- To many James Poyser is the man behind the keyboard on “TheTonight Show” and the familiar face accompanying Jimmy Fallon’s “Thank You Notes,” but he is also a world renown music producer. Billboard recently called him one of the 10 “Producers Who Defined the Sound of 2000” and “a critical player in the neo-soul movement of the late ‘90s and 2000s.” Now James steps out from behind the piano and tells the stories of creating the music that shaped a generation. From Eryka Badu and Lauryn Hill to D’Angelo, Jill Scott, and Common, James had a hand in writing and playing on their everlasting hits. With help from guests, viewers will get an inside look at how these genius pieces of music were created from the man himself.

One of the greatest albums in music! That concert will always be a part of my life! Amazing experience!
Voodoo Tour to this day, the best show i've ever seen! i remember meeting Shelby, Jack and Anthony at a restaurant at the Taj Mahal, Questlove - we kept seeing him on the boardwalk (Atlantic City), met Spanky sometime before the show, kept running into Pino in the hotel.. so many memories.
oh damn more of these please. Love James Poyser, he's the legend
Everything great takes time. The greatness of theses classic tracks are an example to every musician.
I'd love to listen to that legendary session....
Thanks for sharing...I'm loving these. I can't tell you how many times I've played Voodoo and Like Water for Chocolate. CLASSIC MATERIAL!!! Think about the all these classics being produced at the same time in the same space...just amazing.
So many classics being birthed all at once!

I had no idea back then how much I loved D'Angelo and what i was hearing was that Prince inspired influence. Just love these stories on the birth of an album and what goes into it😍. Makes you want to put some scuba gear on 💜
Loved this album and the show in Detroit w/Dead Prez is still one of the greatest concerts I've ever attended. Highlight D'Angelo rocking out on Sh&t, Damn, MF. That was an experience. RIP Jef Lee Johnson, Roy Hargrove and Spanky
