeth when she was pregnant with me due to a deficiency. She had dentures when she was 25. I hate the stigma of people with dentures. They aren’t all drug addicts.
I'm a recovering addict ( almost 6 years clean) during my addiction I dated a man who beat the shit out of me and knocked out two of my teeth, I continued using meth to numb the pain since I had no resources at the time and it made my teeth worse and worse. After 4 years in recovery I got 18 extractions of all rotten teeth and received my first pair of dentures. My confidence was instantly restored and today I received my long term dentures. The price was nearly $5000 OOP for full dentures. I will be 32 in July. I am a survivor of domestic violence, addiction, and chronic pain. I just got partial dentures today for most of my back still got my front teeth and it has felt like hell from the pain and just some messed up feeling that "you are losing your teeth, nothing will be the same"
I am in a place where I need to make choices. I lost some of my front teeth. I am getting cavities under crowns because I have an extremely dry mouth. Thank you for sharing your strength! I'm 49 and most of my teeth have crumbled and fallen out even after fixing them. Now it's time to deal with it and save for good dentures. It lowers your quality of life so much I hate leaving my house!

Thank you for posting this. I lost all my teeth at 43 last year. It really doesn't bother me I never got the dentures. I've learn to eat with my gums only soft foods. I still eat meat and all just nothing with a hard or very rough surface. the blender also has been my best friend. For me I guess I just prefer not having teeth. I definitely don't miss the infections I used to get as I'm doing 10 times better now and haven't had an infection in a year. It feels good to be pain-free. Everyone's different though I wish everyone well on their journey

Denture wearing should be normalized. There are those of us who have bad teeth, no matter what. I’m one of those people. I’ve spent more money than I care to think on implants which failed, partials, bridges. My option were dentures. I’m a week post op and I have no regrets about my decision. Wished I had done this many years ago.

For everyone wondering, this girl has her own youtube channel. She has had dentures from a younger age. And has had them for quiet some time. This video youre seeing is her showing why shes asking for help. Because her gums and jaw bone is deteriorating at a very rapid rate. Her bottom gums are honestly very very thin. I had 8 of my back teeth pulled and my gums are like almost a quarter inch thick in width to put it into perspective. Shes probably got about a 16th of an inch of width in the bottom gums. Its truly unfortunate that implants are looked at as a "cosmetic" surgery. When in reality they keep this from happening. Jawbone and bone loss in general is a real issue when it comes to denture wearers. Perosnally i need a full upper and ive just been pushing through the pain of my teeth due to not wanting to experience that type of bone loss till im over 40. But yes the only thing that actually stops bone loss in your mouth without teeth are implants. Due to there being something for the bone to bond to. With your teeth not there the bone becomes very brittle and starts to break or deteriorate away. Its unfortunate but a lot of people have to get them wether due to drugs, just not taking care of their teeth as a teen, or a medical reason. I havent seen her channel but i hope she got help. Because i can say with living with broken teeth for awhile now. Not enjoying your own appearance or constantly stressing over it sucks so much

I'm going through the same thing my friend.. Every single tooth I have is Absessed and broken to the gun line.. I also tried to wait as long as possible for dentures because of the bone Loss... But nobody told me that when you do this the infection actually eats You're bone away so when you do finally have them pulled there's No jaw bone left... This is what i'm going through now, like her I don't have enough gum to put a denture on.. And I can't Afford implants.. Wish they would stop making implants a cosmetic thing because it's not cosmetic only, Dentures don't work if there's nothing for them to sit on. My heart breaks for what you had to endure going without teeth for so long. NOBODY should have to go around in life without teeth EVER. It's humiliating. Teeth are so important not only to eat but it's how humans identify whether a person is healthy and it can GREATLY affect your social life if you don't have teeth. Humans are such social creatures and while it's not right, we often judge people based on their teeth. It's subconscious, but we ALL do it because it's ingrained in us as part of what helped us survive and perpetuate the species. Teeth are one of the first things we see when we meet and interact with people. Seriously, this is why dental care needs to be FREE EVERYWHERE, because teeth really are SO SO IMPORTANT for our health and well-being. I’m am with you iv had all my teeth removed due to bone infection and now having trouble getting them to fit right got dentures but have to have them remade I have no confidence any More and feel like people look at me like I’m a drug addicted and judge me I was handsome now I feel ugly and stupid 😢
Oh I'm here for support as well. I took a medication in 2009v(it's now Jan '24) & it caused to lose all my teeth. Smh. 😢 I'm just having a really difficult time with it. It definitely doesn't help with mean Rude #!##!@^ dental workers. Let alone the $$$!!

Why can't insurance companies help cover implants? It's necessary to have teeth. There are reasons people lose their teeth that aren't their fault. You'd think something this important would be easier to afford.

