Yes! You hit the nail on the head. We do fewer things...but do them better...much like a dermatologist or cardiothoracic surgeon vs a family doc (if we're comparing to medicine).
You make it sound like you leave high school , with low to average marks, & go to dental school fir only 4 years. The dental school education is only granted to the students with the necessary high marks,& manual dexterity . There is a great competition to be admitted . It is actually a job full of surgery back to back to back, to fight the highest overhead of all the professions . . .To be screwed by the insurance companies, but they drive suspicions of Dentists charging too much . But insurance companies control payment, depending on the morals of the dentist not to mention the truth , of lackif payment . Nrither my brother nor I recommend it as a choice of professions, Eye surgery is a better choice . Or plumber, who has a miniscule overhead by comparison. I do electrical work now , after 41 years of wet finger dentistry . High drug ,divorce, & suicide, but the real issue is sitting in tension doing irreversible surgery on hard & soft tissues . So, pain from static posture is beyound what yoga or calisthenics can resolve . Hence the drug/ alcoholic addictions . The reporting of income includes the dental supplies held on the shelf, & accounts receivable , so a dentist won't have that quarter of a million dollars, it is sitting in somebidy else's hands not the dentist . So ,there really isn't the money there that you think from paying those high fees. Staff was also an early problem, still not nicely resolved as to receptionist, & hygienists availability. . . .

Her nickname at school was Blinky
One simple basic visit cost a week of salary for a general labor worker
Criminal fees,beware.
I love teeth so much i work in the dental world too ! Teeth are like little plants you nourish 😁 think of them as living bones with nerves !
The amount they charge for inflicting pain.
Only 4 years to become a dentist in the US? Weird.
Dental school is 4 years :). You need to do an undergraduate degree before that, so 8 years total for most people. Orthodontists are 10-11 years.
Day went to the orthodontist and I just got braces and I'm in shock what I just heard when you guys just talk you 1st like in shock
Is it the same as specialist all start as gp then get more years of study to become specialist?
That being said a dentist still can do what a orthodontist does
Yet for some reason orthodontist can’t do general dentistry well. It’s all about experience.
❤❤
Anyone here have braces?
I'm late but meeee
@@MEMEZILLA995 don’t matter if your late or not plus I posted this when I had braces
315 likes and no comments? Lemme fix that

a local thief and an organized crminal! 😂
One pulls teeth and one does not
Can I ask if teeth are a part of human body? No health care system considers teeth as a part of human body.😅
Theyre technically bone right?
blink blink
So you spent an extra 2 years in school a whole shitload of extra money to do less things cuz that makes sense

So, here's the thing . . . nobody cares! It's boooooooring!
One is annoying and the other is even more annoying.
