Dark City
1998 - Directed By Alex Proyas
Composer : Trevor Jones
------------------------------ - Hry
Underrated movie. Underrated soundtrack.
True
+culdee4 Is from Thomas and the magic railroad 2000!
the most underrated sci-fi movie.
there should be public outcry for a sequel
@@Samahn112 Some movies should be one and done. Dark City doesn't need a sequel.
@JackUHU can you elaborate? What are the specific elements of the films story and visuals that are free Masonic?
@@esyphillis101 A choir of ugly bald old men.
to dangerous to watch , people might wake up as to why our world is in such a bad shape
Fucking hell, Trevor Jones went all-out for this one.
This song was also used in the X-Men trailer from 2000.
Also the remake of Lost In Space (1998)
In Veggietales
The music is half the reason I love this movie as dearly as I do. Takes something great and makes it amazing.
This soundtrack was a game-changer. EPIC.
Smoke Thief one of the most overlooked even. No major nominations. There should have been at this level of work! :(
yea, I feel ya!
Trevor Jones is one of my favorite film composers, and Dark City is one of my favorite SciFi films and neo-noirs! Underrated masterpiece. This track is so epic.
There is Suspense music and there is Action music. This piece is BOTH at once.
With
5:29 full unfiltered realization,
7:13 unveiled grace and beauty
9:25 and ultimately cathartic release.
A science-fiction masterpiece as a whole...
"The world can be what you make it, John! But you must act, NOW!"
@unrealcreator3356 *John looks over to Doctor Schrebe, releasing him from his harness, before facing down Mr. Book*
One of my all time favorite songs!
1:17 gives me chills and the way it builds from there... so fucking epic!
No matter how many times I've heard it, this piece gives me the chills every time I listen to it. Every. Time.
This piece is perfect for when you put off doing your semester project until 11 PM at night and it's due in one hour at Midnight.
That ending...
Skip to 9:05 for the reset music, IYKYK
I was looking for this 😄
I have tripped so much on this track. Wet dream: Trevor Jones scoring the next Batman movie.
man this movie is soooooo forgotten its sad. im STILL in love with this movie
I'm absolutely amazed by the middle part
This is the THOMAS AND THE MAGIC RAILLROAD CHASE SOUNDTRACK director cut
I don't think anyone makes soundtracks this good other than Trevor Jones. So many layers, especially if you hear it lossless.
I've seen a video once that paired the Tumbler-Chase from "Batman Begins" with this music and it made me wish Trevor Jones had handled the entire Dark Knight Trilogy.
I don't suppose you have the link to that?
If I could make every being on this planet listen to a piece of music it would have to be this one. There will be so many people who have never heard this soundtrack and the whole thing is just wonderful. The build up section from 5:00 on to 6:50 is absolutely stunning and the organ part will reliably bring me to tears.
This says....BOSS BATTLE.
Because it is. Little you do know the hero is also the boss.
I've seen the movie. The hero finds the Boss within and battles his enemy until one still stands.
This is better than anything Hans Zimmer has made in the last ten years even Inception. That part starting at 5:46 is epic.
This! This was what I was looking for!
Thanks for mentioning it! I didn't much care for the beginning of the track, but this part is amazing. Sent chills running down my arms! In the trashy movie Priest, there's similar use of the grand organ, check it out in case you haven't seen/heard it.
*Trevor Jones is good (I like this soundtrack, especially this part **10:10**.. It's great!), but hands down Hans Zimmer is the greatest composer of all time as John Williams, Vangelis, Mozart (ahead of time)...*
Sounds epic. Like James Newton Howard
@@lookylookyyonder5043 Hans Zimmer is a hack and nowhere near the best composer of all time.
An old horror trailer for Pinocchio brought me here years ago and I can't thank that guy enough
Ryan vs Dorkman
after 10 years since I first saw ryan vs dorkman at last I know where that soundtrack comes from
It is a great movie I love the end...all that light with the ocean in the background. .
Many did not follow up the movie to understand it.... It is just like reading a book...you have to let things converge in the real feeling of the situation created.. like in a long dark dream
I remember first hearing this from a Tribute video for the “Condemned: Criminal Origins” video game with this soundtrack playing about halfway through. Really stuck out to me
Good to finally know where it came from
_where you go ?
_ ... shell beach?
_ :^)
EPIC
Ryan vs Dorkman brought me to this
"Now I have just the name for him... Pinocchio."
This is the music I'm going out with when I take my enemies with me
One year later and I haven't changed my mind :D
@@treguard1982 one year later you be like : "Yes! what i've said its quality content indeed xD"
Someone actually used this for the Thomas and the Magic Railroad director's cut chase scene for a school project
Where's that video?