I am 35 I just had all mine removed Dec 2023 I had cellulitis in my lower bottom jaw bone they removed them all top and bottom cleaned my bone and sowed me up healing was rough but went well I don’t have the 45 I was told for snap in dentures I not only look like a different person I feel like a different person it’s very humiliating I cry all the time all I can do is pray the money we do have saved up and continuing to save isn’t enough and all I no to do is pray because if I don’t have hope in Jesus I don’t have anything I long for the day to take a family photo with my family my two miracle daughters and to smile and teach them by example how to brush there teeth it’s things you never thought about until your in this journey what feels like is already been way to long I’m devastated it’s the hardest season of my life I’m walking through I told my husband just tonight it’s as if I went from being fine to disfigured overnight and it’s hard to deal mentally then it was physically the pain from infection was the worst pain I’ve experienced outside of child birth and the mentally anguish the stares the comments the questions the looks and the way people treat me is the worst I’ve been through without Jesus and my family I would be lost 😞 and I’m fighting mentally everyday it’s hard to put make up on and look at myself in the mirror anymore I cry just about every time it’s devastating to a women and to your mental well-being all from not having teeth and to think our insurances doesn’t touch the cost to these surgeries is beyond me 🙏 we all receive a miracle one way or another in Jesus name ! And also I didn’t have time to get dentures or wait 3 weeks for them to be made my surgery was emergency I had a week to prepare myself but I couldn’t have ever prepared myself for this part no after plan just left empty no teeth you can’t eat your entire life changes absolutely everything one way or another so I have no dentures nothing right now it’s been 5 months

I have 4 implants in my top jaw. I couldn't afford the bottoms. I went to an Affordable Dentures and implants and it cost close to 8,000. My fiance needs tops and bottoms done and they quoted him around 14,000. If you can swing doing only the top or bottom jaw for now I suggest you do your bottoms. When the time is right then you can get the other one done. It takes 3 years to get super significant bone loss. The bone can always be worked back up with bone graphs. Hang on to hope! You are not alone!

Having chronic dry mouth destroyed my teeth because of reduced saliva flow. Two front teeth need root canals and i have no money for them so they will provably get extracted. Insurance refuses to help. Other top teeth need fillings and if i cant come up with the money for them they will eventually get extracted too,leading to me probably needing full top dentures. I stay in bed all day depressed,rarely talk to anyone. Only go outside if i absolutely have to. I am only 27 years old. You are DEFINITELY not alone.

I just got full dentures at 48 due to dipping so my life. I played baseball and football in high school and college and almost everyone dipped. Most never quit. And they are having the same issues. I was told they could save about half of my teeth but the cost of multiple procedures versus getting full dentures was a no brainer. It's such an emotional roller coaster. I'm 4 months in and can't eat most of the things i used to enjoy. My smile is great but going out to eat is very difficult. Still having bone spicules. Eventually I'll get screw in implants but until then its tough. That being said it's worth it. I notice how people look at me different now that i have a good smile. I used to never smile in public. Stay strong and know your not alone out there people. And yes you shouldn't have to leave your own country to get affordable dental care.
I'm in the same place, at 34 years old my gums are gone. after the birth of my daughter my calcium was depleted and i didnt know. All my teeth started falling out and i had thought i had great teeth! wrong and now i have none. The pain was in describable and i now have dentures that are over sized and my gums are gone my bone structure has changed and ive been living like this for 8 years and its to the point it caused me nervous breakdowns because i cant even chew food. I wish someone would have told me it would change my face structure and that i would end up regretting every single denture choice i made at 34 i no longer think im beautiful

Amen I am 35 and have had full dentures for the last 2 ish years and I'm too self conscious to let my dentist fix the 2 teeth that have fallen out on the bottom as he said he would need it for half of the day! I glued them back in myself and so far so good but why insurance doesn't cover implants which helps keep ppl healthy and helps prevent major surgery in the future boggles my mind!

