I love the KZ1000 sound, I have a KZ1000A2 and a KZ650B1, both have an addictive sound under acceleration. That camera sure makes your arms look looong!!. On a side note. please wear gloves when riding, the road will eat your hands if you ever fall, even at low speeds :)
+JW Pike I recall seeing an interview with Barry Sheene and Wayne Gardner, where Barry talked about how when you fall and are sliding down the track on your back, you instinctively try to use your hands to stop yourself and badly burn your hands even through your gloves. He said something like with all the pain afterwards, you tell yourself never to do it again, but next time you fall, you do it again anyway. The KZ1000 is my all time favorite bike - I just love the looks and the sound, loved it in 1977, still love it today.
You just sold me on the Kirker for my 78' KZ 1000. Did you re-jet the carbs, or change out the air filters? Also, do you think it was worth the extra $$, because I'm torn with keeping mine all stock 🤔🤔
Dirty Dan I always think your first bike should be something cheap and small use it to learn with knowing that you’ll get something bigger with more power once you feel comfortable with riding. My first bike was a 400 cc 800 dollar beater once I felt safe riding I then moved to larger cc and bigger heavier bikes this bike is fast but not as fast as modern sport bikes it’s 40 years old but in the 70’s the fastest bike on the street
Absolutely. I rode dirtbikes and mini bikes growing up. A 1977 KZ1000 was my first street bike . That was over 10 years ago and I still have the bike to this day lol

Low Profile it has pods, carbs re jetted, dyna coils, you can go to my channel look at other videos of the bike

The top speed is actually 140. Vehicles are always faster than factory rating.
What handlebar switches are you using? I needing to replace mine on my KZ650.
the switches are stock..redline or z1 parts has replacements..
