      you should definetly watch his original verion of "unravel" as well !
      I recommend reacting to "【MV】six feet under / Mori Calliope (produced by TK)". This is, like the brackets say, produced by TK for a famous Vtuber(=virtual youtuber) called Mori Calliope. It is funny that you mentioned Chester Bennington here because that song especially gives me some Linkin Park Vibes.
      another amazing song of TK is "TK from 凛として時雨 『Signal』"
      a vtuber original song by Nana Asteria I can recommend is "Call Unto You/ Nana Asteria [Official MV]" and also Hayato Kagami with his song "Within" (【MV】加賀美ハヤト - WITHIN【にじさんじ】)

    Some added analysis coming from a Japanese person:
    His use of consonants is genius. He replaced the w in theをin the phrase 「その仕組みを」(Sono Shikimi wo)for a f to add breathiness to the vowel. Also, at the section where he repeats the phrase 動けない (ugokenai) he adds a K before the U sound to separate the phrases clearly. Subtle usage of consonants helping his singing immensely. Well played.

    • @billy1998vn
      @billy1998vn Před 5 měsíci +45

      Yess, I feel like he specifically wrote the lyrics with the registers in mind. Like you said, the "k" consonant was meant to help with closure for the head voice belt. He also chose very specific words so that the highest note in the song will be sung in a dark vowel. "Mitsukenaide", "Oboeteite", "Omoidashite", "Wasurenaide". The second vowel for all of these words is very dark, which would help him go into the falsetto register for the highest note in the song. Still, I had no idea how he could break in and out of falsetto that high and do it over and over again (that G#5 is repeated 11 times throughout the song). TK is a genius.

    • @Bobbias
      @Bobbias Před 5 měsíci +4

      One thing to note about Kyo is that he does not use healthy techniques for some of the stuff he does, and has had to tone down a lot of the extreme stuff more recently because he's damaged his voice.
      That's not to take away from what he does, just to point out that sometimes vocal coaches make the assumption that someone has found a way to make stuff work safely when that's not necessarily true.

      @SM-by1od Only lack to say he should watch always his live performances, videos are disturbing and difficult to focus on the songs. Diabolos is a great song, although maybe something shorter as "Diferent Sense" would be more suitable for being analized.
      @@Bobbias That was almost a decade ago. He changed he's approach to singning and it seems its working fine. Before 2012 he had several periods where he was not able to perform diagnosed with vocal cords damage but now it's been years without further complications. Taking into account he's very active being frontman on 3 bands already, if his techniques were not healthy he would have relapsed many times.

      When I started singing some years ago I topped out at an A4, and it didn’t sound good. On a day-to-day basis now I can sing quite a bit of Tilian material, but I’ll be honest - it’s unrealistic to think you’ll be able to reliably sing that high *all* the time. Tilian just has a higher pitch voice. That being said, you absolutely *can* extend your range much further than you probably think!! You gotta learn about head voice haha

    I’d love to see you react to more Ado! Some recommendations are:
    Rabuka (cover)
    Bocca della verita (cover)
    Otome Kaibou (cover, she was about 16 if I remember right)
    Buriki no Dance (cover)
    Kura Kura
    And all her songs as Uta from the One Piece film!!

    I think the Aishite Aishite Aishite cover by Ado would be great to analyze

    Hi Chris! Long time subscriber speaking from another account. Really great analysis bringing new ways to enjoy music as always! I've been listening to a rock band called Palaye Royale and the vocalist Remington Leith has a very unique voice that I would love for you to give your perspective on it. Other people have reacted to his voice but I think your analysis would be such a cool thing to watch. I think "Oblivion" is a good representation of his unique voice in a moderate but strong voice. Also the acoustic version of "Dy.ing in a hot tub" shows the power of his singing. I think you'd maybe like it and give it a listen. Great video btw!

    Great video! Please check out the full version of Katharsis by TK! Also, the original version of this song is also AMAZING. It contrasts so much with this version, I think you'll enjoy it :)

    If you get a chance, please react to Ado's cover of "Aishite Aishite Aishite". Such an amazing cover with some unbelievable vocal fry in the higher ranges.

    I’m about to go watch the cover for comparison but TK did the scream correctly. That’s how it’s supposed to sound. It’s the perfect pitch for the feeling it’s supposed to convey. That moment when the tension finally snaps and you release your frustrations. So good soo soo good.

    Recommend you checking out some of his work he does his band ling tosite sigure as not only does he play the lead guitar super fast usual in a different time signatures than the singing which is even more high speed and chaotic with more screams.