I’m 23 and I’ve had every tooth pulled out. I have a full set of permanent dentures. It’s really life changing. On one hand it’s so nice to get all the bad teeth out and not be in pain anymore, but on the other hand having no teeth as a 23 year old is very scary.
I just went through almost a year of this shit and I literally didn't wanna live anymore. Just be patient. Things will shape and start to heal. Just keep it clean and stay positive. Life will be amazing after that I promise.
I have this same problem. Ive had dentures since 2010 & my dentures broke last week. The two top front teeth fell out & can not be repaired. This IS traumatizing for ANY women, at any age! Its bad enough to grow old & hard to cope as a once pretty lady. Yr hair gets thin & yr hips grow wide. Makeup fills the wrinkles you now have & yr unsure what to wear or how much makeup you should put on. You still have long hair but now its gray & then you hear things like, “Women over 50 shouldnt have long hair or wear high heels!” 😳😧😩 Who makes up these rules anyway? Some skinny YOUNG blondes in Hollywood or models in magazines?! Who are “THEY” anyway. My mouth hurts all the time & my bottom denture has not fit right for some time now. I have tried to endure the pain when I run to the store but I can not eat with them in. It hurts too bad!!! Now that the top ones have fallen out it is a must that I get new ones. However, you young lady have a chance to encourage others & of course you will eventually get yr implants. I wish I cld have gotten implants for at least my bottom set. As it stands now, I have jst recently turned 60. That might seem far off to you but trust me. It is NOT that far off. I am running out of time & losing bone as well. Although, in this world occupied with youth, you have more of a chance to have people donate or feel sympathy for you to help. You are very pretty & I felt yr tears. I totally understand. Just think of how scary it is for an older woman as myself. The worl really acts like they just want you to get out of the way & to be quiet. Its really scary & so very heartbreaking. I have some beautiful granddaughters. My only daughter lives far from me but I do my best to try & have a relationship with then thru Facetime. However, I cant really now due to my teeth. I do not want to talk to my granddaughters with no teeth! Can you imagine how crushing that wld be for me. Anyway, I will shut up. Thank you for sharing yr story. If I cld, I wld help us both. I have had not a single tooth in my mouth since I was 26 years old. I will be 31 this year. And Being a woman living like this is especially humiliating. I cannot wear dentures anymore as my bone is too worn thin... it only took 9 months after my final ten teeth were pulled and I started wearing dentures that I was unable to make enough contact with them to keep them from falling out. I will need (successful) grafts before I can even begin to think about any sort of 4-on-implants to have permanent dentures. 5 years is too long to not be able to smile, and too long to continue destroying the little bone I have left trying to 'chew' food, and too long to not feel like I am a worthy enough looking partner for the love of my life. I had my dentures stolen from an abusive ex-boyfriend. I have insurance but it doesn't cover implants. Aspen Dental told me I don't have enough bone so they said we can do 4 bottom implants, 4000$I would have to pay up front front. I said I didn't have 4000 I will take dentures. They wouldn't give them to me. 2 years now I finally got new insurance hopefully I find the right dentist to help me. Thank you for sharing your story
I was told at 18 that i needed dentures from an inflamed gum disease. Periodontal disease. My gums were red painful and soft. For some reason my family history on my mom's side everyone has this problem. My mom lost all her teeth at 29 yo. It's devastating and the amt of bone loss is staggering. My advice to anyone going thru this is know you are not alone and watching all these internet influencers with a gleaming pearl white smile doesn't help but there is help out there you just need to do a little research. In mexico you can find very good dentists for a fraction of the price you pay in the US.❤😊
Yea and nothing is ever done about it sadly, smh. They told me 50,000 for my treatment plan upfront for implants, like wtf has that kind of cash upfront except the wealthy. Therefore, I had to settle for partials for a couple G's today. I am relived the tooth pain is gone but feel my self esteem is so low because I am self conscious and just need to not care what people think and just be me if they notice and sends love and 💪 to anyone else experiencing this adversity.
I can't imagine how painful this is. There was a time when I had an ulcer inside the roof of my mouth. I couldn't eat well at that time, even drinking water was painful. What made matters worse was that we were in the month of Ramadan, a month in which we had to fast all day and then eat at night. Except me. I couldn't even eat well at night. It was only two weeks ago that I was watching my mother's delicious cooking for this blessed month, but I couldn't enjoy it. Praise be to God, it went away and I recovered after two weeks. I truly felt the blessing of food and realized what it means to eat to live, not to be satisfied. I hope that all healthy hearts in the world that have been exhausted by disease will be healed
You are so amazing ❤and brave. I had my teeth pulled about 3 years ago and literally only had the heart to do it because COVID and I could wear a mask. I have TMJ in my jaw from an abusive relationship 😢and to top it off when I had the last 18 teeth pulled the oral surgeon was supposed to file down my bone because I have an overbite he did not 😢so I have been ordering these temporary dentures that I make myself. I'm so self conscious and uncomfortable because I keep having to order new ones because they're temporary. I commend you,you give me strength and courage so thank you . Pregnancies are what happened to me. it caused my teeth to break and shatter. Yea, I took vitamins and did everything needed. Samething happened to my grandmother. Plus, things like diabetes, being on medications, etc. Be mindful. Bless your heart dear.
Yea brushing my teeth twice a day as well as flossing after I ate any food did not help me at all lol. I got pregnancy periodontal disease with my first child 9 years ago and that isn't something that can be cured. And now I have hardly any teeth left and I'm barely 30 years old. It's not from drugs, it's not from bad hygiene, it's from an uncontrollable medical issue that I could not prevent or cure. And sadly, most people with teeth issues like this have gone through the same issues. Everyone just assumes it's either drugs or not brushing and it's so ignorant.