@@daktheavking9357 czcams.com/video/-M0lN2mVTmU/video.html original is taken down, this is the oldest repost of it
1:46 Sounded Like The Matrix.
Masterpiece - especially the part at 9:48
1:46 Sounded just like the Matrix.
Came out 1 year before The Matrix.
Now you've done it.
Narrator: Previously, on "Battle Star"...
Larry Kenobi: Let's split up.
Anakin: I'm your wingman!
Larry Kenobi: Your game is weak.
(Larry staggers inside an elevator, sniffling aggressively)
Creepio: Behold! ....The Singularity ENGINE!!!!
Grievous: We're all freaks now! Because of that monster you built!
Larry Kenobi: It's time for you to shut up.
Creepio: What do you mean, "Singularity survivors?"
(Anakin and Larry spin their lightsabers at each other, aggressively)
(Fartoo ejects from a grounded ship)
Anakin: You are such an ASSSSHHOOOOLLLLLEEE!!!!
Larry Kenobi: Well, perhaps you're right.
(Larry delivers a baby to a couple in desert world)
Larry Kenobi: His name's "Duke". I prefer cash.
(Duke, all grown up and dressed for laser tag, removes his helmet, aggressively)
Duke Dirtfarmer: I'm Duke Dirtfarmer! I'm here to hang out with you!
Leia: Duke...?
(footage of Alderaan's destruction replays on Laser Moon's monitor)
Regional Manager Vader: There's just...no way to spin this.
Laser Moon Employee: Sir! Laser Moon is firing back and referring to itself in the first person!
(Duke shoots two moldy pizzas into Laser Moon's exposed shaft)
Creepio: Go, Laser Moon!
Wedge: I love Christmas.
(a bunch of ships speeds past the snowy hills of Hoth towards a Christmas Parade spearheaded by a bunch of large mechanical "reindeer" while making excitement noises, aggressively)
Christmas Day Parade Employee: What the hell was that?
Laser Moon A.I.: I... am Laser Moon.
(The reindeer fire at the audience)
(Regional Manager Vader sits in front of a certain Rick Astley music video)
Ghostly Steve Ben Larry Kenobi: I walked through a door to a new dimension.
Han Solo: I'm awesome.
Leia: ...You're alright.
(They snog, aggressively)
Regional Manager Vader: My daughter deserves better than someone like you.
Lando: What about your golden friend, back there? He wants a beer!
Creepio: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
(We cut back and forth between Anakin and Creepio, aggressively)
(Raiden appears)
(Creepio magically appears behind two children eating at a dinner table)
(Flashes of Duke and Regional Manager Vader taking in Midichlorians play out, aggressively)
Ghostly Steve Ben Larry Kenobi: Duke!
Creepio: You shall be known as..."Han SINGULAR!!!"
(Han gets doused by gas in a packaging machine, aggressively)
Creepio: YYYEEEESSSSSSS!!!
(Duke experiences a bad trip, aggressively)
Duke Dirtfarmer: I'm just a shitty Dirtfarmer!
Regional Manager Vader: What?
Duke Dirtfarmer: I just wanted to know who my real dad is.
Regional Manager Vader: Obi-Wan Kenobi... is your father.
(Duke falls down a trap door, aggressively)
The key lesson of this movie is that We all are looking to get our way to our own Shell Beach.
but Shell beach doesn't exist ..... what are you waiting to synthonise it ?
obviously for a crazy scientist turned double-agent for mankind to inject a training montage memory in me so I can develop my powers to their full potential.
duh.
Perhaps Shell Beach isn't a place but rather a state of mind. A place of peace and contentment. But we know it exists but we don't know the way, not until we tap into the powers that we all possess. Just hidden.

This scene did DBZ better than the DBZ movie did.
I’m a huge movie and soundtrack buff and I have had the soundtrack for years as I’d heard this track in the first xmen trailer, however to my Shame iv never watched the film , I know ur all gonna kick off at me just don’t do it all at once lol, after reading all the comments here iv ordered the blu ray
bigmack lad hope you like it.
It is one of my best
one of the true film masterpieces, watch out for the characters with entangled memories, you'll find certain characters repeating or referring to things other citizens of Dark City share
excellent film et superbe bonde-son
The soundtrack for "Avengers: Infinity War" seems to have generously "borrowed" from this piece. Especially the end.
Really? Which scenes in infinity War does the music borrow from this film?
MikeMcCuen In what parts? Quite curious.
Epic!

I don't think it needs to be remade, but Misha would be the PERFECT choice for John if they ever did!