Omg my situation now. After i finish my financing for my dentures, im going back to finance the implants. I struggled mentally when i first was told i needed them. I felt like i was to young 😔 but being on tvis journey, im realizing ppl much younger than i have gotten them. 2 weeks in now. Trying to be patient with my progress. I shed my old teeth and grow new ones constantly like every couple of years So i always get new teeth that ensure i have a good set of teeth always or at least while i replece the old ones
In Colombia you can get the same procedure with zirconia even for 19k. If you choose acrylic is even cheaper. My father had it done there since the price here in the USA was too much for our budget (around 45k). Now he is really happy and recommending that Dentist to all his friends that need major procedures like him. If you have any question let me know.

Im a 43 yo man and my teeth are horrible. Ive brushed and flossed and yet my teeth just seem to continue to be a problem. A lot of people don’t know that if you have dry mouth even if your brush and floss and take care of teeth the dry mouth ruins your teeth quickly, a lot of medications or conditions can cause it also drug use and smoking or sometimes your salivary glands just don’t produce enough spit for whatever reason. Also some peoples diets can cause the acid in your spit that breaks down food to be too acidic so it eats your teeth and the food. Sometimes it’s just genetics that deal you with a weak set of teeth.
@@KagomeYasha023 I've heard that dry mouth can do damage. I'm pretty sure it's genetics, my mom's side of the family has horrible issues with teeth. My grandmother had full dentures by the age of 36 and my great grandmother had it even worse. Dad's side is bad too so IDK. I will look into the medication, I didn't think of that. I had an amazing set of dentures made. I've worn them for over 10 years. they're so worn. I'm so afraid to get new ones because some people aren't really experienced at making them and they end up looking so fake! The person/place that made my current set isn't in buisness anymore..... idk what to do..

Im 25, in the process of losing my teeth 1 by 1, lost 2 back ones already and about to have 3 more pulled 2 up front and one in back, no matter how well i take care of my teeth and how aften i go to the dentist to get them cleaned which is every 3 months the bone continues to recede, sooner ill be left toothless at most likely the age of 30. Its so embarrassing and depressing. Im scared the implant posts will be rejected so not too sure about those but ill just stick to my partials for now
At the age of 16 years old I did the cosmetic dentistry.It was worth it. The doctor originally prescribed Tylenol/codeine. It was nasty and made me feel like I was hoing to throw up the medicine.

I have spent most of my life and thousands of dollars on dental surgery, gum surgery, freeze dried bone replacement due to a combination of genes and a car accident that sheared off my teeth 50 years ago. Bottom line is at age 67 my teeth hurt, I need gum surgery still and fillings. No dental insurance. I spent enough to buy a small country. I wished I got dentures 30 years ago.
It's a natural thing that once you lose a tooth you start losing bone tissue that was once there depending on where tooth loss occured if you lose a carni then other teeth will shift to cover and that bone is lost for good. I had a denture because they were cheap ( not exactly but less expensive than implant)but noticed inflammation on the gum line, swollen gum on the area overall hated the denture saved up for a implant got the tooth permanently replaced. Issue is no smoking with implants otherwise it rots the implant from the inside out and gum inflection in the area will be very difficult to subdue once the onset has started once the rod shafts area is inflected very very painful and needs to be removed and then replaced - cost thousands and on new crown another couple if thousands that will need to replaced too. You also need to keep area and general oral hygiene up to scratch and also go to dentist every so often get clean and polish and general teeth check up. Even though getting implants is a permanent solution it also has it downsides with maintenance ( have a few implants myself ) only way you can get good maintenance is going to a good dentist / every 10-13 years crowns need to replaced $1,500 per tooth, so implants don't last forever they do need to replaced after decade or so. I'm only fortunate because I'm from a wealthy background otherwise my teeth will look terrible otherwise missing teeth everywhere. ( 6 implants to be exact in different locations of my mouth)

Thank you for the video I'll be getting dentures soon first is the extractions I have my first extraction next Tuesday with the dentist nervous after the extractions then I have to wait a month for the healing they said a month of two while they make my dentures . I'm nervous but very much needed . I'm 40. I've had dentures since I was 15. Had 8 implants placed when I was 25...my jaw withdrew them all by the age of 30... I still struggle daily with my confidence and have since I've had them... people's perception seems to always have a negative effect on a person without teeth opposed to one with them,socially... mentally... physically... emotionally... I'm speaking for most who've lost them at a young age, but I believe we've lost a lot more than just our teeth.
Did or do they replace metal screws on implants that have been rejected ? Did you have full dental plates on upper and bottom ? I am facing this reality in a few weeks to a few months. I am 59 next month and this is such an emotional journey.
@@pamelajefferies3197 Hi Pamela! I actually had 4 and 4. Due to the fact that I was very young, my bone density wasn't strong enough, so all of them were rejected periodically. Starting from the 1st year and lasting 5 yrs... anyone can have t weak jaw structure, however. But the likelihood of an adult to have a mature structure is much greater of a probability that they will be successful! I haven't gone back to the drawing board yet to see if I can even be a candidate for them again... been about 10 years now, so you got me thinking and I'm gonna get some X-rays done 👍. Implants are wonderful, either way, and I would recommend them to anyone that is able to afford them or have a sweet insurance to help, cause dey spensive😆... nonetheless, thanks for reaching out and hope I've helped and I'll pray for a successful operation for you, Pamela!

My husband too, knocked them out. Calcium deficiency from my pregnancies and so many health issues I won't make another 5 years, I'm only 41. My kidneys are failing and my lungs are so bad that I can't walk up the stairs without stopping for rest. I put a great show on for the world, but most days I feel like I'll never smile again. My mom has dentures because she lost her teeth when she was pregnant with me due to a deficiency. She had dentures when she was 25. I hate the stigma of people with dentures. They aren’t all drug addicts.
I'm a recovering addict ( almost 6 years clean) during my addiction I dated a man who beat the shit out of me and knocked out two of my teeth, I continued using meth to numb the pain since I had no resources at the time and it made my teeth worse and worse. After 4 years in recovery I got 18 extractions of all rotten teeth and received my first pair of dentures. My confidence was instantly restored and today I received my long term dentures. The price was nearly $5000 OOP for full dentures. I will be 32 in July. I am a survivor of domestic violence, addiction, and chronic pain. I am in a place where I need to make choices. I lost some of my front teeth. I am getting cavities under crowns because I have an extremely dry mouth. Thank you for posting this. I lost all my teeth at 43 last year. It really doesn't bother me I never got the dentures. I've learn to eat with my gums only soft foods. I still eat meat and all just nothing with a hard or very rough surface. the blender also has been my best friend. For me I guess I just prefer not having teeth. I definitely don't miss the infections I used to get as I'm doing 10 times better now and haven't had an infection in a year. It feels good to be pain-free. Everyone's different though I wish everyone well on their journey

Denture wearing should be normalized. There are those of us who have bad teeth, no matter what. I’m one of those people. I’ve spent more money than I care to think on implants which failed, partials, bridges. My option were dentures. I’m a week post op and I have no regrets about my decision. Wished I had done this many years ago.

For everyone wondering, this girl has her own youtube channel. She has had dentures from a younger age. And has had them for quiet some time. This video youre seeing is her showing why shes asking for help. Because her gums and jaw bone is deteriorating at a very rapid rate. Her bottom gums are honestly very very thin. I had 8 of my back teeth pulled and my gums are like almost a quarter inch thick in width to put it into perspective. Shes probably got about a 16th of an inch of width in the bottom gums. Its truly unfortunate that implants are looked at as a "cosmetic" surgery. When in reality they keep this from happening. Jawbone and bone loss in general is a real issue when it comes to denture wearers. Perosnally i need a full upper and ive just been pushing through the pain of my teeth due to not wanting to experience that type of bone loss till im over 40. But yes the only thing that actually stops bone loss in your mouth without teeth are implants. Due to there being something for the bone to bond to. With your teeth not there the bone becomes very brittle and starts to break or deteriorate away. Its unfortunate but a lot of people have to get them wether due to drugs, just not taking care of their teeth as a teen, or a medical reason. I havent seen her channel but i hope she got help. Because i can say with living with broken teeth for awhile now. Not enjoying your own appearance or constantly stressing over it sucks so much

I'm going through the same thing my friend.. Every single tooth I have is Absessed and broken to the gun line.. I also tried to wait as long as possible for dentures because of the bone Loss... But nobody told me that when you do this the infection actually eats You're bone away so when you do finally have them pulled there's No jaw bone left... This is what i'm going through now, like her I don't have enough gum to put a denture on.. And I can't Afford implants.. Wish they would stop making implants a cosmetic thing because it's not cosmetic only, Dentures don't work if there's nothing for them to sit on. My heart breaks for what you had to endure going without teeth for so long. NOBODY should have to go around in life without teeth EVER. It's humiliating. Teeth are so important not only to eat but it's how humans identify whether a person is healthy and it can GREATLY affect your social life if you don't have teeth. Humans are such social creatures and while it's not right, we often judge people based on their teeth. It's subconscious, but we ALL do it because it's ingrained in us as part of what helped us survive and perpetuate the species. Teeth are one of the first things we see when we meet and interact with people. Seriously, this is why dental care needs to be FREE EVERYWHERE, because teeth really are SO SO IMPORTANT for our health and well-being. Why can't insurance companies help cover implants? It's necessary to have teeth. There are reasons people lose their teeth that aren't their fault. You'd think something this important would be easier to afford.

I am 35 I just had all mine removed Dec 2023 I had cellulitis in my lower bottom jaw bone they removed them all top and bottom cleaned my bone and sowed me up healing was rough but went well I don’t have the 45 I was told for snap in dentures I not only look like a different person I feel like a different person it’s very humiliating I cry all the time all I can do is pray the money we do have saved up and continuing to save isn’t enough and all I no to do is pray because if I don’t have hope in Jesus I don’t have anything I long for the day to take a family photo with my family my two miracle daughters and to smile and teach them by example how to brush there teeth it’s things you never thought about until your in this journey what feels like is already been way to long I’m devastated it’s the hardest season of my life I’m walking through I told my husband just tonight it’s as if I went from being fine to disfigured overnight and it’s hard to deal mentally then it was physically the pain from infection was the worst pain I’ve experienced outside of child birth and the mentally anguish the stares the comments the questions the looks and the way people treat me is the worst I’ve been through without Jesus and my family I would be lost 😞 and I’m fighting mentally everyday it’s hard to put make up on and look at myself in the mirror anymore I cry just about every time it’s devastating to a women and to your mental well-being all from not having teeth and to think our insurances doesn’t touch the cost to these surgeries is beyond me 🙏 we all receive a miracle one way or another in Jesus name ! I didn’t have time to get dentures or wait 3 weeks for them to be made my surgery was emergency I had a week to prepare myself but I couldn’t have ever prepared myself for this part no after plan just left empty no teeth you can’t eat your entire life changes absolutely everything one way or another so I have no dentures nothing right now it’s been 5 months

I have 4 implants in my top jaw. I couldn't afford the bottoms.
I went to an Affordable Dentures and implants and it cost close to 8,000.
My fiance needs tops and bottoms done and they quoted him around 14,000.
If you can swing doing only the top or bottom jaw for now I suggest you do your bottoms.
When the time is right then you can get the other one done. It takes 3 years to get super significant bone loss. The bone can always be worked back up with bone graphs.

Having chronic dry mouth destroyed my teeth because of reduced saliva flow. Two front teeth need root canals and i have no money for them so they will provably get extracted. Insurance refuses to help. Other top teeth need fillings and if i cant come up with the money for them they will eventually get extracted too,leading to me probably needing full top dentures. I stay in bed all day depressed,rarely talk to anyone. Only go outside if i absolutely have to. I am only 27 years old. You are DEFINITELY not alone.

I just got full dentures at 48 due to dipping so my life. I played baseball and football in high school and college and almost everyone dipped. Most never quit. And they are having the same issues. I was told they could save about half of my teeth but the cost of multiple procedures versus getting full dentures was a no brainer. It's such an emotional roller coaster. I'm 4 months in and can't eat most of the things i used to enjoy. My smile is great but going out to eat is very difficult. Still having bone spicules. Eventually I'll get screw in implants but until then its tough. That being said it's worth it. I notice how people look at me different now that i have a good smile. I used to never smile in public. Stay strong and know your not alone out there people. And yes you shouldn't have to leave your own country to get affordable dental care.

I'm in the same place, at 34 years old my gums are gone. after the birth of my daughter my calcium was depleted and i didnt know. All my teeth started falling out and i had thought i had great teeth! wrong and now i have none. The pain was in describable and i now have dentures that are over sized and my gums are gone my bone structure has changed and ive been living like this for 8 years and its to the point it caused me nervous breakdowns because i cant even chew food. I wish someone would have told me it would change my face structure and that i would end up regretting every single denture choice i made at 34 i no longer think im beautiful

Amen I am 35 and have had full dentures for the last 2 ish years and I'm too self conscious to let my dentist fix the 2 teeth that have fallen out on the bottom as he said he would need it for half of the day! I glued them back in myself and so far so good but why insurance doesn't cover implants which helps keep ppl healthy and helps prevent major surgery in the future boggles my mind!

I’m 23 and I’ve had every tooth pulled out. I have a full set of permanent dentures. It’s really life changing. On one hand it’s so nice to get all the bad teeth out and not be in pain anymore, but on the other hand having no teeth as a 23 year old is very scary.

I have this same problem. Ive had dentures since 2010 & my dentures broke last week. The two top front teeth fell out & can not be repaired. This IS traumatizing for ANY women, at any age! Its bad enough to grow old & hard to cope as a once pretty lady. Yr hair gets thin & yr hips grow wide. Makeup fills the wrinkles you now have & yr unsure what to wear or how much makeup you should put on. You still have long hair but now its gray & then you hear things like, “Women over 50 shouldnt have long hair or wear high heels!” 😳😧😩
Who makes up these rules anyway? Some skinny YOUNG blondes in Hollywood or models in magazines?! Who are “THEY” anyway. My mouth hurts all the time & my bottom denture has not fit right for some time now. I have tried to endure the pain when I run to the store but I can not eat with them in. It hurts too bad!!! Now that the top ones have fallen out it is a must that I get new ones. However, you young lady have a chance to encourage others & of course you will eventually get yr implants. I wish I cld have gotten implants for at least my bottom set. As it stands now, I have jst recently turned 60. That might seem far off to you but trust me. It is NOT that far off. I am running out of time & losing bone as well. Although, in this world occupied with youth, you have more of a chance to have people donate or feel sympathy for you to help. You are very pretty & I felt yr tears. I totally understand. Just think of how scary it is for an older woman as myself. The worl really acts like they just want you to get out of the way & to be quiet. Its really scary & so very heartbreaking. I have some beautiful granddaughters. My only daughter lives far from me but I do my best to try & have a relationship with then thru Facetime. However, I cant really now due to my teeth. I do not want to talk to my granddaughters with no teeth! Can you imagine how crushing that wld be for me. Anyway, I will shut up. Thank you for sharing yr story. If I cld, I wld help us both. I will say a prayer for you & Im confidant that you will eventually get yr teeth. Im just wondering how Im going to navigate this thing called life.

I have had not a single tooth in my mouth since I was 26 years old. I will be 31 this year. And Being a woman living like this is especially humiliating. I cannot wear dentures anymore as my bone is too worn thin... it only took 9 months after my final ten teeth were pulled and I started wearing dentures that I was unable to make enough contact with them to keep them from falling out. I will need (successful) grafts before I can even begin to think about any sort of 4-on-implants to have permanent dentures.
5 years is too long to not be able to smile, and too long to continue destroying the little bone I have left trying to 'chew' food, and too long to not feel like I am a worthy enough looking partner for the love of my life.

I had my dentures stolen from an abusive ex-boyfriend. I have insurance but it doesn't cover implants. Aspen Dental told me I don't have enough bone so they said we can do 4 bottom implants, 4000$I would have to pay up front front. I said I didn't have 4000 I will take dentures. They wouldn't give them to me. 2 years now I finally got new insurance hopefully I find the right dentist to help me. Thank you for sharing your story
I was told at 18 that i needed dentures from an inflamed gum disease. Periodontal disease. My gums were red painful and soft. For some reason my family history on my mom's side everyone has this problem. My mom lost all her teeth at 29 yo. It's devastating and the amt of bone loss is staggering. My advice to anyone going thru this is know you are not alone and watching all these internet influencers with a gleaming pearl white smile doesn't help but there is help out there you just need to do a little research. In mexico you can find very good dentists for a fraction of the price you pay in the US.❤😊

Yea and nothing is ever done about it sadly, smh. They told me 50,000 for my treatment plan upfront for implants, like wtf has that kind of cash upfront except the wealthy. Therefore, I had to settle for partials for a couple G's today. I am relived the tooth pain is gone but feel my self esteem is so low because I am self conscious and just need to not care what people think and just be me if they notice and sends love and 💪 to anyone else experiencing this adversity.
I can't imagine how painful this is. There was a time when I had an ulcer inside the roof of my mouth. I couldn't eat well at that time, even drinking water was painful. What made matters worse was that we were in the month of Ramadan, a month in which we had to fast all day and then eat at night. Except me. I couldn't even eat well at night. It was only two weeks ago that I was watching my mother's delicious cooking for this blessed month, but I couldn't enjoy it. Praise be to God, it went away and I recovered after two weeks. I truly felt the blessing of food and realized what it means to eat to live, not to be satisfied. I hope that all healthy hearts in the world that have been exhausted by disease will be healed

You are so amazing ❤and brave. I had my teeth pulled about 3 years ago and literally only had the heart to do it because COVID and I could wear a mask. I have TMJ in my jaw from an abusive relationship 😢and to top it off when I had the last 18 teeth pulled the oral surgeon was supposed to file down my bone because I have an overbite he did not 😢so I have been ordering these temporary dentures that I make myself. I'm so self conscious and uncomfortable because I keep having to order new ones because they're temporary. I commend you,you give me strength and courage so thank you . I am 40 years old and never expected this to happen to me but thank you for being so brave and showing me that I am not alone ❤

Pregnancies are what happened to me. it caused my teeth to break and shatter. Yea, I took vitamins and did everything needed. Samething happened to my grandmother. Plus, things like diabetes, being on medications, etc. Be mindful. Bless your heart dear.
Yea brushing my teeth twice a day as well as flossing after I ate any food did not help me at all lol. I got pregnancy periodontal disease with my first child 9 years ago and that isn't something that can be cured. And now I have hardly any teeth left and I'm barely 30 years old. It's not from drugs, it's not from bad hygiene, it's from an uncontrollable medical issue that I could not prevent or cure. And sadly, most people with teeth issues like this have gone through the same issues. Everyone just assumes it's either drugs or not brushing and it's so ignorant.

Omg my situation now. After i finish my financing for my dentures, im going back to finance the implants. I struggled mentally when i first was told i needed them. I felt like i was to young 😔 but being on tvis journey, im realizing ppl much younger than i have gotten them. 2 weeks in now. Trying to be patient with my progress. It can get a frustrating eating but i am still in my healing stage so 🤷🏿♀️.

So i always get new teeth that ensure i have a good set of teeth always or at least while i replece the old ones
In Colombia you can get the same procedure with zirconia even for 19k. If you choose acrylic is even cheaper. My father had it done there since the price here in the USA was too much for our budget (around 45k). Now he is really happy and recommending that Dentist to all his friends that need major procedures like him.

A lot of people don’t know that if you have dry mouth even if your brush and floss and take care of teeth the dry mouth ruins your teeth quickly, a lot of medications or conditions can cause it also drug use and smoking or sometimes your salivary glands just don’t produce enough spit for whatever reason. Also some peoples diets can cause the acid in your spit that breaks down food to be too acidic so it eats your teeth and the food. Sometimes it’s just genetics that deal you with a weak set of teeth.
@@KagomeYasha023 I've heard that dry mouth can do damage. I'm pretty sure it's genetics, my mom's side of the family has horrible issues with teeth. My grandmother had full dentures by the age of 36 and my great grandmother had it even worse. Dad's side is bad too so IDK. I will look into the medication, I didn't think of that. I had an amazing set of dentures made. I've worn them for over 10 years. they're so worn. I'm so afraid to get new ones because some people aren't really experienced at making them and they end up looking so fake! The person/place that made my current set isn't in buisness anymore..... idk what to do..

Im 25, in the process of losing my teeth 1 by 1, lost 2 back ones already and about to have 3 more pulled 2 up front and one in back, no matter how well i take care of my teeth and how aften i go to the dentist to get them cleaned which is every 3 months the bone continues to recede, sooner ill be left toothless at most likely the age of 30. Its so embarrassing and depressing. Im scared the implant posts will be rejected so not too sure about those but ill just stick to my partials for now

At the age of 16 years old I did the cosmetic dentistry.It was worth it. The doctor originally prescribed Tylenol/codeine. It was nasty and made me feel like I was hoing to throw up the medicine.
Worked for me 1 blue pill every 12 hours.

I have spent most of my life and thousands of dollars on dental surgery, gum surgery, freeze dried bone replacement due to a combination of genes and a car accident that sheared off my teeth 50 years ago. Bottom line is at age 67 my teeth hurt, I need gum surgery still and fillings. No dental insurance. I spent enough to buy a small country. I wished I got dentures 30 years ago.
It's a natural thing that once you lose a tooth you start losing bone tissue that was once there depending on where tooth loss occured if you lose a carni then other teeth will shift to cover and that bone is lost for good.
I had a denture because they were cheap ( not exactly but less expensive than implant)but noticed inflammation on the gum line, swollen gum on the area overall hated the denture saved up for a implant got the tooth permanently replaced.
Issue is no smoking with implants otherwise it rots the implant from the inside out and gum inflection in the area will be very difficult to subdue once the onset has started once the rod shafts area is inflected very very painful and needs to be removed and then replaced - cost thousands and on new crown another couple if thousands that will need to replaced too.
You also need to keep area and general oral hygiene up to scratch and also go to dentist every so often get clean and polish and general teeth check up.
Even though getting implants is a permanent solution it also has it downsides with maintenance ( have a few implants myself ) only way you can get good maintenance is going to a good dentist / every 10-13 years crowns need to replaced $1,500 per tooth, so implants don't last forever they do need to replaced after decade or so.
I'm only fortunate because I'm from a wealthy background otherwise my teeth will look terrible otherwise missing teeth everywhere. ( 6 implants to be exact in different locations of my mouth)
